Chapter 1981: Chapter 1542: The Second Terror

Luomu Luo’er is trapped in a plight similar to that of the Deceit Tree Seedling. He let the door handle guard the house. They have no direct Soul Contact, nor any forcible contract, just some indirect Prohibitions.

If he returns unharmed now, no problem, the indirect Prohibitions prevent the door handle from attacking him. With his proficiency in controlling the essence, he can suppress the door handle.

However, if he gets trapped here, and Ange and others take over his essence, they definitely cannot compete with the door handle.

This is just like the emperor leading troops out of the city to return; the people in the city will obediently open the gates. But if the emperor is captured and returns, even if they are ordered to open the city, the command might not be effective.

If the door handle obtains control of his essence, then all the power he accumulated will be handed over to a consciousness forged by itself.

This is not something Luomu Luo’er can accept.

"Are you saying you had the door handle guard your essence? You don’t have Soul Contact? Nor do you have a forcible contract? How dare you?" Anthony said in shock.

"What’s there to fear? You let me go back now, and with a single thought, the essence can subdue him." Luomu Luo’er said.

Anthony looked him up and down with a look that said he was looking at a fool; you might be this foolish, but we certainly are not.

Indeed, who could be so foolish as to leave their essence out there, all alone... No, who would be so foolish as to leave their essence in the external world and send their consciousness through?

When Luomu Luo’er thought of this, he almost regretted it to death. He thought he could control everything, waiting until the Gate of No Boundary was completely occupied before daring to dive in.

Originally thinking that even if it was a trap ahead, with the Gate of No Boundary in hand, he could at least retreat safely; unexpectedly, with a single encounter, he was captured, so quickly he had no time to react.

Now that he’s captured, if Ange and others go out to seize his essence, the door handle certainly won’t give it up, but rather claim it as its own, unless...

"Unless we let you go back, have you personally take over your essence, and then let the Lord go, after you swear allegiance to him?" Anthony said in a teasing tone.

Although he could hear Anthony’s tone was unfriendly, Luomu Luo’er still braced himself to say, "Exactly. I swear, I can sign a contract, or you can place Prohibition upon me; anything works, I will definitely keep my vow."

Anthony chuckled, "You can directly offer your soul to the Lord, establish Soul Contact, and then we’ll let you go back."

"Impossible, the Gate of No Boundary isolates all connections, whether Soul Contact or otherwise. If I establish Soul Contact with you, it will be interrupted as soon as I pass through the Gate of No Boundary." Luomu Luo’er said.

"Then there’s nothing we can do; you’ll just have to stay here obediently, and your essence will be handed over to the door handle." Anthony said leisurely.

"No, I’m the Branch Lord; my essence is a mature God Star. The Divine Soul Mist outside is accumulated by killing ten God Stars. If transformed into Chaos Mist, it could hatch at least ten God Stars. You’re just going to forgo it?" Luomu Luo’er asked incredulously.

Anthony sneered, "Whether we want it or not, we wouldn’t make such a foolish move as to leave our essence, sending a consciousness alone through the Gate of No Boundary."

Anthony’s mockery made Luomu Luo’er ’blush’, but he still tried to entice them: "Just let me go back, and you can have the huge increase equivalent to ten God Stars. Even half the transfer could amplify your God Star by tenfold."

Anthony smiled; he saw through it now. Luomu Luo’er, at his core, was a very greedy fellow, repeatedly talking about how much his power increases.

It’s not surprising, though. Without greed, how would he take such a huge risk to cross the Gate of No Boundary?

If this continues, he may never grasp the key point. Anthony couldn’t help but guide him a little: "What you say is very tempting, but how can we get it?"

"Let me go back, let me go back and you can get it." Luomu Luo’er said.

Anthony spoke slowly, "How can we ensure you’ll keep your promise and transfer those powers to us?"

"I swear, I’ll sign a contract, any contract will do, or a Consciousness Restriction, anything works." Luomu Luo’er said repeatedly.

Anthony laughed, "You think those can restrain you? Don’t be ridiculous; those things can’t even restrain a Dark Star, let alone a Branch Lord like you."

"Then what to do?" Luomu Luo’er said in distress.

"You’re asking me what to do? Come on, now it’s your job to figure out a way to safely transfer your power to us, or face death. It’s you who need to ask what to do, not me," Anthony said in a bad mood.

Now, he just wants to disrupt Luomu Luo’er’s mindset. Once he destabilizes him, it will be much easier.

Sure enough, Luomu Luo’er instantly became furious but had to suppress his anger, glaring at Anthony, thinking how dignified a Branch Lord he was, yet to be mocked by a Star Descendant, pressed to find a way to transfer power to them safely.

Not only wanting his resources but also making him clear the path himself to ensure no one can trace it, it’s simply... too insightful.

Watching the Soul Flame dimming quickly in Anthony’s palm, Luomu Luo’er quickly piled up a smile, his thoughts racing:

"Theoretically, there’s a way. If we could find Star Movers, use their Star Migration Technique to open a barrier fissure, then we could use Soul Contact and other methods to reach the outside. But now there are no more Star Movers; any rigid link through the Gate of No Boundary will be interrupted."

"How about we sign a loyalty vow or something?" Luomu Luo’er suggested.

Anthony certainly wouldn’t agree; a loyalty vow or similar is something even he can crack, and even more so a Branch Lord. Only that kind of forcible Soul Contact that allows Ange to make him lose consciousness with a thought could possibly restrain a God Star.

However, Anthony was interested in the information about Star Movers: "Star Movers are gone? Why are they gone?"

"They have been wiped out by Outer Realm Ghosts, and the Star Migration Technique is likely lost." Luomu Luo’er said.

"Outer Realm Ghosts? The ones who, alongside the Time-Space Ancient Dragon, hunted all your God Stars down? One of those terrifying existences?" Anthony said in surprise.

Luomu Luo’er nodded.

Everyone said there were two terrifying entities in the outside world; one was the Time-Space Ancient Dragon. But nobody knew who the other was, only that it was an ominous shadow. Well, finally, the name of the second is known.

With such significant information gains, Anthony stopped teasing him and instead said, "If we could also use Star Migration Technique, then would you offer your soul?"
