From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals-Chapter 614 Bending
JJ blinked, taken aback. She felt her hands tremble as she tried to wipe away her tears. "And what exactly do you need me for?"
General Osalf stepped back, giving her some space, and gestured toward the towering tech machine. "It's about the Demon, Ty. He's a crucial piece in all of this."
JJ frowned, confusion etched on her face. "Ty? What about him?" She remembered Ty's laughter, his strength when he pulled her from the brink. It felt strange to hear his name from someone like Osalf.
Osalf's expression remained neutral. "So, what you're saying is that you want me to leverage our friendship to have him help you with whatever you are doing?"
"That is correct, in a sense," Osalf confirmed, his voice devoid of malice. "We don't wish him harm. Quite the opposite. We believe he could become a valuable member of the Black Bulls and help fix this broken world."
JJ's skepticism deepened. She folded her arms across her chest, her voice dripping with doubt. "Well, what even is your plan? How could you or anyone hope to topple an untouchable kingdom? They have stood the test of time and never faltered, even with their vast dominion over all seven continents. I just don't see how this world will ever change."
Osalf's gaze never wavered. He stepped closer, his eyes burning with a fervor she hadn't seen before. "We will put everything on the line for the opportunity to change the world—even if it's just a one percent chance. It's a shot we have to take. Our leader has been working tirelessly for years to give us this opportunity."

JJ tilted her head slightly, taking a cautious step back. "Wait, you aren't the leader? I would have thought..."
Osalf shook his head, an almost wistful smile crossing his face. "No. I came along a few years ago after retiring, after I learned the truth. I realized the countless lives I took for the kingdom—all that blood on my hands—had only powered someone else's corruption."
"Power source?" JJ's eyebrows furrowed. "I'm sorry, I don't follow. What exactly is your plan? What's the end goal here? Destroy the kingdom and create a power vacuum? That could easily cause more destruction than before. I hate this system more than anyone, but even with my family being killed and the murderer still alive… what better solution could be affordable to this?"
Osalf nodded solemnly, taking a seat. A tear glistened at the corner of his eye before it fell down his weathered cheek. He spoke softly, almost as if confiding in her. "That's a great question, dear Jedo. I would never have envisioned needing to put down Lt. Daemon myself—it's a burden I carry. It was me who performed the action. If I could go back, I would wish for things to have unfolded differently. He was special, from a foreign child to a prodigy soldier…" His voice cracked for a moment, and he swallowed hard.
"Had I not done what I did, our entire organization would have been exposed. I had no choice." He looked down, his gaze distant. "The kingdom… it's built on the bodies of the innocent, and they continue to use those same bodies as stepping stones. There's something much darker going on with these yearly tournaments, something we need to uncover. Our goal isn't to destroy and cause chaos. We intend to break the world into segments, with rulers sharing equal power. A single ruling figure cannot work when it's bathed in blood."
Osalf reached into his pocket, pulling out a small device. From the shadows, a tiny robot spider climbed over his shoulder, its metal legs tapping lightly against his armor. "We have taken proactive steps to level the field, thanks to Gears, a Black Bulls member. He crafted these devices." Continue reading stories on novelbuddy
JJ's eyes widened, staring at the spider. "W-what is that for?"
"It's capable of siphoning a fraction of power from anyone it attaches to," Osalf explained. "It can destroy anything electrical in their bloodstream. It's immune to the kingdom's surveillance, allowing us to operate in the shadows without interference." He sighed, then looked at JJ with earnestness. "Jedo, based on your history with Ty, we believe you're the only one who can talk to him, the only one who can convince him that we aren't the bad guys here. I trust that you can make this happen."
JJ opened her mouth to respond, but the sudden sound of footsteps drew her attention. Heavy, deliberate footfalls echoed from the far end of the room, near the arching machine she had noticed earlier. The torches lining the walls flickered, casting shadows as a man with silver-spiked hair entered.
His golden shoes clicked against the cold floor as he approached, his brown blazer matching his calm but confident demeanor. He moved with a purpose, and his eyes locked onto JJ the moment he was in view.
"Who is this?" JJ whispered, glancing at Osalf. Blue gripped a lock of JJ's hair tighter, her wings twitching nervously.
"That's our leader," Osalf said simply, standing up from his chair and bowing slightly in respect. "Jedo, meet Rui-Chai. The one orchestrating this entire plan."
Rui-Chai stopped a few paces from JJ, his sharp eyes appraising her as if calculating her potential. There was an intensity to his gaze that made her uncomfortable, but she held her ground, refusing to be intimidated.
"You're the one they say can reach the demon," Niclas said, his voice smooth, but there was a hardened edge to it. He studied her, his lips curling slightly. "I've heard much about you."
"Y-yes, that's right. I don't know if I can be of any assistance to your organization though," JJ said, her voice shaky.
Osalf nodded slowly, studying her. "I see. But I believe we have some aligning values, Jedo. Let's be honest, things haven't been great for you—and the truth is, it's in your best interest if the kingdom crumbles."
JJ frowned, the unease inside her growing. "Aligning values?" she echoed.
Niclas stepped forward, his tone lowering as if imparting a secret. "The kingdom is planning to rip your land apart, Jedo. They intend to put you to hang once Ty, the demon, is killed during the second stage. And trust me, they are orchestrating his death to be dramatic—something twisted, something that will make you an example to the rest. They want everyone to see it."
The words hit JJ like a punch to the chest.
