"Yo, you're back," Chaichai, lying in the doghouse and enjoying the fan, lazily greeted Li Ang as he appeared.

"Why didn't you play games with the landlord?"

Li Ang removed the Dragon Head Mask, his facial contours writhing as he gradually reverted to his own appearance.

"After a couple of rounds, she logged off. Said she had to go out for a bit."

Chaichai said lazily, "Ah, this doghouse is really cool... just a bit small. Could you help me enlarge it with Alchemy?"

Li Ang twisted his restored chin, Speechless. "Then why didn't you just let me use Alchemy to make you one directly? Buying it online is just a waste of money."

"You don't understand~"

Chaichai defended, "The joy of online shopping comes from the moment of relief when you press the payment button, the anxiety of waiting for the parcel, and the anticipation when opening the box. Besides, products purchased online often have more user-friendly designs. Some ingenious features aren't apparent just by looking at the product images."

"You're the best at making excuses."

Li Ang rolled his eyes but still took out soil from his inventory, piled it next to the doghouse, activated the Alchemy Array, and expanded the doghouse to a size that could allow a person to lie down spread-eagled.

Chaichai drawled, "Thank~you~," shifted positions, and continued to lie down, watching a movie on a tablet computer.

Li Ang shook his head helplessly, turned around, and walked into the bedroom to log onto the player forum on his computer.

Just as he had expected, the top of the forum was flooded with news about "Immaculate Furnace."

Some people were discussing the bizarre maneuvers demonstrated by the storekeeper at the Sky Fighting Arena. Previously, everyone assumed that Lone Wolf Players climbing the tower didn't need a guardian. But the incident today had everyone feeling insecure, fearing they might be defeated during their climb without the option to surrender, only to be toyed with at will by others, just like Blackstone Razor.

Others were debating whether the store was as miraculous as its advertisements claimed. Many organizations sold Magic Potions, but equipment forging, body enhancement, and transformation were rare. These techniques were considered closely guarded secrets of medium and large organizations, involving interests so vast that they could drive many powers to madness.

The most exaggerated claim, according to the Immaculate Furnace's proprietor, was that their deluxe transformation package could turn an utterly powerless ordinary person into a Transcendent comparable to an Lv10 player after a week of surgical procedures.

This was terrifying to consider. The middle and upper echelons of many emerging organizations were still ordinary people. These individuals were already elites of human society, possessing advanced education, controlling social resources, and holding networks of relationships. They were able to maintain upper-echelon status in organizations through their advantages from the old world. They had more time, richer management experience, and didn't need to worry about dying suddenly in a mission. To avoid accidents, they could also receive protection from players and enjoy an organization's resources.

However, no matter how good such external assets were, they weren't personally owned. Many Mortal Managers of organizations feared one fact: they would gradually lose the advantages of power they held from the old world as time passed.

Transcendents were the future of human civilization. Before those beings who could pluck stars from the sky and move mountains with their power, individuals who might even surpass them in intelligence, how long could Mortal Managers hope to preserve their status and continue to wield their authority?

The most likely scenario was that they would merely become Butlers, assisting Transcendents in maintaining the order of human civilization. Pessimistically, they might even come into fierce conflict with the Transcendent groups over interests and ultimately be purged. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Although such a future was far too remote, nobody could say for certain when conflicts might erupt.

And now, this shop called Immaculate Furnace brought new possibilities.

BUZZ BUZZ—

Li Ang's player panel vibrated. Sitting in his chair, he kicked off the ground, gliding a short distance to place the fingertip gyro from his hands onto the bookshelf.

Mule: "Are you there?"

Li Rising: "Yes."

Mule: "What you did in the Dueling Field is news now. As far as I know, many organizations are trying to buy information about you, and many of my colleagues are also snooping around."

Li Ang replied with an indifferent "Oh." He already knew that doing so would attract covetous eyes, which was why he had set up an advertising-specific name in the Dueling Field. For now, only Wanli Fengdao and Mule knew he was the owner of the Immaculate Furnace. Mule had signed a confidentiality agreement and wouldn't—couldn't—reveal his identity. As for Wanli Fengdao, there was a chance he might leak this intelligence to the Special Affairs Bureau; Li Ang had hinted during their farewell that he didn't mind if the Special Affairs Bureau found out.

Mule: "I should have the proposal ready in about an hour. If you don't mind, may I ask how many Magic Potions you still have in stock?"

Li Rising: "Across all types, there are roughly six or seven hundred bottles in total. Some Magic Potions can't be stored for too long and must be sold immediately after they're made. Oh, and if you have time, help me look out for any storage-type equipment or items on the market."

While talking with Mule, Li Ang took out the Automated Pet Box and entered it.

The scene inside the Automated Pet Box hadn't changed much. Forests were lush and ponds calm, with various types of Soldier Bees living together harmoniously and peacefully. Tilled fields were full of all sorts of medicinal herbs. Some Worms, equipped with limbs and tentacles, diligently crept between the ridges, spraying water onto the fields to irrigate and fertilize the herbs.

Next to these fields stood a laboratory constructed from thin plastic sheeting. Inside, several Worms were using their arm-like tentacles to operate alcohol burners and beakers.

Each of these Worms had a Brain Worm attached to its head. Normally, to control the Brain Worms with precision, I'd have to expend a considerable amount of Swamp God Power. However, if I allow them to operate autonomously on their most basic instincts, they don't consume any Divine Power at all. This makes them particularly suitable for simple, uncreative tasks, such as watering and fertilizing, tilling land, planting crops, cleaning rubbish, and helping the Worker Bees care for larvae. They can even concoct some simple Magic Potions. They don't require any salary, making them truly the most hardworking and dependable tool-Worms. Of course, I'm not some demon; I still let the Brain Worms take breaks periodically. Every weekend, I also replenish them with a special potion to make their brains feel joyous and happy, encouraging them to work even more diligently and with greater zest.

SWISH—

Li Ang lifted the plastic curtain of the laboratory. The working Worms inside stopped what they were doing when they saw him. They froze, their upper bodies erect, gazing at him.

"Continue working."

At Li Ang's command, the Brain Worm laborers returned to their posts. He then went to a corner of the laboratory and packed all the Magic Potions into an iron box.
