Game Invasion Era: Rise from Binding the Goblin King!-Chapter 151: Earth’s Will, Becoming the Guardian
"I’ll report that you died in a beast attack," George said softly, a bit of pity in his heart. He turned away and sent a flash of cold light.
Plop!
Blood sprayed behind him. Kent fell into a pool of blood, his eyes filled with relief.
George didn’t look back. He walked straight forward, through the passage, to where the teleportation array was located.
According to Kent, Anderson’s secret weapon was likely in The Chaos Battlefield.
"It seems it’s time to go to The Chaos Battlefield," George said to himself. He thought about the Skyforge Empire treasure and how Melina and Eliex’s origins were tied to The Chaos Battlefield.
Buzz!
The teleportation array activated. A strong space power wave filled the air. George went through the pain of his body and soul being torn apart again. He left the Beast King Realm and returned to the Obsidian Academy.
[Target meets Taming condition detected]
[Target identity unknown, level unknown, stage unknown...]
[Location locked. Teleport? Yes or No?]
Suddenly, the prompt flashed.
George was surprised. His level had reached 70, and after completing the Frost Keeper advanced quest, he could Tame another pet.
He had planned to capture the Obsidian Wraithboss. Lilia had said it had potential for training.
"But how can there be a strong monster here on Earth?" George wondered. More strangely, the monster’s details weren’t even visible to the system.
He looked at the prompt and hesitated for a long time. Finally, he decided to teleport.
No matter how valuable this monster was, it had to be captured or killed.
Another space power wave, and George vanished from the spot.
A second later, he appeared in a strange space. Everything around him was empty, silent, and felt like nothing existed.
George stood in the void, watching the surroundings carefully. Still, nothing.
Did the system make a mistake? There was no life energy here at all.
"Huh? Why are you here?"
Suddenly, a soft, ethereal voice echoed. George jumped and became alert.
"Fundamental Power!"
He gasped. That was why he couldn’t feel the strength or life energy here.
This being had control over Fundamental Power far beyond his own.
A strange fear came to George’s heart. He guessed who she was. He asked cautiously, "Are you Earth’s Will?"
"Yes." The soft voice echoed throughout the space, but he couldn’t find where it came from.
"You haven’t answered my question. How did you get here?" The woman’s voice was full of hostility.
George was on high alert. He wouldn’t say he came here to Tame her.
And Earth’s Will would never be easily tamed.
Earlier, when he Tamed Blazing Angel Lilia, she had resisted a little. He had learned that the stronger the target, the more resistance they had.
And Earth’s Will was an unknown-level power. Her strength was far beyond gods. She could probably erase him with just a thought.
"I feel your hostility!" The woman’s voice echoed again. Then a terrifying strength wave surged.
George was shocked. He quickly said, "Master, it’s a misunderstanding. I accidentally came here. You should know, I’m also protecting Earth."
"Is that so?" The woman’s voice was suspicious, but the terrifying strength faded.
George sighed in relief and said, "You’re also a guardian of Earth, right? Why just watch monsters attack and do nothing?"
The woman laughed coldly. "Do you think I caused all this? No, it’s because you humans are too greedy. Earth was invaded by the Realm, and it was humans who reached out to the other side and opened the Realm. You put yourselves in danger."
Humans opened the Realm on purpose?
George was confused. He didn’t know about this.
But he quickly realized something. The Realm was mysterious and dangerous, the monsters were wild, but humans also got benefits. They gained jobs, got stronger, lived longer. Some people just couldn’t resist.
He continued, "Even so, you should be able to close these Realms, right?"
"You’re thinking too much of me," the woman said, her hostility gone. Her voice echoed, "I can’t stop what humans do. And as long as there’s no threat to Earth, the rules stop me from acting."
The woman paused, then continued, "Honestly, I don’t even want to protect humans. Your actions are just digging your own grave. You’re slowly weakening me. When the disaster finally comes, Earth will be destroyed."
"Why does it weaken your strength?" George asked, confused.
"Realms appearing, monsters attacking, humans and Earth’s life dying... All of this slowly eats away at my will. Eventually, I’ll disappear completely. Then, a power stronger than gods will come, and Earth will be destroyed." The woman’s voice echoed, showing no emotion. But George felt her pain and anger.
"Is there no other way to stop this?" George couldn’t accept this. Even if it wasn’t for humans, he had to stop this for Earth.
"There is one way."
The woman’s voice came, and then George felt his body locked by a strong force.
He was startled and asked, "Are you going to attack me?"
"No," the woman said. "I really can sense you have no bad intentions. And your wish to protect Earth and humans is strong. I want you to become Earth’s guardian."
"Earth’s guardian?" George was confused. "What is that?"
The woman’s voice replied, "Guard Earth. And you will get my blessing of strength. You can use your own Fundamental Power freely. And on Earth, you can also use part of my Fundamental Power."
Use Fundamental Power?
George’s face lit up, but he didn’t answer right away.
He really wanted to tame this Earth’s Will. He wondered, if he tamed her as a pet, could she attack freely?
"I feel your hostility again!" The woman’s voice echoed. A terrifying strength rushed toward him.
George was shocked and quickly pushed the thought out of his mind.
This Earth’s Will was too strong. She could sense whether he had hostile thoughts.
To tame her, he needed strength. Right now, he wasn’t strong enough. He had to wait until he was stronger.
"Sorry, I misunderstood. I’ll accept. I’ll be Earth’s guardian," George said quickly.
Becoming a guardian meant he could use Fundamental Power freely. On Earth, no one would be a match for him.
The woman stayed silent for a long time, then said, "Honestly, I don’t want a human to be Earth’s guardian. But there’s no other life that fits the requirements. One more warning: if you ever do anything that threatens Earth, I will take back your guardian status and kill you!"
"Relax, I won’t do that," George said, his face sincere.
He really wouldn’t do anything to hurt Earth, but hurting Earth’s Will? That was another story.
"I feel your hostility again!" The woman’s voice came, emotionless but full of killing intent.
Damn it!
George had the urge to curse. He stopped thinking about anything else and said carefully, "I’m just curious if you have a real identity."
"I am Earth’s Will. My body can take any form. Alright, I’m giving you the title of Earth’s Guardian. Leave now." The woman said impatiently, and sent him off.
[You have become the Earth’s Guardian]
The message appeared. George felt a warm, familiar strength. It was the Fundamental Power of Earth—vast and endless, much more than what he had mastered.
"How do I leave?"
George asked awkwardly. He had been sent here by the system, and he didn’t know how to get back.
The woman didn’t answer. A wave of space strength passed, and George vanished from the spot. He reappeared on the sports field of the Obsidian Academy.
"Whew, that was a scary being," he said, looking around and feeling relieved.
It was impossible to tame Earth’s Will right now. He’d focus on the Obsidian Wraith first. When he got stronger, or when Earth’s Will weakened, he’d find a way to capture her.
George had a feeling that if he tamed Earth’s Will, he could protect Earth better and stop the monster attacks.
The sky grew dark. A couple walked on the field.
George felt like he was in a dream. A few days ago, he was facing death because of Anderson. Now, this peaceful scene made him feel like it wasn’t real.
"Am I just stressed too much?"
George said quietly, feeling a little sad. Then he ran to the dean’s office.
Ares wasn’t there—he had gone into the Abyss Realm. George had no choice but to find James.
He told James everything about meeting Kent in the Beast King Realm.
James frowned and thought for a moment. "So, Anderson’s plan was in The Chaos Battlefield? That place is chaotic, and we really missed it."
George asked, "James, did Anderson have a pass to The Chaos Battlefield?"
Anderson had exploded in the final battle. He left no body. George didn’t know if he had dropped a pass.
James nodded. "We didn’t find a pass, but we found a teleportation array underground in the Temple Guild that leads to The Chaos Battlefield. We just haven’t had the chance to check it out yet."
"James, I’ll take this mission," George volunteered.
"Are you going into The Chaos Battlefield?" James hesitated. Then, thinking about George’s strength, he said, "You’re the best choice. But The Chaos Battlefield isn’t something to take lightly. Are you sure you want to go?"
"Yeah," George nodded confidently. He had always wanted to explore The Chaos Battlefield, but never had the time.
At the same time, he wanted to deal with the mess Anderson left behind. And maybe, he could also find the treasure of Skyforge Empire, and help Melina and Eliex with their wishes.
