From Imp to Demon God: Conquering the Demon World With a Succubus-Chapter 63: Core Laws Of the Royal Academy
[The Sovereign of the Black Web has been registered as an epic rank skill.
Do you want to read the descriptions.]
"Please do."
A wall of texts manifested in front of Myles, skimming them while walking behind the Guardian of Scarlet Bond.
[The Sovereign of the Black Web.
Description: an epic rank skill born from the upgraded version of the Black Marionette Rite to be compatible with the Shadow Manipulation. With this skill, you declare all shadows within your domain as extensions of your nervous system. Thus, every shadow becomes a living conduit of Shadow Thread. Enemies stepping into shadow you controlled are instantly bound or sliced once the shadow sensed your killing intent. You can also manifest limbs, blades, or restraints directly from the shadows. Furthermore, any threats directed at you will instantly be intercepted by the shadows, only if you failed to notice them. Any concealment on your domain will instantly be revealed by your shadows.
Limitations (Warning): Bright, absolute light fractures the web easily, particularly from the law of light. Maintaining the domain, especially when you expanded them or enhanced your domain with demonic energy drains demonic energy rapidly. Lastly, be careful of incubus or other demon nobles with shadow affinity, who can contest control.]
Since the wall of texts was quite enormous and words seemed to be endless, Myles simply skimmed through it and gained a light grasp about the Sovereign of the Black Web.
Adding limitations is a great idea. At least, I’m warned of the limitations despite it being an epic rank skill.
As Myles was lost in thought, he was awakened from the realization had already returned to the Grand Hall. He was distracted for a bit, seeing many different demons and knights standing at the central assembly floor.
The Guardian of Scarlet Bond woke him up from his stupor.
"Go to where your fellow knights are, to the left. You don’t need to look for Violet."
Without waiting for Myles’ response, the Guardian of Scarlet Bond disappeared and sat beside the Guardian of Obsidian Descent, who greeted her with a nod.
She didn’t even bother to respond, simply sweeping her gaze around and discovering only the headmaster had not appeared yet.
Myles quietly walked towards where the other knight cadets were, while observing the other knights. So far, a knight race with a flaming greatsword behind their back, seemingly taller than him, posed a threat.
Once he arrived with the other knight cadet, the second knight cadet, Pink’s Blood Knight, said, "You’re finally back. We were worried about you."
Myles nodded and turned around. He saw the Captain and the Sergeants, standing a bit far from them. The juniors and seniors appeared to be divided with an aisle.
The Captain gestured for him to stand straight and focused forward, compelling Myles to follow his order.
They stood in silence, as Myles observed the instructors, coming from different demon noble races, on the elevated balconies.
The crimson sigils faintly glowed across the floor, pillars, and railings.
The silence was deafening, murmur barely echoed, originating mostly from the new batch of students. When Myles observed his seniors, they were quiet—discipline appeared to have been integrated into them.
As Myles was observing them, his instinct screamed. He swiftly swept his gaze and stared at the demon noble, staring imposingly at the headmaster throne-seat. His presence seemed to be non-existent. If it was not for Myles sharp senses.
Myles gazed at him for a split-second, enough to obtain information of his appearance before looking elsewhere to avoid getting his attention.
He was tall and immaculately composed, with skin pale as polished bone and eyes that glow a restrained, ceremonial crimson. He resembled a fairy tale about vampires Myles knew of back on Earth.
He lowered his gaze and waited patiently, while it seemed most of the knight race, quiet or not, failed to notice his presence.
Even demon nobles, who were chit-chatting, were unable to perceive his presence.
However, only the seniors, knight and demon nobles, were aware.
A minute later, at exactly the time the Crimson Matriculation must commence, a wave of demonic energy swept through demon nobles and knights.
Every demon placed their attention to the origin of the monstrous demonic energy wave.
They were awestruck it belonged to the Vampire Lord, who sat at the headmaster’s throne-seat.
Without hesitation, every noble, even the instructors, stood up and greeted him by bowing.
The Vampire Lord nodded and stood up. He turned around and kneeled on the Demon King Statue. Every noble followed him without hesitation.
After a while, the Vampire Lord returned to his seat and said, "The Crimson Matriculation officially begins."
A demonic energy wave swept every nobles again, warning them to behave and be attentive during the whole process.
A vampire, seemingly a proxy, soon appeared beside the Vampire Lord while carrying a massive book. He opened it and coughed.
He said, "I will state aloud the Core Laws of the Royal Academy.
First Core Law, Authority and Obedience.
Academy Law is Absolute. Orders from Faculty Are Binding Commands.
Punishment: Expulsion. Rank Suppression."
The first core law was brief and direct, yet the students instantly comprehended the whole gist of the first law, containing two sub laws.
Within the academy grounds, academy law overrides all bloodline, noble, and city law. Even dukes might not interfere without formal sanction.
Furthermore, instructors might issue lethal or irreversible orders during training. Refusal was considered as an academic insubordination, not personal choice.
"The Second Core Law. Violence and Combat.
Killing is Regulated, Not Forbidden. Duels Must be Registered. Interference Is a Greater Crime Than Defeat."
When Myles heard the second core law, he did not need descriptions of each of the sub laws. He instantly understood them.
"The Third Core Law.
Blood, Contracts and Sigils.
Blood Contracts Are Enforceable on Campus. Forbidden Sigils Are Not Forbidden, Only Unforgiven. Sigil Tampering Is High Treason."
Myles was a bit perplexed by the third core law, primarily because he did not understand the essence of it, especially about the concept of sigils.
In the end, he swore to study about it, even though he assumed only demon nobles were able to do so.
