Chapter 1658: Chapter 1219: No Need to Thank

Anthony’s thoughts probed inside, discovering a surprising array of items in the pit. The first thing to catch his eye was ten bodies of the Half-star God, a type previously modeled after the North Corona and South Coronet, but lacking independent consciousness.

The Star Progeny Master carried only two of these, but there were ten placed here, showing his regard for the treasury.

Behind these Half-star God bodies were three fist-sized Black Crystals, each gripped by a Black Crystal hand bone rising from the ground, suspended in mid-air. Within these Black Crystals, countless starry specks whirled into a vortex.

"Hiss—Chaos Black Crystal? It’s already self-circulating?" Negris exclaimed. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

Its exclamation startled Ange, who curiously probed a part of his consciousness over. Black Crystals and Chaos Black Crystals are almost two different things; a Black Crystal without starry specks is just a dead object, but with starry specks, it becomes a substance of Origin level.

If the starry specks inside have completed self-circulation, then it’s on another level entirely. Across the vast Void, only Ange’s true body has formed self-circulation. Negris strongly suspects this kind of rotation is related to the increase.

Unfortunately, there are too few samples; Ange is the only solitary model without anything for comparison.

The Monarch, though also a Chaos Black Crystal, didn’t form self-circulation inside his specks, and later switched to a Primordial Body, leaving nothing to compare.

Well, now there are several self-rotating Black Crystals, samples +3.

Surrounding these three chaos self-rotating Black Crystals was a Stele, a stone dagger, three seeds, and an Abyss Bridge... An Abyss Bridge?

"Why is there another Abyss Bridge? Are there many of these things?" Negris said in shock.

"Heh, this Star Progeny Master never mentioned he had a second Abyss Bridge, huh? This guy wants to turn the tables?" Anthony said with a casual tone, but inwardly he felt enormous regret and anger. There was a second Abyss Bridge?

If Ange had been completely unguarded and followed into the repository, his consciousness could be trapped by the Star Progeny Master using an Abyss Bridge—what would be the consequences?

If Ange’s consciousness is imprisoned in the Sea of Consciousness, making it impossible for information to transmit out, the penalty of consciousness imprint wouldn’t be triggered. Though Ange wouldn’t die, it wouldn’t cause a consequential collapse either. If Ange was kept imprisoned continuously, the consciousness imprint would essentially be non-existent.

This is almost the only operable way to disconnect from the consciousness imprint. Yet, no one would have imagined the Star Progeny Master actually having a second Abyss Bridge; such a weapon capable of imprisoning God Star consciousness, having two pieces?

But why not two? Maybe there’s a third, fourth, fifth, or sixth. Back then, the Life Box was also precious, only Duror Kenfeilin and a handful of other Witches had it. But after Ange broke through the technical and material bottlenecks, didn’t everyone end up with one? Maybe the Star Progeny Master broke through some kind of bottleneck too?

Of course, these are all excuses. Anthony was genuinely upset with himself for being too careless, for overlooking this possibility. Clearly aware that the Abyss Bridge could imprison consciousness, yet never considered there might be a second one.

Thankfully, this little God Star preemptively blasted open the treasury; otherwise, if the Star Progeny Master got the Abyss Bridge and launched a surprise attack, Ange would be in great danger.

Then again, he might not have been able to plot against Ange. With the Prophet Ability, Ange has a very keen foresight for danger. Anthony was just lamenting his own carelessness, enraged by the Star Progeny Master’s scheming, which was an unacceptable mistake for him.

"Sir, there’s a second Abyss Bridge here, and he didn’t tell us. He harbors ill intentions. I suggest you eliminate him," Anthony said.

Ange paused for a moment and nodded.

With just that small nod, the Star Progeny Master who was entangled with the Little God Star suddenly froze, his form beginning to fracture.

This sudden change not only stunned Anthony and Negris but also left the Little God Star startled.

"Killed just like that? So decisively? Couldn’t you wait a bit? It wouldn’t be too late to finish off the Little God Star before killing him," Negris said, laughing and crying.

"Burned my field," Ange said, then added, "he had red on him."

"Red? The dangerous red?" Negris asked in astonishment.

Ange nodded.

Ange has a rarely used Divine Technique that allows him to assess an enemy’s threat level through color: green is harmless, yellow is mild, and red is dangerous.

This Divine Technique doesn’t originate from a particular God Status, but rather is a composite effect from several Divine Techniques. Negris suspects it is a combination of the Power of the Prophet and the Ring of Balance.

The Ring of Balance can weigh all things, the Power of the Prophet can foresee the future, and combined, they can measure an enemy’s threat level.

Just as Ange finished nodding, a circular object fell out of the disintegrating Star Progeny Master’s form, made up of three rings. As it spun, the hollow space would immediately generate a Devouring Abyss—it was indeed a third Abyss Bridge.

"Hiss—there really is a third Abyss Bridge? So you weren’t just on standby earlier, you sensed the danger, which is why you didn’t step in?" Negris exclaimed in shock.

Ange nodded.

Anthony also let out a long sigh, saying, "So, in that little bit of time he got here earlier, he’d already preemptively acquired an Abyss Bridge, hiding it on himself for an ambush. Then why didn’t he bring this one too?"

Anthony summoned a Light Ball, letting it drift into the pit. It passed over those ten Half-star God bodies, which hadn’t responded, and the Light Ball settled on the Abyss Bridge in the pit, covering it, and then floated back.

Once in hand, Anthony understood why he hadn’t brought this one—it was a half-finished product, with only the ring, no Abyss.

Hadn’t finished it yet so he hid it well, but being discovered exposed his trump card and intent, and he got taken out by Ange with just a thought.

The mighty Star Progeny Master, instead of dying in direct combat, died here due to his malice. It was a truly suffocating death; he couldn’t even argue a defense for himself.

The Star Progeny Master’s form completely disintegrated, revealing a fist-sized White Crystal—deservedly the Star Progeny Master, his White Crystal Core was much larger than that of the North Corona and South Coronet, capable of containing greater power.

Ange reached out, and the White Crystal was immediately drawn over.

It wasn’t until this moment that the long-stunned Little God Star finally understood what had happened. That bad guy, who had been oppressing it, bullying it, enslaving it, and consistently plundering its power, had been killed by these strangers in front of it.

Hesitant and timid, the Little God Star sent out a message: "Tha... thank you."

Ange tilted his head, somewhat puzzled. He hadn’t done it to help the Little God Star, only to eliminate the threat. Nonetheless, since the other said thanks, Ange opened his hand and tossed over the cluster of Little Fireballs as a response—don’t mention it.
