Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 355 - 294: Little Stone’s Transformation
Sang Luo was a little disappointed. The Clone ability was so useful, but unfortunately, her Beast Husbands all disliked it.
She rubbed her stomach as it growled with hunger. "I’m hungry. I’m craving some chicken soup."
"Go back to sleep for a bit. I’ll go make you something to eat." Lan Cang kissed her on the cheek, feeling utterly content, and got out of bed to cook.
The tantalizing aroma from the kitchen soon wafted over.
By the time Sang Luo had finished washing up, the food was ready.
Sipping the savory chicken soup, she asked, "Is that Ice and Snow Disaster Beast still around? I’ll go take care of it."
"It was a Disaster Beast that had just reached Emperor Rank, so its power wasn’t yet stable. I’ve already taken care of it. However, I’m afraid this is just an omen. We don’t know if stronger Disaster Beasts will appear in the future, so I’ve ordered all the cities to strengthen their defenses."
"Okay. If you need my help, just let me know!" ’I’m an Emperor Rank too, after all!’
Lan Cang nodded, chuckling softly. "Alright. Luoluo is very capable."
Looking at her confident and radiant self, he was suddenly lost in thought. "Back in the tribe, you were just a little female with no talent or strength. Anyone could bully you. Now you’re one of the most powerful figures in the world. You can live well even without the protection of a male beastman... I might even need to seek your protection instead."
"It’s been a long, hard road to get here. I’m so happy that I can help you, Cangcang, and all the other beastmen!"
"The other Male Beasts must be so envious of me."
"You deserve it, Cangcang."
After their meal, Sang Luo went to the courtyard to play with her three Wolf Pups.
The two pups, Little Stone and Zhuizui, chased each other around, wrestling and racing to see who was faster.
Little Zhi Xin lay on the ground with a sheet of drawing paper spread before him. He skillfully gripped an oil pastel in his little paw, concentrating on his drawing. His fluffy tail swayed back and forth with the motion of his hand.
Sang Luo sat on a stone bench in the courtyard. She took a photo album out of her storage space and began flipping through it from back to front.
She paused for a long time when she reached the first page.
The first photo was of the Wolf Pups not long after they were born. Their soft fur had just fully grown in, making them look like three little fluffballs sitting in a row—one black, one white, and one gray.
Now the pups had gone through a growth spurt. They were about the size of a full-grown Samoyed, with long, powerful legs. They looked so gallant that it was hard to imagine their endearingly clumsy appearance from when they were little.
Sang Luo closed the album and walked over to Little Zhi Xin. She couldn’t help but laugh when she saw his drawing.
The drawing was rather crude, but with just a few simple lines, he had vividly captured the expressions and features of several different people. It had a surprising amount of soul! 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"This is Mom, this is Dad, this is me, Little Zhi Xin, and my two brothers. Standing behind us is handsome Uncle Sea Emperor, then Uncle Fei Yuan and Uncle Si Ye, and in their arms are..."
"Looks like you’ve drawn the whole family."
"Mom, is my drawing pretty?" he asked, his tail wagging happily.
"It’s beautiful, really beautiful. Our Little Zhi Xin is a true artist! So clever and talented from such a young age!" Sang Luo ruffled the fur on his fluffy face and planted a kiss on his pointy ear.
"Hehe, I haven’t finished drawing my other little brothers and sisters yet. I’ll add them now."
"When you’re finished, will you give it to Mom?"
Little Zhi Xin was about to nod when Zhuizui ran over. "A great artist can’t just give his paintings away for free," he said. "They won’t be valuable then."
Zhi Xin thought for a moment, then said seriously, "Then you’ll have to trade me some jerky for it, Mom!"
"Haha, alright. You can have as much as you want."
Lan Cang was in his study, writing. He looked up as Sang Luo entered and smiled. "Done playing with the children?"
"Yep, the little ones got tired and went for a nap." Sang Luo chewed on a strip of jerky. ’My jerky-making skills really are top-notch. The kids all love it,’ she thought, glancing at the papers on his desk. "What are you planning?"
Lan Cang unrolled the scroll in his hand. "Little Stone and his brothers are about to turn seven. This is the guest list for the banquet. I’ll have someone send out the invitations later."
"No wonder you had people moving things around the courtyard this morning. So, the pups are turning seven..." Sang Luo smiled and sighed. "Time passes so quickly. It feels like just yesterday they were celebrating their first month."
It felt like only yesterday.
Sang Luo helped with the birthday preparations, choosing carefully thought-out gifts for the children.
"Dad, Mom!" Zhuizui came running over in a panic. "Big Brother took a fall while we were playing last night, and now he’s in so much pain he can’t get out of bed!"
Sang Luo’s heart clenched. "Something this serious happened? Why didn’t you tell us sooner?"
"I... we thought it was nothing, but starting this morning, Big Brother said his bones started hurting more and more..."
This was no time for scolding. "Quick, take me to him," Sang Luo said urgently. "Don’t tell me he broke a bone... Cangcang, hurry and get the city’s witch doctor!"
Lan Cang, however, looked thoughtful and didn’t seem particularly worried. He sent someone to fetch the Old Witch Doctor from the city.
After the Old Witch Doctor examined Little Stone, his old face crinkled into a smile. "City Lord, Madam, please rest assured. The young master is perfectly healthy. He’s about to undergo his transformation!"
"Little Stone is going to transform?!" Sang Luo was floored by the news, feeling a mix of shock and joy.
Lan Cang smiled. "Yes, don’t worry. I had the same symptoms before my own transformation. The process can be long or short, but it usually takes a few months at most."
"I wonder what he’ll look like after he transforms. I’m sure he’ll look just like you!" Beastmen could naturally recognize the features of their own young; to them, there was no difference between their human and beast forms. Unfortunately, Sang Luo couldn’t. So, aside from her two Little Mermaids, she had no idea whether her children were beautiful or plain.
Lan Cang said, "Zhuizui and Zhi Xin should be transforming soon, too."
’The children are all growing up.’ Sang Luo’s heart filled with anticipation.
The Old Witch Doctor left behind several prescriptions for nourishing herbs before he departed.
For the next while, Little Stone would need plenty of nutrients to sustain his body’s transformation.
Sang Luo decided to stay in the North Continent for a few extra months to care for Little Stone and witness the moment of his transformation firsthand.
In her spare time, she often visited the city’s shelter, bringing food and clothing to the orphaned young.
Living conditions in the North Continent couldn’t compare to the other continents. The city had many parentless, stray young. The recent Disaster Beast attacks had also created more orphans in the surrounding tribes and cities. Lan Cang had personally overseen the construction of several shelters to provide a haven for these displaced children.
One day, upon returning from the shelter, Sang Luo saw a beastman speaking to Lan Cang. "The team that went out on patrol last night still hasn’t returned. City Lord, should we send another team after them?"
Lan Cang replied, "I’ll lead a team myself."
"I’ll go with you," Sang Luo said.
"Thank you for the help, Luoluo."
When they arrived at the location, they found the dozens of Guard Team members from the previous night’s patrol frozen solid, like ice sculptures. It was impossible to tell if they were dead or alive.
Sang Luo unleashed a torrent of flame, melting all the ice.
Lan Cang and the others lifted the unconscious beastmen onto stretchers to take them back to the city for treatment.
Sang Luo told Lan Cang and the others to head back first. In a flash, she appeared before a hundred-meter-tall ice cavern.
Deep within the cavern, a massive Ice Beast, resembling a cross between an ox and a tiger, was coiled. Its eyes were scarlet, and it let out a heaven-shaking roar.
Countless sharp icicles, each several meters long, rained down from above.
The Phoenix True Fire consumed them all, searing off half of the Ice Beast’s tail.
The Ice Beast grew cautious and retreated, slamming a massive claw into the ground. The earth shattered and split apart!
A dark chasm instantly opened beneath Sang Luo’s feet, a gaping maw that threatened to swallow her whole.
A pair of enormous golden wings unfurled from her back, holding her aloft in the air. Simultaneously, she formed a hand seal, and two jets of Phoenix True Fire shot out, flanking the beast from left and right. The Ice Beast had no time to flee before it was instantly torn apart and melted by the flames.
A gray stream of light shot out from the Ice Beast’s corpse, trying to flee.
A chain of pure energy shot out and captured it, pulling it into her palm.
It looked somewhat like a Crystal Core, but not quite.
Sang Luo stored the gray stone in her storage space. The moment she returned to the City Lord Mansion, she heard the news—Little Stone was about to transform!
