Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime-Chapter 786 - Rescue_1
Chapter 786 -786 Rescue_1
After the ambulance arrived, it took Dylan Summers, Yolanda Summers, and Laura Summers to the hospital.
Alexander Summers and Purple Summers followed to the hospital. With such a serious incident, it was impossible not to be concerned.
Nathaniel Summers stayed behind to assist the police with their statement recording.
Mrs. Fowler’s accusation was unfounded. She claimed that Sheldon Fowler had been lured out by Yolanda Summers, but it had already been verified that the incoming calls from Yolanda on Sheldon’s phone were actually from a fake number set up by himself. As for the talk of a curse, that was even less credible.
Moreover, when Sheldon Fowler jumped to his death, the police had accessed the hotel’s surveillance footage and recorded statements from the two fake kidnappers. In any case, his death could not possibly be linked to the Summers family.
Mrs. Fowler was extremely emotional, crying and screaming at the police station, so the authorities concluded that she had committed murder due to the emotional stress of losing her son.
...
Excessive emotion leading to murder is still murder, and she was sentenced accordingly. Mrs. Fowler was arrested and imprisoned.
After leaving the police station, Nathaniel Summers immediately headed to the hospital.
By then, Dylan Summers was still in critical care.
Though Yolanda Summers’s life was not in danger, she had a comminuted fracture of the lumbar spine and needed immediate surgery, or she might face the risk of lifelong paralysis.
Alexander Summers made the decision, signing the surgery consent form.
Laura Summers, who had been behind Yolanda, did not come into direct contact with the car and only broke her arm when she fell. Her injury was considered the least serious.
After her wound was treated, she stepped out of the treatment room and saw Alexander Summers and Purple Summers in the corridor. She hurried over and asked, “How are my father and sister doing?”
Purple Summers shook her head, “The doctor hasn’t come out yet.”
All three were heavy-hearted. There were chairs in the corridor, but none of them had the peace of mind to sit down.
Family is a peculiar social relationship. Normally living together, there’s often deep animosity among members, but when a crisis occurs, a capacity for empathy emerges, binding them closely together.
Alexander Summers had never looked up to Dylan, considering him sly, selfish, and lacking integrity, with a particularly ugly penchant for flattery and servility.
But when Dylan actually faced trouble, Alexander’s mind involuntarily filled with memories of times when Dylan had helped him.
In the year right after Elder Master Summers passed away, Mrs. Summers, without any reservations, was at her most overbearing, determined to drive Atra Blanc and Alexander out, even if Atra was willing to move to the small Western-style house in the garden, Mrs. Summers wouldn’t let Atra off, speaking particularly vicious words, even suggesting that the elder master had been harmed by Atra!
Atra was unjustly accused. She was originally Elder Master Summers’s caregiver, and it was natural for her to attend to him around the clock. But in Mrs. Summers’s words, it turned into Atra seducing the elder master, who clearly was unfit, yet they locked themselves in the room day and night, up to who knows what mischief.
Back then, Alexander was only nine years old, and Purple had just turned one.
If Atra and the two children were really evicted from the Summers Residence, their lives would have been uncertain and miserable. It was Dylan who played the mediator and persuaded Mrs. Summers to relent.
Of course, Dylan’s intervention wasn’t out of the genuine desire to aid Atra’s family.
He was only considering his own reputation and preserving the dignity of the Summers family, not wanting others to see them as callous and unrighteous, which is why he stepped forward.
But even if Dylan’s initial intention was self-serving, it didn’t change the fact that he indeed had helped Atra’s family.
Alexander Summers had never wished for Dylan’s death.
The three of them waited in silence in the corridor.
Nathaniel Summers finally arrived at the hospital. Seeing him, Laura seemed to find her pillar of strength and ran forward, calling out, “Uncle Nate.”
“How are your dad and your sister?” Nathaniel asked.
Laura’s eyes were red-rimmed, but she wasn’t crying. She shook her head and said, “I don’t know, they’re still inside.”

Nathaniel glanced at Alexander and Purple standing aside, then sat down silently, joining them in awaiting the outcome.
