From Imp to Demon God: Conquering the Demon World With a Succubus-Chapter 94: Viscounty Requirements
What Myles had an idea in mind after reading all the Empire status was he must establish a territory.
He thought for a while and asked the voice in his head, "If I conquer the knight department, will the whole area be recognized as my territory?"
[Unfortunately, no. In the end, the knight department belongs to the Royal Academy, which is inside the area of the Noctyrris city, which is under the territory of the Demon Lord, a vassal to the Demon King.
If you truly wish to establish a territory, it would be fine if it’s inside the area of the demon king’s territory, but it should not be under his rule and his vassal. Just find an empty land. Once I determine it’s enough to sustain you and your followers, the territory will officially be established.
And the Ancient Demon of Gluttony will provide a domain bonus as he promised.]
Myles nodded.
He was glad that the voice in his head was answering his inquiries.
He asked again, "How many followers do I need to ascend my nobility rank to viscount."
[Before I tell you, you must know that the standard that I and the Ancient Demon of Gluttony has agreed upon was lessened considerably because of your circumstances. You’re currently inside the territory of the Demon King and planning to overthrow him to fully establish your kingdom.
That was why the baron status only requires you a hundred followers.
However, for you to reach the viscount nobility requires a hundred thousand followers.]
Myles frowned. He clearly did not expect the amount needed for him to ascend to viscounty. He thought at first it would only require him a thousand, or even ten thousand would make sense.
He asked, "Why is that?"
[Because the viscount status will reflect your current prowess as a kingdom as a whole. We changed the barony’s description to the idea that your kingdom is still in the embryonic phase and as long as you gather a hundred followers, it should suffice in giving you the courage to pursue building your Empire.
And if you’ve ascended into viscount status, a hundred thousand followers simply means there will be massive changes to your Empire status. Don’t worry, for now, you have to focus on gathering your followers and establish your territory furtively.]
Myles nodded. He recalled that once he became a senior, he could now leave the city and use the mission to search for a perfect territory to establish. Of course, he would finally make use of his Order of Grey Horizon, too.
They were the perfect demons to scout unknown lands to conquer.
As Myles finally settled with the voice in his head, he woke up into reality and swept his gaze around.
All the Chain Knights, including the knight captain, were subdued. They currently kneeled with one knee and bowed deeply, awaiting for his instructions.
Myles assigned the knight captain as officially the first edict acolyte. Their Commander, once he subdued him, would become the first Edict Enforcer, a rank higher than the edict acolyte.
Of course, since he was now a baron, Myles would re-assign his future followers accordingly. If the first followers who gained the first rank were suddenly demoted, he would simply encourage them to earn it instead and prove he was better for the first position than the demon who replaced him.
It was as simple as that, their loyalty to him was already near impossible to change after enslaving them.
Myles glanced at the first edict acolyte and said, "Report to your Commander that the silhouette is actually true. There was a trace of buried artifacts in this place and you were afraid of digging it up in case something went awry. You asked for his opinion but when he allowed you to dig it up, try suggesting that it would be better for him to come here by himself.
I’ll be waiting."
Before the knight captain expressed his desire to execute his order, Myles already disappeared at a far distance.
Myles was standing atop the branch of a massive tree, as the first shadow initiate, the knight captain of the Veil Stalker, kneeled with one knee in front of him.
Myles glanced at him and heard him saying, "I have an urgent report, Emperor."
"Go ahead."
"The knight captain of the brand templars managed to convince the Commander of the Brand Templar to temporarily imprison you. He’s already on his way to your dormitory."
Myles raised his eyebrow. He did not expect there was a sudden execution of imprisoning him to occur in the middle of the night.
Without saying anything, he disappeared and returned to his dormitory.
...
When the blood knights perceived their Emperor had returned to their dormitory, they were about to greet him when the Emperor himself waved his hand and said, "Go on and let’s continue to discuss some stupid things. A stupid idiot is about to come here."
The blood knights were visibly surprised when they sensed their Emperor was quite displeased.
Myles couldn’t help it. Although he was quite pleased that a knight came here by himself to convert to him, the fact they were daring now at this time simply meant the other knights would begin making his move against him.
He grumbled. That simply means they noticed that something strange happened to the Commander of the Blood Knights. Damn it. At least, I can make use of this advantage to mine, but the suspicion would only increase if the Brand Templar failed.
Because it only meant one thing, my ability to what they believed was brainwashing was true.
I have to play along with them, huh?
Myles understood why the Brand Templar were making a move. Although the knight department’s eyes were already blinded, they could still use their other senses to suspect him about the strange thing that occurred to which they never missed.
As Myles waited, the door of the dormitory was knocked.
The Commander of the Blood Knights opened the door and saw the knight captain of the Brand Templar presenting him a piece of paper.
