Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 226 - 170: This Child, You Will Never See Again
Fei Yuan had just returned from Lou Tian’s place. Before he could even rest and drink a cup of cool tea, he saw Sang Luo rush back from outside, fuming. Her aura was terrifying. "Pack your things now, we’re leaving! I’m not staying in this damn place a second longer!"
"Leaving so soon? Who upset our Little Luoruo?"
Fei Yuan noticed a Little Black Snake coiled around her hand, and the smile on his lips faltered slightly. "This is...?"
"My son!"
Fei Yuan’s sharp eyes widened slightly. "You... where did this child pop out from?"
"He was born from my womb. Haven’t you always wanted a child? You can raise him. How about it!"
"Little Luoruo, calm down. I do want a child, but you can’t just pick up a convenient son out of nowhere for me to raise."
Fei Yuan could see she was muddled with anger. He rose and walked over quickly, taking the Little Black Snake with a flattered-yet-startled expression.
He sent a wisp of power to circulate through its body and was even more surprised. "A pure-blooded Soaring Snake... Your womb is truly capable! We’re still on someone else’s territory, and you’ve snatched their son. His real father will hunt me down."
Sang Luo shot him a glare of exasperation, moving to take the Little Black Snake back. "You’re scared? Then give my son back. I’ll raise him with my other Beast Husbands!"
"Heh, I’m not scared." Fei Yuan took out a silk handkerchief and draped it over the little snake. "A son delivered right to my door for free? Is there any reason to give him back? You said you’d let me raise him. You can’t go back on your word."
Meanwhile, Quan Jin suddenly sensed something. He instantly teleported from Yangxin Hall to Changle Hall—his son was gone.
She had taken him away!
’How dare she!’ Black Qi surged from his body, nearly consuming his mind.
...
「On the way back.」
Fei Yuan looked at the unusually quiet Little Black Snake in his hand, then at Sang Luo, who had calmed down and seemed a bit regretful. He asked, "Is he really your and the Southern Beast Emperor’s child?"
"Yes. But that’s all in the past. This child doesn’t belong to him anymore..."
"So! You plan on giving Little Qi to another male to raise!"
Sang Luo’s voice died in her throat. Her eyes widened as she stared in shock at Caesar, who was blocking their path. She felt a pang of guilt, but remembering what he had done to her, her eyes filled with fury. She lifted her chin to look him straight in the eye. "That’s right! This child doesn’t belong to you anymore!"
"I am the child’s Beast Mother. This child came from my womb. Whether I raise him myself or give him to another Beast Husband, I’m the one who decides!"
"You!"
Caesar’s expression was utterly grim, and a dull, sharp pain pierced his heart.
He couldn’t bear to look at her for another second. His cold eyes swept toward Fei Yuan as he said icily, "Give me the child! Or don’t blame me for what happens next."
Sang Luo cried, "Don’t give him to him!"
Fei Yuan didn’t look at either of them. Instead, he looked at the terrified Little Black Snake in his palm. "You’re Little Qi, right? Who do you want to be with?"
Little Qi seemed frightened by the scene. His small body curled into a ball, his tail trembled, and his soft, childish voice held a hint of a sob. "I... I really miss Mommy. I want to be with Mommy..."
Caesar’s face turned frighteningly cold.
The little snake buried his head in his coiled tail, not daring to look at him.
Fei Yuan sighed. The children were always the most pitiful ones when their parents’ relationship shattered. But the young cub had made his choice. He raised his hand, placing a protective barrier around the snake, and looked at Caesar with a hint of apology. "Southern Beast Emperor, I am truly sorry, but I’m afraid I cannot give you this child."
Caesar said nothing. A Bone Sword materialized in his palm, and he attacked without another word.
Fei Yuan was forced to retaliate.
The battle between the two Emperor Beasts was nothing short of terrifying. Winds howled and clouds churned as the very color of the sky and earth seemed to change.
Sang Luo couldn’t even clearly see their moves and actions. All she could discern were a streak of purple light and a streak of dark red light clashing hundreds of times in a mere instant. The terrifying torrents of power exploded outward, uprooting vast swathes of hundred-meter-tall trees, shattering mountains, and splitting rivers and valleys.
Both men were deliberately avoiding Sang Luo, but she still had to take out the Defensive Magical Artifact Lou Xianyue had given her and retreat several miles away, afraid of being caught in the crossfire.
The rage of an Emperor Beast was a truly unbearable terror.
Especially a Beast Emperor who had lost his child—it was equivalent to losing all reason.
Fei Yuan was disadvantaged by having one hand occupied, and he was struggling to keep up. He found an opportunity to break away from the battle, returned the child to Sang Luo, and threw himself back into the fight with his full attention.
But unexpectedly, in the very next second, Caesar abruptly changed direction, the tip of his sword aimed straight for Sang Luo.
"Little Luoruo!"
Fei Yuan’s expression changed drastically, and he instantly teleported in front of her.
"PCHI!" The blade pierced through his left shoulder.
Fei Yuan staggered back half a step, cold sweat pouring down his forehead. A Flame Longsword materialized in his hand, and almost in the same instant his shoulder was pierced, he swung it at Caesar’s arm.
Caesar was forced back three feet. Sang Luo quickly turned to check on Fei Yuan. His face was slightly pale, and his shoulder was bleeding profusely, soaking half of his clothes in blood. She reached out and tore away the fabric, revealing dense Black Qi swirling around the wound.
The power behind that strike—
It was aimed to kill her!
If Fei Yuan hadn’t blocked that strike for her, with Sang Luo’s King Rank strength, that single blow would have been enough to obliterate her body and soul!
’He... he really wanted to kill me!’
Sang Luo trembled all over, her mind going blank with shock.
Little Qi sensed his mother’s fear and terror and gently rubbed against her arm.
Sang Luo fought back the tears in her eyes and gently stroked the little snake to soothe him. She looked coldly at the somewhat helpless Caesar, a resolute, cold sneer forming on her lips. "Fine. Kill me, and you can have the child."
"Sangsang, I..." Caesar stared at her, dazed. With a CLANG, the Bone Sword in his hand fell to the ground.
"What else is there to say?" Sang Luo grew even calmer. "Don’t tell me you’re going to try and argue that you held back with that strike and weren’t trying to kill me?"
Pain flashed in Caesar’s eyes. He took two steps forward but didn’t dare get any closer. "I... I didn’t mean to hurt you. I just wanted you to give me the child. He’s our child..."
"Not anymore! And there’s nothing between us anymore either!" Sang Luo didn’t spare him another glance, turning to help Fei Yuan with his wound.
Caesar watched them, the emotion in his eyes slowly dying away. He held one hand behind his back. That hand had been burned by Phoenix True Fire; Black Qi seeped from it, and only half a length of white bone remained, hidden within his sleeve.
’All this time, I’ve exhausted myself trying to resurrect our child, wanting to regain my memories and reconcile with her. But she’s gone through one new person after another. How could she possibly remember an old one like me?’
’Those memories... it seems they aren’t needed now.’
"Fine." Caesar let out a soft laugh, though it was unclear who it was directed at. "Since you’ve said as much, let this be the end for us. I won’t bother you again in the future."
"You’d better mean that!" Holding Fei Yuan with one hand and the Little Black Snake with the other, Sang Luo turned to leave.
The next second, the child in her arms vanished!
She whipped her head around to look back.
The little snake had reappeared in Caesar’s hand. He summoned a confining cage and trapped Little Qi inside, from which he could never escape.
He looked at her, his voice as cold as if he were looking at a stranger. "You will never see this child again."
