Futanari System-Chapter 283 : A Growing Situation
PoV Unknown
The darkness in the room was palpable, and everyone was glaring at each other. This room was filled with every single Elite family of the Dragonic, with the exception of a few servants and B rankers who would execute the orders. The Elder Council of Dragonic Dragon's lair was growing increasingly cumbersome. There were a total of fifteen Elders, making us the de facto leaders of the Beast-kin nation as the Strongest Tribe. These were our lands and our heritage.
Almost a millennium ago, the Beast-kin slave uprising killed the humans enslaving them. The humans had grown complacent and did not realize the slaves had been conspiring. They had been planning together, and a Bunny-kin, of all things, became the leader of a revolution that changed the known world for at least the next thousand years. The Bunny-kin was named Carl, and he was a genius; no other word could be used for him.
He learned in secret and became an A rank by the time he was forty, all while being a slave to humans. He did it while being a butler to the king and never got caught—some question how it was even possible. We have ways to detect mana, but this wizard became the cornerstone of a revolution and got a massive number of races under the remnants of the Arcane Empire, which was already falling due to corruption, and freed themselves.
It was a brutal war that the Beast-kin ultimately lost against the humans. It started in the west and swept across the continent to the east. More and more species of Beast-kin under the thumb of the Arcane empire came out from the shadows, and they had learned a variety of ways to control Mana. They had turned it to rage, energy, and many other useful forms and stormed through their masters' houses.
Nobility was killed overnight, and the Arcane Empire fell apart quickly. It was a nobility system, though, and many small armies of humans started to rise. The racism against the Beast-kin made it so that beasts could not suppress the humans, and so started a twenty-year war of the bloodiest battle in known history.
Families of Humans were ripped to shreds in retaliation for preconceived reasons, and the hate started to grow on both sides. But the East side of the Empire started to gather themselves together and pushed back. They pushed the Beast-kin into retreat toward the west. It took five years since the start of the conflict to reach that point, then another fifteen years before they were pushed up against the Dragonic lands. We owned more than we used but attacked anyone using it without our permission.
So, the war began on our doorstep. We watched as the Beast-kin continued to fight, even as they watched themselves and their children starve. It got to the point where they were using their own offspring as rations and the humans as even more rations. They were growing more and more into the beasts everyone had been treating them as such. But with three A rankers among the rebellion, which no one understood how they appeared, they fought off the empire.
Our ancestors looked upon the beast-kin and the humans and realized that one day, the humans might want to do the same to us. So, on a foggy day just before the war resumed and another battle began, our ancestors struck and flanked the Humans before they even realized it.
It became the last battle, but we pushed the Humans out of our territory with massive casualties in their army.
Then, our Nobles sent a single message to the remnants of the Arcane Empire.
"These are now the Proud Dragonic people and tribes. Leave our lands and deal with your own business," It was a blunt threat, and we accepted the Beast-kin into our fold. Which we never knew would lead to the bunny-kin, those perverted fuck bunnies slowly growing more and more power. Our wild mana had its ups and downs. Many did not understand how it worked, but it was very unstable and worked differently for all Dragonics.
Some, it was the cycle of the moon; a female Dragonic Wizard one time tied their period, making it their lowest time of strength. But another made it when they were the strongest, and not many were happy about that, as the less time there is, the more powerful the surge. Elder Redscale tied his ingeniously to the state of war our country is in. So now, during the war, he was at one hundred percent as an elder. It was the main reason we sent him to the war front while the rest of us protected the home.
But now, there was a growing resentment. The Dragon Liar Treasury had not been opened for the war. There was no point; the Bunny-kin were footing the bill, so why should we have to use our tribe's gold? The Elders were now glaring at each other, and I looked around the table, merely a spectator.
"So, tell me what happened again," Grand Elder said slowly, his voice making everyone cower a little at how annoyed it sounded.
"Grand Elder, Dragonic, in some stores, are being refused service," Elder Greentalon said slowly, her feminine voice carrying around the table easily. "Not only that, but many of our regular customers from outside tribes are no longer coming into Dragons Lair to shop. They go to other cities and purchase from there. I have received reports that only the most subordinate tribes shop in our city unless," She frowned, "It is owned by another tribe in the city. In fact, there is a Bunny-kin-owned Alchemical shop that now has a working monopoly to the point that they are purchasing the other Alchemical shops from our own tribesmen to deal with the increasing business. The worst part is none of these businesses are starting to fire Dragonic workers."
"Why?"
"Because we are not supporting the war," She bluntly replied with a wince.
Grand elders' fists hit the table, and it reverberated with mana that flowed out like a gust. "WE HAVE SENT OUR PEOPLE TO THE FRONT JUST AS MUCH AS ALL THE OTHER TRIBES!" Grand Elders Voice boomed, "Our leadership has given the Empire the largest defeats since its INCEPTION!" Grand Elder boomed, and I looked down with all the other leaders.
"The Sentiment is that it is because of the Supreme Commander that we reached and took Border City," Elder GreenTalon told him. After that, it is believed they worked together to achieve results. Someone is changing the stories out there and telling people false stories of how the war is going. Then there is one other issue that many of our own people are starting to learn, and we failed to ever notice," Elder Greentalon said.

"What?
"If you don't mind, Elder Greentalon, I think I am better to report this," Elder Yellowtooth frowned. Her yellow scales are almost gold in the darkness. "It is the Logistics army, Grand Elder. They are creating work; they are taking losers so they no longer burden families. They no longer have the stigma of losers and failures in the army and look like those fighting now for a better future. So people's lives are getting better, and the pay is honestly astonishing. I have no idea how much longer the Bunny-kin treasury can hold on. I have heard they can last no more than two years, but I doubt that." The Elder Yellowtooth paused, "The Bunny-kin are probably fanning the flames of hate towards us because they need us to open the treasury and assist if they are going to continue paying out like this."
The words hung in the air, and the Elder council went silent and knew that the Grand Elder spent all his time in the Treasury. He was currently trying something, and for some reason, he spent the last hundred years in the Dragon lair treasury. You could feel him slowly growing stronger as he did so, but it was something no one could comment on.
TI was not that the Elder council did not want to open the Dragon Treasury. It would be the best for our tribe's public image, but we played a wait-and-see game at the one vote where the Grand Elder said that we must do anything we can to assist in the war. It was the one time he had been open to opening up the treasury, but none of us wanted to. Why should we? The Bunny-kin were footing the bill. They needed to be knocked down a peg and have power taken from them.
"So you are saying that they can continue for another year before they run out of gold to pay for the war?" Grand Elder said slowly. I felt something drop in my stomach.
"Grand Elder, it is no longer about how long they can keep up the finances," Elder Yellowtooth jumped in. It is about our image."
"Those Bunny-kin think they can replace us; let them empty their treasury a bit more; then we will assist," the Grand Elder said, looking like he was pondering, "Three months. We will open our treasury in three months and start to take over the finances, and we will make it look like we are magnanimous for doing so. It is done," Grander Elder said. His white and silver scales shone in the dark as he opened the door and disappeared, probably to the Treasury, and we all sat still looking at each other.
"Can we hold out three more months?" An unknown Elder said, and I could not tell who said it. I wanted to know, and everyone was looking around to see who it was, but the question was the one that was deep in our hearts. The Beast-kin was pissed, and the Bunny-kin literally gave away gold to the poor at this point. Things were looking bleak.
