Chapter 712: The Day Micah Bought Animal Pyjamas for His Husband

Micah stepped out of the restaurant and paused for a moment just outside the entrance, letting the glass door close softly behind him. The moment he stepped onto the pedestrian street, a gentle wave of warmth brushed against his face.

It was the middle of spring, and the afternoon city seemed to glow under the soft golden sunlight.

The sky above was a clear, tender blue, streaked with thin drifting clouds that moved lazily across the horizon. Sunlight spilled over the buildings and reflected off glass windows, making the entire street shimmer faintly as if coated in warm honey. A mild breeze carried the faint scent of blooming flowers mixed with roasted coffee from nearby cafés.

Micah slowly began walking down the pedestrian road.

The street was lively but not overwhelmingly crowded. Office workers, students, tourists, and families all moved through the wide walkway, their voices blending together into a pleasant hum of city life. Some people strolled casually with shopping bags swinging from their wrists, while others hurried past with phones pressed to their ears, discussing business or gossip.

Micah’s steps were unhurried. He slipped one hand into his pocket while the other held the small bag Georgina had given him earlier at lunch. For once, he had no schedule to rush toward and no pressing responsibilities demanding his attention. The gentle warmth of the sun soaked into his shoulders, loosening the tension in his body.

It felt... peaceful. After the accident, the situation around him had changed in subtle but noticeable ways.

Those four men, the ones whose presence had once seemed unavoidable, had completely vanished from his surroundings.

For the past several weeks, it was as if they had collectively entered seclusion. None of them had appeared near him. No unexpected encounters. No suspicious coincidences. No awkward confrontations.

It was almost suspiciously quiet. But honestly, Micah couldn’t care less. He didn’t bother wondering why they had disappeared or what they were doing. Whatever reasons they had for staying away had nothing to do with him anymore. If they wanted to disappear, then good riddance.

More importantly, their absence had created an unexpected benefit. Clyde had reduced his monitoring. Well... at least slightly.

Micah suspected Clyde was still keeping an eye on him in some way, because that man had the protective instincts of an overly territorial guard dog. But compared to before, the restrictions had clearly loosened. Either Clyde believed the danger had passed, or those four had finally learned to keep their distance.

Either way, Micah found the situation extremely satisfactory.

He walked past several boutiques and cafés, glancing casually at the window displays.

A bookstore displayed rows of colourful covers arranged in neat pyramids. A bakery nearby had trays of freshly baked pastries stacked behind the glass counter, and the warm smell of butter and sugar drifted onto the street.

Without realising it, Micah slowed down near a recently opened design store. The storefront was sleek and modern. The large display windows revealed carefully arranged outfits.

Micah tilted his head slightly. On impulse, he pushed open the door and stepped inside. A small bell chimed softly above the entrance.

The interior of the store was quiet compared to the bustling street outside. Soft instrumental music played in the background while several customers browsed through racks of clothing.

Micah walked slowly between the displays, examining the fabrics and designs with casual interest. His gaze drifted toward the back of the store. And then he stopped. His eyes landed on a display set arranged near the rear wall. A pair of couple pyjamas hung side by side on mannequins.

The moment Micah saw them, his lips slowly curled upward. The designs were... ridiculous.

Both sets were covered in bright, playful patterns. Cartoon animals, rabbits, bears, foxes, and tiny pandas, were scattered across the soft fabric like a chaotic parade of adorable nonsense. Micah stared at them for several seconds. Then the expression in his eyes slowly filled with mischief.

Making Clyde wear these...

The mental image formed instantly in his mind. Clyde, tall, serious, composed Clyde, standing there wearing pastel-colored pyjamas covered with cheerful animal faces.

Micah almost burst out laughing right there in the store. That would absolutely be a sight to behold. The corner of his mouth lifted in a smug smirk. Without hesitation, he reached out and pulled two sets from the rack, quickly selecting the sizes that would fit both of them. Satisfied with his purchase, he carried the pyjamas toward the cashier’s counter. But just as he approached, voices from nearby drifted into his ears.

Three girls stood beside a display rack, whispering to each other while holding several pieces of clothing.

"What’s up with that celebrity you were a fan of?"

"Hmm?"

"I mean Leo, you know, the one who played in that historical drama you liked so much."

Micah slowed his steps slightly. His ears immediately perked up.

"Oh..." the second girl sighed. "I’m not going to support him again."

"Why?"

"Do you know how many fan meetings he’s cancelled in the past two months? And not just that. I heard he breached contracts with two dramas."

"What?"

"Yeah. Two major productions. He backed out without any explanation. No statement. No apology. Nothing."

The first girl frowned. "Seriously?"

"Seriously. Fans are really upset about it. There’s a lot of dissatisfaction building up. It’s not just me."

The other girl looked shocked. "Wow... do you think he’s gotten too famous and doesn’t care about fans anymore?"

The first girl shrugged. "Who knows? Anyway... good luck to his new company. Things are blowing up everywhere."

Micah’s jaw tightened. The new company they were talking about... Was his. His company!

Micah gritted his teeth so hard his molars nearly cracked.

That useless idiot Leo! Who the hell did he think he was, wasting Micah’s money like that?!

Micah quickly placed the pyjamas on the counter and paid without another word. The moment he stepped outside the store, he immediately pulled out his phone. His fingers moved rapidly across the screen as he searched social media for any news related to Leo.

Several articles appeared. One headline mentioned that Leo had cancelled two drama projects. Another briefly referenced his recent absence from public activities. But strangely, there wasn’t much hype. No massive scandal. No trending topics.

Micah frowned. There was also nothing specifically mentioning angry fans. His brows furrowed in confusion. Then suddenly he remembered something. Micah quickly tapped Clyde’s contact number, preparing to call him and ask for Leo’s manager’s information. But just before the call connected, he hesitated.

Clyde... That man was basically a walking vinegar jar. If he heard Micah was worrying about Leo, he would definitely become jealous again.

Micah slowly lowered the phone. "Forget it." Instead, he switched his WeChat account.

His username changed to: SugerPlumFairyisLeo’sWife.

He cringed the moment he saw the name. God, what was he thinking picking this name? Was he possessed or something? Ah... the embarrassment!

He tried not to look at his humiliating username and opened the fan group instead. The group chat exploded onto the screen.

Messages were flying past faster than he could read. The once peaceful fan group, nicknamed The Majestic King, had turned into a battlefield.

KingRuleOverMe: I’m done stanning him! How could he do this to us?!

HisMajestyMuffin: Calm down. Maybe he has personal problems.

KingRuleOverMe: Once is an accident. Twice is a stretch. Three times is definitely intentional!

Leo’sThirdConcubine: I’m really disappointed. When everyone was trashing him before, talking shit, we didn’t abandon him. Now that he soared into the sky, now that he’s successful, he doesn’t need us anymore?

TheKingMarshmallow: Exactly!

CozyLioness: Wait, he cancelled this week’s fan meeting too?! What the hell?

LeoLuvsMe: Big Sister @LioNessQueen where are you? Do you know something?

NumberOneKingFan: @Leo’sFirstConcubine, Sister Meg, do you know what’s happening?

KingFourthLioness: Neither of them has been online for a while.

Micah stared at the screen. His fingers hovered over the keyboard. He started typing. Then stopped.

What was he supposed to say? "Don’t worry, I’ll ask Leo personally?" That would immediately expose him.

Micah deleted the message and exited the group chat. He stood there silently for several seconds. Thinking.

Honestly, he could already guess why Leo had disappeared for two months. It was probably connected to what had happened to him. By now, Micah was almost certain that those four men remembered the past. But he had deliberately brushed them off. He had made it clear he didn’t want any connection with them anymore. Even the possibility of entanglement with those four made his stomach twist in disgust.

He was going to forget the past and move on. Not even attempting to seek revenge. He wanted to live with Clyde, without the painful past hanging over them.

But now... Micah exhaled slowly. This situation was different. Because now money was involved. His money.

Leo’s actions were directly damaging his entertainment company. Micah rubbed his temple irritably. He could easily imagine why Clyde hadn’t told him about it. Maybe Clyde was secretly happy Leo was suffering.

Micah snorted. But he couldn’t ignore it. After all the effort he had invested into clearing Leo’s name... after pulling him out of Twilight Entertainment... How could he just watch everything collapse now?

Micah clenched his phone tightly, cursing Leo from top to bottom. Then suddenly he remembered something. Leo had a younger brother. Luca. That useless guy.

Micah scrolled through his contacts and found the number he had previously blocked.

With a sharp tap, he unblocked it and immediately called. The phone rang once. Twice. Then connected. The moment the call went through, Micah didn’t waste a second.

"Where is that jerk?!" he barked.

The voice on the other side sounded stunned. "Is... is that really you? Micah Ramsy?"

Micah’s eyebrow twitched. "What? Did you dare to delete my number?!"

"No! No!" Luca panicked. "I was just surprised! I never thought I’d get a call from you..."

Micah rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Listen. Where is Leo? What the hell is he doing?"

There was a long pause. Then Luca spoke quietly. "He’s... not doing well."

Micah frowned. "What do you mean?"

Luca hesitated. "He’s completely wrecked. He barely eats. We have to convince him just to drink water."

Micah’s forehead creased.

"We tried to contact you," Luca continued nervously, "but Leo forbade us."

Micah rubbed his temple again. "I get it," he muttered. Then he sighed. "Send me your home address. I’ll come over."

"Huh?" Luca sounded shocked. "Whose home?"

Micah stared at the phone. "Your family home! The one you and your brother live in!"

"...Really?"

Micah rolled his eyes so hard he almost saw the back of his skull. What was wrong with this guy? Had he finally lost the few brain cells he had left? Did Luca think the queen was requesting an audience or something?

"Yes. Really," Micah said flatly. "Send it."

"Okay! Right away! Thank you!" Luca sounded strangely excited.

Micah hung up immediately. "Idiot," he muttered.

Taking a deep breath, Micah headed back toward the penthouse. When he arrived, he dropped Georgina’s gift and the ridiculous pyjamas onto the couch. A message appeared on his phone.

Luca had sent the address.

Micah glanced at it once. Then he grabbed his phone and walked out again.
