Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 387 - 326: The Basement
「The Western Continent.」
Sang Luo returned to the dilapidated manor once again, filled with a poignant sense of how much had changed.
The stone paths were covered in cobwebs and dust, and weeds sprouted from the cracks in the walls. Many of the windows were shattered, and anything of value had been looted long ago. After all these years, it hadn’t been demolished, merely cordoned off with official seals.
Quan Jin, on the other hand, showed no emotion. He went to the study, pushed aside a bookshelf that was against the wall, and ran his hand along the surface. He found the stone tile that triggered the mechanism and pressed it.
With a loud RUMBLING, a stone door appeared in the wall.
The stone door opened.
The two of them walked inside.
The clutter outside was unimportant. The treasures Quan Jin had collected in years past were all in the basement.
Just inside was a wall of armaments, covered with all sorts of advanced weaponry. She picked up a revolver to play with. It was heavy, with a solid feel.
She fiddled with it for a moment, then swung open the cylinder. It was empty.
Quan Jin took the handgun, loaded it with bullets, and pulled the trigger, firing a shot at the wall.
It pierced through instantly, leaving a hole more than ten centimeters wide.
Sang Luo clicked her tongue in amazement. "It’s pretty powerful, but not as useful as a Talent Ability."
"If you can’t use your Talent Ability one day, this would be a good weapon for self-defense." Quan Jin handed the handgun to her. "You can also play with it to practice your aim."
Sang Luo thought that made sense and picked out a few guns she liked. ’Who knows, I might need them someday.’
The basement was roughly divided into three sections: an outer, a middle, and an inner area.
They continued deeper inside.
The basement was filled with stacks of boxes, but Quan Jin didn’t spare them a glance, continuing onward.
Sang Luo followed him.
The innermost section of the basement, by contrast, was nearly empty. It was wide and spacious, with only a single table.
A wooden box sat on the table.
Quan Jin opened the wooden box.
Sang Luo leaned in to take a look. Inside was a snake shed, folded layer upon layer like a bolt of cloth.
"It’s so beautiful, and you’ve kept it so well." Sang Luo gently stroked the silk-like snake shed. It was a faint purple.
Quan Jin turned his head to look at her, his gaze flickering. "Snake Clan males don’t just keep their first snake shed. They save the sheds from every molting to give to their mates to be made into undergarments."
"No wonder~" Sang Luo loved it. The snake shed felt extremely light, breathable, and had excellent elasticity.
Shark Sha was suitable for making elaborate, gorgeous outerwear, while the snake shed was better suited for undergarments.
"Is there anything else you want to take from the basement?" Sang Luo asked.
Quan Jin shook his head. "Most of it is just trinkets I collected in the past. They’re useless now. Some of it might fetch a decent price. We can pawn it and give the money to Beastmen in need."
"Yes, I was thinking the same thing."
Better to sell it and donate the money than let it fall into the hands of bandits and thieves.
Sang Luo stored everything from the basement into her space.
The dim basement felt even emptier now. They could only hear each other’s breathing. Other than that, there was no one else and no other sound.
No outsiders would come to disturb them.
They could do whatever they wanted.
Quan Jin hugged Sang Luo from behind, his soft lips brushing against her ear. His voice was as low and mellow as fine wine, alluring. "...Are you pregnant yet?"
"No." Her appetite hadn’t changed recently.
Sang Luo caught the faint, enchanting scent coming from him, a scent that hooked the soul and tempted one to fall into depravity.
The man was in heat.
Sang Luo turned to face him, her eyes sultry as silk, her red lips parting slightly. "I haven’t seen your half-beast form in a long time."
Quan Jin stared at her feverishly, his Adam’s apple bobbing. "I’m... a little different from before. I’m not very pleasant to look at."
"I still want to see." Sang Luo’s hand restlessly slipped inside his collar, groping for his chest.
Her fingertips teased him lightly.
He let out a muffled grunt. The blush on his handsome, exquisitely beautiful face deepened, and the enchanting scent wafted out in waves.
The lust in his eyes was almost enough to drown her.
Below his waist, a snake tail several meters long slowly materialized. But it was translucent, revealing only white bone. A faint black mist clung to the bone, coalescing into a phantom form...
’Is this his true form now?’
Sang Luo’s eyes began to sting, and tears streamed down her face. His flesh had been burned away, leaving only his Soul Bone. This skeleton was his real body now.
Quan Jin cupped Sang Luo’s face in his hands and lowered his head, slowly kissing away the tears at the corners of her eyes.
"Is it ugly?"
"It’s not."
"Are you scared?"
"I’m not."
Quan Jin kissed her soft, rosy lips, rolling over to press her down. Almost at the same instant, a bedding soft as clouds spread out beneath her—
One day, two days, three days...
The storm subsided.
The flush on Sang Luo’s face had yet to fade, and her hair was soaked through. Quan Jin pulled her deep into his embrace, gently pecking her full, crimson lips, his handsome face wearing a satisfied smile.
"Are you happy with me?"
"Mhm." Shy yet delighted, Sang Luo buried her head in his chest and wrapped her arms around his firm waist.
’It’s so quiet, so comfortable. Not draining like with her other Beast Husbands. She liked it like this with him...’
They held each other for a long time, quietly letting the afterglow fade.
Quan Jin stroked her hair. "We’ve got the snake shed. Should we go?"
Sang Luo paused. "Duotu is the Beast King of the Yalan Empire now."
"Mhm, I know."
"He was the one who assassinated you back then. Aren’t... aren’t you going to get revenge?"
Quan Jin’s voice was low and hoarse. "Do you want me to get revenge? Because if I do, he won’t survive."
"...That’s your business. He wronged you, it has nothing to do with me."
"It doesn’t matter anymore." His tone was indifferent.
Duotu had killed the Caesar of the past.
But in the eyes of the current Quan Jin, that incident was insignificant. He could easily kill Duotu—for him, it would be as simple as crushing an ant. But whether he killed him or not made no difference to Quan Jin. It would just be one more life on his hands.
"He’s that little lion’s father. You probably don’t want the child to lose his biological father," Quan Jin said, cutting straight to the heart of the matter.
Sang Luo’s throat tightened. It was true. Her excuse for bringing him to the Western Continent was to see if the current Quan Jin still held any murderous intent toward Duotu.
She no longer had any feelings for Duotu, but she didn’t want the little lion to be without his father.
The little lion valued his royal father more than anyone.
"Don’t worry. As long as the child is around, I won’t touch him." If he had truly wanted to kill Duotu, he would have done it the moment he recovered his memories.
Quan Jin looked at the woman in his arms.
His only regret was,
That he had been gone for too long.
Once you’ve had her full, undivided attention, you can never be content with just a small corner of it.
...
「Tasting Immortal House.」
The bustling little restaurant was packed, with not an empty seat in the house. The gazes of many Beastmen were drawn to a table by the window.
A handsome male and a beautiful female.
A true feast for the eyes.
A hot-blooded young Male Beast, carrying a cup of wine, wanted to go over and hit on the beautiful young female.
The man in black robes glanced over indifferently.
The Beastman was so frightened he nearly fell to the ground. He spilled his wine and scurried away, utterly humiliated.
The man’s aura was deep and restrained, inspiring fear. No one else dared to approach them.
"Your dishes are here, esteemed guests."
A slender, handsome youth from the Deer Clan brought over their food and wine.
