Full-Level Fierce Person-Chapter 34 Red
34: 34 Red
34: 34 Red
Not long after, the second dish was presented.
Spicy Roasted Duck!
The duck skin had turned a reddish-brown, its surface glossy, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the aroma bountiful.
The smoky scent merged perfectly with the meat’s fragrance, with a layer of stir-fried chili powder added on top.
The salty base flavor complemented the spiciness, making one drool with desire and unable to forget the taste after.
The only regret was the absence of pancakes.
The people of this world seemed not yet to have discovered the endless allure of duck meat wrapped in pancakes.
Even so, Fang Zhixing and Xigou thoroughly enjoyed their meal, unable to stop themselves.
The third dish was boiled fish.
The fish, caught from the Xiaoqing River, was a sturgeon known not only for its delicate flesh and delicious taste but also for having few bones, making it especially suitable for eating with rice.
“Slurp, slurp~”
Fang Zhixing indulged himself, devouring the food like a whirlwind.
Xigou also ate until full, lamenting its young age and small appetite, unable to eat as much as Fang Zhixing.
“Burp~”
Fang Zhixing set down his porcelain bowl, wiped his mouth, and let out a loud, satisfied burp.
They cleaned up all three dishes, leaving not a drop of soup or oil behind.
Seeing this, Xigou scornfully said, “Look at the way you eat, you even licked the plate clean, isn’t that embarrassing?”
“You know nothing!”
Fang Zhixing patted his belly contentedly and said, “Wasting is a disgrace, saving is glorious!”
Ashamed to associate with him, Xigou glanced at the clean plate and spoke wordlessly, “I’m not a person, but you’re truly a dog.”
Fang Zhixing humphed, “You’re full, aren’t you?
So much nonsense.”
Amid their argument, two figures leant on each other and stepped into the restaurant.
They were two men!
One of the men was quite young, about fifteen or sixteen years old, with a physique as slender as a woman’s.
His face was painted with cosmetics, and he was dressed in a tight waist dress and embroidered shoes; at a quick glance, it was difficult to distinguish his gender.
The other middle-aged man was strong and bald, with an appearance strikingly similar to Lu Zhishen, muscular and powerful.
These two men, hand in hand, were intimately close, seemingly inseparable.
“Shopkeeper, you’ve arrived!”
The shopkeeper and waiters hurriedly greeted them, bowing and scraping.
The bald man was none other than Chen Yusheng, the only son of Master Chen.
“Hmm, how has the business been these past few days?”
Chen Yusheng walked into the main hall with his hands clasped behind his back, appearing utterly unconcerned.
“Oh, speaking to the master, while business hasn’t been great, our revenue isn’t bad…” The shopkeeper followed him, reporting earnestly.
Suddenly, Chen Yusheng stopped in his tracks, turned his head, and his eyes fell upon Fang Zhixing and Xigou.
His brows furrowed in displeasure, “What’s this?
How did a dog get in here?”
The shopkeeper quickly explained, “Master, that’s not a stray dog, it’s that gentleman’s pet.”
The waiter added, “That gentleman really likes the dog, he even feeds it meat.”
“Oh?”
Upon hearing this, Chen Yusheng couldn’t help but scrutinize Fang Zhixing carefully and then focused on Xigou, turned his head away, but then snapped it back sharply.
Suddenly, as if he had discovered something incredible, he strode over, his eyes fixated on Xigou, unable to look away.
“Hey, what’s the big idea?”
Xigou, caught by surprise by the intense stare of a bald man, was startled and growled softly.
Fang Zhixing’s brows furrowed slightly, and he glanced sideways at Chen Yusheng.
His muscles tensed slightly, ready for battle at a moment’s notice.
“Is this your dog?”
Chen Yusheng asked, without even glancing at Fang Zhixing.
Fang Zhixing raised an eyebrow and replied, “Yes, it’s my dog, what about it?”
Chen Yusheng’s eyes shone as he said directly, “I’ll buy it.
Name your price.”
Fang Zhixing was taken aback.
“What, buy me?”
Xigou, utterly bewildered, bristled and said, “What’s this guy’s problem?
He isn’t into eating dog meat, is he?”
Fang Zhixing paused for a moment and then shook his head, “My dog is not for sale.”
Chen Yusheng tilted his head and stared down Fang Zhixing.
He pulled out a gold bean and smacked it on the table, boasting, “I’ll give you a gold bean.”
“No amount of money will persuade me to sell.”
Fang Zhixing’s attitude was resolute, and having said that, he got up from his seat and walked outside.
Xigou followed close behind him, step by step.
Chen Yusheng watched them leave, squinting his eyes as his expression shifted unpredictably.
Moments later, the man and dog were walking on the street.
Fang Zhixing transmitted a message, “Is anybody following us?”
Xigou replied, “I haven’t noticed anyone, have you?”
Fang Zhixing shook his head slightly.
Xigou pondered, “Strange, what exactly did that cripple see in me?”
Fang Zhixing also found it odd and took a careful look at Xigou from head to toe.
Presently, Xigou was only a few months old and, even though he had the Maned Wolf Bloodline, he didn’t show anything that would make him stand out from other dogs.
Suddenly, Fang Zhixing squatted down and transmitted, “Xigou, open your mouth and let me see.”
Xigou opened his mouth wide, whining, “Do you see anything?”
Fang Zhixing looked closely, and his eyebrows involuntarily rose.
He saw that Xigou’s two longest canine teeth were oddly colored, white tinged with red.
The roots of the teeth were mostly the normal milky white, but the tips were red, bright crimson like blood.
They shone like rubies when the sunlight fell on them.
Fang Zhixing thought back carefully, and remembered the bald man entering from the door while the sunlight was shining through the entrance into the hall.
From his position…
“So that’s it.”
Fang Zhixing clicked his tongue, “Xigou, you’ve got red canine teeth.”
Xigou initially was stunned, then, after thinking a bit, said with realization, “I have Poison Teeth; those red canines must be them.”
Fang Zhixing mused, “That cripple has really sharp eyes, to notice something unusual about you with just a few glances.”
On hearing this, Xigou couldn’t help but feel smug, “Hmph, it’s because you look down on a dog, unable to see my charm.”
Fang Zhixing rolled his eyes and headed towards South Street, quickly finding a clothing store.
“Shopkeeper, do you have any clothes suitable for martial arts practitioning?” Fang Zhixing asked.
The shopkeeper was a middle-aged, portly uncle who took a look at Fang Zhixing and said with a smile, “I have all kinds of clothes here.
Do you have the money?”
Fang Zhixing had no choice but to shake his money pouch.
Seeing this, the shopkeeper immediately became enthusiastic and started introducing, “Martial arts practitioning involves lots of big movements, so the best style for you would be a short martial arts jacket…”
A short while later, Fang Zhixing had changed into a black, bat-patterned short martial arts jacket.
It fit neatly and unassumingly luxurious, exuding a bold and valiant aura.
Given that his body might continue to develop and become even stronger and more imposing.
Fang Zhixing intentionally chose one size larger, which made it a bit loose but did not hinder his movement.
The shopkeeper was generous, giving him a ribbon for free and even helping Fang Zhixing to tie up his hair and secure it with the ribbon.
In an instant, the image of a Jianghu young hero, full of valor and spirit, sprang vividly to mind.
In one word, handsome!
Fang Zhixing couldn’t help but be in high spirits, very satisfied with the outcome.
Xigou looked on with envy.
In his past life, he had fantasized countless times about the martial hero dream: carefree youth, living life to the fullest, stepping out with a smile to see the world amidst thousands of miles of falling flowers.
Seeing his reaction, the shopkeeper quickly pushed a sale: “Customer, do you want to add a short cloak?
It’s windproof and waterproof.”
“Waterproof?” Fang Zhixing said quickly, “Bring it out for me to see.”
Soon enough, a bright yellow short cloak was added to his martial arts jacket, adding a touch of the dashing hero.
“People rely on clothing as horses rely on saddles!”
Fang Zhixing transmitted a message, “Xigou, what do you think?”
Xigou turned away, “Boring!
Stop being so full of yourself.
It’s a waste of money.”
Fang Zhixing chuckled, “Is that so?
I had thought about getting one for you too, but ah well, never mind.”
“Woof woof!!!”
A moment later, the man and dog emerged from the clothing store.
Fang Zhixing’s demeanor had completely transformed, now the very picture of a wandering young hero.
And Xigou was also sporting a floral garment, casual and sprightly, feeling it suited his taste.
