From Imp to Demon God: Conquering the Demon World With a Succubus-Chapter 59: A Perfect Place
They tilted their heads upward as she said, "That elevated platform is called Dais of Authority. Below of His Majesty’s statue stood the headmaster’s throne-seat, Lord of Contract, the only Demon Lord of the Vampire race, who currently managed the Crown of Crimson Oath.
The other seats were for instructors. I also have a seat there."
Her tone on the last sentence shifted to a boastful one. Rose simply chuckled, as the Guardian of Scarlet Bond turned around, and the succubus paved the way for her.
However, she remained in her position and said, "Currently, we are standing on the ceremonial duel circle. It is normally sealed and dormant, and thus, appearing to be a normal circle. But, if you noticed, the central assembly floor and the dais of authority seemed to be facing this circular space."
Violet and others glanced at the circular space and only now noticed how bizarre it is to have a spacious center between the central assembly floor and dais of authority.
Even the upper balconies seemed to be pointing at the circle.
She turned around again, causing Rose and others to promptly follow her.
The Guardian of Scarlet Bond said, "Lastly, the short stairway leading to the headmaster’s throne seat is called Blood Oath Steps. You will individually ascend there later during the Crimson Matriculation.
Once you ascend, turning back without permission is disgraceful."
They gazed at the Dias of Authority for sometime. Rose and other seniors, who were already used to being up close to the Dias of Authority, had the same emotion from the very first encounter she had.
The aura emanating from the Dias of Authority made her recall when she was about to get enrolled, as though reminding her that she would never be able to get accustomed to the authority imposed by the Demon King.
Furthermore, the Demon King statue above the headmaster’s throne-seat was a nail—that even if she was granted the headmaster’s throne-seat, she was still nothing but a vassal to the Demon King, no matter the status.
The Guardian of Scarlet Bond interrupted her thoughts, saying, "There are discreet archways leading to the knight wing, noble wing, archives, and observation levels.
Rose, instruct your Blood Knight to lead the others to settle them with their dome. You will also lead Violet and others to their dorm. I will stay here. The quick adventure is finished now, you can rest at your dorm."
The Guardian of Scarlet Bond turned towards Myles and said, "As for your deal with the Guardian of Obsidian Descent, return here after you settle in the dorm. You only have an hour. Also, give the Velour Coffin Satchel to Violet. Get whatever you need from the Velour Coffin Satchel before your seniors will lead you."
Myles bowed deeply and said, "I understand, Guardian of Scarlet Bond. Thank you."
Myles then walked towards Violet and politely passed the Velour Coffin Satchel to her. He even helped her put it at Violet’s back, causing Violet to roll her eyes.
She thought. It’s like yesterday you just threw that to me.
The Guardian of Scarlet Bond noticed her reaction to Myles assisting her with the Velour Coffin Satchel and inwardly sneered.
As expected, their master and servant relationship is only on the surface. Sigh. I miss my Blood Knight.
She tasked her Blood Knight with a secret mission. It has been a year since he was on a mission and the last report that the Guardian of Scarlet Bond received from him was half a year ago. However, she was not worried about his current condition since she has the artifact that would inform her if he died.
As she was lost in thoughts, the Blood Knight and the succubus bowed towards her and parted ways.
...
Myles was being led in the iron archway, leading to the knight zone. A massive arch of blackened steel and obsidian was into the Grand Hall’s inner wall.
It was carved with worn weapon reliefs—swords, halberds, and more strange demonic weapons.
When he crossed through it, he felt like stepping into heavier air, the sound became dull and his instinct was sharpened.
He then entered into a long, straight corridor with a stone floor scarred by centuries of armored boots.
The ceiling was low compared to the Grand Hall, seemingly deliberate to induce oppression.
The walls were reinforced with rune-lined plates to absorb stray aura and impacts.
In the end, they reached the other end of the corridor, opening into a sudden brutal, open space.
There were multiple combat circles carved directly into black stone platform.
There were also semi-enclosed courtyards branching off the main grounds on the east.
Rose Blood Knight paused and said, "You see those semi-enclosed courtyards? Each court is dedicated to a knight race. We will spar, train, and discuss with each other until we gain mastery in our techniques."
They walked passed through training grounds, arriving in front of the knight dormitory gates.
There were twin iron gates etched with race insignia.
There were no knights guarding the knight dormitory gates.
Suddenly, Rose Blood Knight walked forward and the gate opened by itself inwardly.
He said, "There are no locks, entry is enforced by presence, not barriers."
Myles then swept his gaze. The interior of the knight dormitory was built with stone, seemingly appearing to be a fortress.
They soon entered and Myles discovered it doesn’t seem like the walls were reinforced with runes that appeared to observe them.
Rose’ Knight said, "We will share a single room in the Knight Dormitory—all of the Blood Knight race owned by the succubus houses. The Knight Dormitory walls are not imbued with sigils. In other words, anything can happen inside the Knight Dormitory. However, if you ever get caught harming other knights, you will be killed immediately."
Myles was astonished. His body shuddered. Rose’ Knight thought Myles might be terrified, since he must have offended the Shadowbind Knight.
However, Myles’ thought otherwise.
This is a place perfect for me!
