Myles nodded. The Veil Stalker was now kneeling at him.

Seeing him kneel with one knee caused Myles’ eyebrow to raise. In the end, he sighed.

I guess, I’m not powerful enough to receive as much respect as they have to the Demon King.

Myles wouldn’t complain. His current nobility rank was only at the knight. Perhaps, they would kneel and kowtow if he reached the Baron rank.

However, for them to bang their heads?

Myles didn’t know and could only shrug at the possibilities of it happening.

He turned towards the Veil Stalkers and asked, "You’re the thirtyfourth knight sergeant, right?"

"Yes, Master."

"Call me, Emperor."

"Yes, Emperor."

Myles nodded, satisfied. Every time he heard them address him as Emperor, a wave of satisfaction washed him until his very soul.

Myles suddenly contemplated. It’s only the thirtyfourth knight sergeant. There are still thirty three more powerful than the current one. I almost missed his presence earlier, so I must expect that the future knight sergeant might fully conceal his presence.

Myles already had a headache facing Veil Stalkers. It wasn’t even their innate demonic art that caused them to hide their presence.

Their innate demonic art instead helped them escape quickly and attack as swiftly as they could.

It’s because of their armor.

Myles inquired the Veil Stalkers earlier if their armors were sigils artifact and they denied without hesitation. The armor was simply born as an extension of their body. The stronger their demonic core was, the stronger their armor—as well as their properties unique to their race.

In other words, their existential traits.

However, their armor was similar to sigil artifacts anyway. Hence, the creation of sigil artifacts was widely observed by the Demon King and other demon noble races. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Myles then proceeded to inquire to the Veil Stalkers on the primary reason why he was early compared to others. Myles was completely taken aback by his presence.

The Veil Stalker explained it was simply because of the bet they made with other knight sergeants, including the knight captain.

Myles fell into deep contemplation and said, "Alright. Just continue with the usual, then. Give a similar report like others. And leave only if you have to."

The Veil Stalker instantly replied, "I understand, Emperor. Your will is my command."

Myles nodded, satisfied.

He was about to rest and sleep when he realized he was being lazy again. Hence, without hesitation, he sat in a lotus position and continued to meditate, increasing his mastery of his demonic energy as well as his perception using shadow manipulation.

The Veil Stalker, on the other hand, waited patiently until the Emperor himself experimented with him, causing him to utilize his innate demonic art every now and then.

...

The next day, Myles dueled with an Eidolon Sentinel again. He conquered him while acting to struggle for a bit, wanting to get accustomed to their innate demonic art called Dream Cage, but ended the duel with complete domination by standing above the Eidolon Sentinel who was staring at him with extreme terror on the floor.

As much as he wanted to obtain their innate demonic art, he restrained himself and was a bit satisfied after hearing the voice in his head announcing that he gained another follower.

Now, it was their time for the arena to release demonic energy of the Law of Charm for the Blood Knights to develop resistance.

As usual, Myles lasted for half an hour, leaving the Commander, who could only sigh as he was still getting accustomed to traveling to the noble department, to ask for Guardian of Scarlet Bond’s assistance.

He was surprised, however, when he saw her carrying a book instead of her usual hand fan.

The Guardian of Scarlet Bond noticed his gaze and giggled.

She did not explain as the Commander hastily led her to the arena.

Once they arrived, the Guardian of Scarlet Bond consumed the concentrated demonic energy of the law of charm from each souls of the Blood Knight.

She was surprised when she realized the numbers of the Blood Knights present was higher than the usual.

She glanced at Myles and grinned.

Ever since the other blood knights heard the strange phenomenon in the arena, they did not hesitate to pause their mission to grab the opportunity presented to them.

I wonder, if this guy took the chance to get to know his seniors.

In fact, Myles barely socialized with them. He limited his words to remind them he did not prefer interacting with them.

Hence, for the past few days, he barely has any interactions with other Blood Knights, not even from his fellow knight cadets.

The Commander of the Blood Knights interrupted the Guardian of Scarlet Bond’s thoughts as he appeared in front of her and bowed.

As usual, he expressed his gratitude towards her.

However, this time, to the Commander’s surprise yet within his expectations, the Guardian of Scarlet Bond pushed the book towards the Commander and said, "Give this to him once he wakes up."

The Commander tilted his head upwards and accepted the book politely. He glanced at the cover and was surprised it was indeed a demonic art of the succubus race.

He thought. She really gave it... that easy?

The Commander had so many doubts he wanted to slap his face to know if it was really the reality.

He was lost in thoughts he did not even notice the Guardian of Scarlet Bond had already vanished, leaving the other Commanders a chance to inquire about the book she handed to him.

The Commander shook his head and did not disclose enough information to satisfy them.

He simply waited for Myles to wake up and finally handed the book.

Myles accepted the book with a wide grin on his face.

Even when his face was covered by the helm, the Commander rolled his eyes and said, "Wipe that grin off of your face."

Myles simply chuckled and nodded. He bowed towards the Commander and said, "Thank you, Commander! I owe you a favor."

The Commander replied, "Just don’t do something like this in the future."

Myles simply chuckled and did not reply, causing the Commander to sigh helpless.

The Commander focused on the other Blood Knights, giving Myles a chance to finally read the title of the book.

However, when he read them, he was dumbfounded.

"Sovereign Kiss."
