Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton-Chapter 1972 - 1533: The New God Star
"No, Lord Nage, don’t point at me." The Abyssal Big Mouth whimpered pitifully.
"Stop pretending." Negris said irritably: "Lighting the Abyss Core doesn’t mean your demise; just swap out a core, Ange can craft a new one for you. Seriously. Are you trying to monopolize the Abyss Core? Once ignited, it becomes a God Star."
"I..." Though Big Mouth wanted to monopolize it, it didn’t dare say it aloud.
All along, it hadn’t contributed to the battles, the Abyss Core was simply picked up, and it hadn’t earned any achievements to justify monopolizing a core that could ignite into a God Star? Wishful thinking.
But abandoning this core and swapping for a new one was even less appealing. Not to mention the power dropping directly from nearly God Star level down to nascent level, the thought of having nothing to devour made it hesitate.
The entire Void was barren, near the God Star was already the material-richest area. If it changed cores, what could it devour?
This was a very real problem; during its time on the Chaos Plane, although material was scarce, there was Chaos Mist to sustain it. Now, if there’s no material to devour and no Chaos Mist, the Abyss Core would continue to shrink, eventually dissipating into nothingness.
Moreover, devouring is its instinct, without anything to eat, it would feel a persistent hunger, very uncomfortable. Swap for a new core, and endure persistent hunger until starving and dissipating? No way.
Thinking of this possibility, the idea of consciousness extinction seemed acceptable. After all, its consciousness is backed up with Ange. If it was extinguished, it could be recreated.
Having thought of this, Abyssal Big Mouth said: "Alright, go ahead and light it. I’m not leaving, I want to become a God Star. I don’t believe mere ignition could extinguish me. Lord will protect me!"
"Oh, this damned Big Mouth, Ange, don’t bother with it, let it die." Negris was almost inclined to tear its mouth.
It did little but ate a lot and still wanted Ange’s protection? Pah, it lived better than his translator!
But it’s impossible for Ange to ignore it, even if it failed, its consciousness would be retrieved on the spot, preventing a blowout. Hence, it dared to shout things like ’I want to become a God Star’.
Resolute, Abyssal Big Mouth didn’t hesitate, focusing its thought on a large chunk of Plane in the distance.
As its thought concentrated, the space between it and that Plane rapidly started collapsing, forming a weak-point ’hole’ connecting it with the Plane.
Initially static, the Plane now seemed like it was sinking into quicksand, continuously sliding toward Abyssal Big Mouth.
The Plane had moved here early on, but Abyssal Big Mouth felt close to exploding, causing it to push it away. Having decided, it began to pull in the material kept outside.
As a gravity bridge was established between them, the material began sliding towards Abyssal Big Mouth, with increasing speed, turning into a meteor when reaching Abyssal Big Mouth, crashing towards the Abyss Core.
The swiftly crashing Plane appeared formidable, especially its size seemed larger than the Abyss Core, whose diameter was only fifteen kilometers, while the Plane spanned several thousand kilometers, akin to a Giant Rock crashing into a small bead.
Yet, upon entering the Abyss Core’s gravity range, the gravity differential between far and near tore the Plane apart into fragments, turning into dozens of Plane pieces of varying sizes, continuing to crash towards the Abyss Core.
As it got closer, the gravity differential grew larger, fragmenting further, until it turned to powder near the core.
Throughout the process, its volume shrank rapidly while its density kept rising, finally forming a layer of ’fog’, falling swiftly onto the Abyss Core.
It was the layers of this ’fog’ that had accumulated the Abyss Core to its current size; the surface pressure was already enough to compress the Plane into thin fog, not to mention the internal pressure, already at the ignition threshold.
With the Plane’s fall onto the Abyss Core, becoming part of it, the core’s pressure strengthened a notch.
Don’t underestimate this insignificant notch in pressure; it was like the last scale that broke the Giant Dragon, in a burst, Abyssal Big Mouth felt its internal flame kindled.
The current Abyss Core was like a mass of molten metal, the hollow hole once dug by Ange long gone, the pressure so immense its structure couldn’t hold, liquifying into a mass.
It’s not a liquid state; it’s the solid core under immense pressure liquifying, now with greater pressure, the core’s innermost region ignited.
Abyssal Big Mouth felt it was about to explode, core temperature surged appallingly, violent energy seemed to break through something, storming out from the innermost core.
Yet immense pressure prevented the storming, thus the violent energy rapidly accumulated, heightened, brewed.
Layers of the core were ignited from within, violent energy accumulated exponentially, colliding, combusting, chain reactions, exponentially intensifying...
But this layered accumulation of violent energy was also being suppressed layer by layer; the farther out, the more blockages, the larger the volume, hindering energy release.
Thus energy amassed, continued igniting, leading the outer layer to become a part of the energy, endlessly attempting to release outward, layer upon layer.
The entire process was akin to a tug of war; energy wanted to break through the core, the core wanted to confine the energy; the more confinement, the more energy accumulated, the more accumulation, the more was ignited, repeatedly, there would be a moment it couldn’t be confined.
Abyssal Big Mouth frantically delayed the chain reaction’s speed, desperately guiding the energy to release toward the center, hence the outer core wouldn’t ignite so quickly; as long as burnout speed slowed, the resultant explosion wouldn’t be so intense.
If exploding too violently, plenty of material would be scattered away, the core couldn’t maintain existing pressure, and combustion wouldn’t continue, resulting in failure of becoming a God Star.
Realizing this, Big Mouth exhausted all efforts to decelerate, mentally pondering: Slow down... slow down... slow down...
In a daze, Abyssal Big Mouth felt something behind sustaining it, turned to see Ange’s shadow.
Outside, Anthony, Negris, Ursman, and others focused their eyes, even the Star Mover wasn’t an exception. From Devouring Abyss to God Star breakthrough, he hadn’t seen it before; as long as Ange et al. didn’t chase him away, he’d certainly stay.
Under their watch, the Abyss Core, with only fifteen kilometers diameter, began rapid expansion, expanding again, until it reached tens of thousands of kilometers, then hundreds of thousands; they watched as a small sphere inflated into a great ball.
"Seems to slow down," Star Mover suddenly remarked.
Indeed, it slowed; expanding to hundreds of thousands of kilometers took just one day, but reaching a million kilometers took a whole month.
Throughout this month, the Abyss Core inflated into a massive ball with a million kilometers diameter, surface temperature rose to thousands of degrees, its surface blazed red, vaguely showing signs of explosion.
At that moment, the incandescent surface suddenly cracked, a gigantic fire column spewed forth, shooting into the Void millions of kilometers away. If it completely erupted, it would definitely scatter beyond the Abyss Core’s gravity range.
Suddenly, the previously violently spewing fire column slowed down, seemingly exhausted, beginning to fall toward the core.
"Gravity Trap, it’s a Gravity Trap, local gravity enhanced forming surrounding inward gravity trap, impressive." Star Mover instinctively praised.
