Half an hour earlier.

Ju Tianfu, waking up from unconsciousness, once again met the Bug Nest Overlord Cerberus and reached an agreement with him.

Ju Tianfu would act as a representative of Earth players to assist the Bug Nest in jointly dealing with the Desolated Lion,

and in return, the Bug Nest would ensure the safety of Long Xiang, Bao Bian, Tsuchimikado Xiao Man, and other captives, and grant Ju Tianfu his freedom.

Of course, only a part of his freedom.

Under the slender, lean yet cruel and fierce Bug Nest armor, only Ju Tianfu's exposed head was original,

below the head, there were all living organs produced by the Bug Nest,

which were connected to Ju Tianfu's brain through neural circuits.

Ju Tianfu could manipulate the Bug Nest's living armor as if using his own body, to some extent, this Bug Nest body was even more powerful than his original body,

owing to his Mysterious Dark Divine Mark, located at the back of his neck, he could still use the Mysterious Dark Divine Power,

leveraging the advantage of being the main subject of the Heterodox Academy's artificial deity project to offer help.

However, similarly, the Bug Nest could also terminate the body currently used by Ju Tianfu at any time using the thick and long cable connected to the back of the Bug Nest armor.

From the viewpoint of the System Detector, it was completely invisible that Ju Tianfu was still in captivity, reduced to only a head,

as long as the fans believed Ju Tianfu wasn't captured and remained the last hope, the Power of Faith supplied would be inexhaustible.

According to the Bug Nest Overlord Cerberus, this was a "win-win"...

Though Ju Tianfu didn't feel that being cut down to just a head and exploited in various ways still belonged to a win-win.

"Drink—"

Ju Tianfu emitted a low shout, causing the slanted ice wall to once again erupt with intense frosty cold, temporarily freezing the surface of the giant tentacle.

Mystery yields to higher-grade mystery,

The Divine Power of the Desolated Lion, for now, did not seem more advanced than the Mysterious Dark Divine Power obtained by the Heterodox Academy from the Demon Prison.

Moreover,

the tentacle seemed not strongly linked to the Desolated Lion, and the divine power contained within the tentacle was also constantly waning. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Otherworldly Players..."

A muddled, unclear pain-filled low growl came from the throat of the Desolated Lion, "Are you all going to oppose me too?"

The Bug Nest Tyrant did not respond, but instead raised the long bone blade.

Boom boom boom boom!

The Heavy-duty Soldier Bugs at the back of the battlefield unleashed firepower recklessly,

the various projectiles tore through the sky, bombarding the Desolated Lion's divine power barrier, unable to shatter it but causing significant attrition, making the barrier quiver with ripple-like tremors.

"Die!!"

The enraged Desolated Lion extended more massive tentacles from his back, whipping them around madly, lashing randomly at the surrounding players.

The Side Truth guarded by the Star Realm shield, was just gently brushed by the twisting tentacle, sending the whole person flying horizontally, crashing heavily into the wall,

Baraleika's aps automatic pistol, fired bullets incompatible with the pistol's caliber, comparable to large armor-piercing shells with stabilizing fins, striking the tentacle.

Bang.

Accompanied by a dazzling flash, a large piece of flesh was gouged out from the center of the tentacle, oozing a sticky amber-like liquid,

through the liquid, the white ganglion in the middle of the tentacle could be faintly seen.

Subsequent divine power rushed in, rapidly healing the tentacle, restoring it to its original condition in the next second, continuing its sweeping.

Ju Tianfu, connected by the cable at his back, did not leave, standing on the Ground-drilling Sandworm, hurling an icy spear towards the Desolated Lion,

while the Bug Nest Tyrant propelled himself from the back armor of the Ground-drilling Sandworm, leaping in the air, swinging the blade towards the tentacle.

Ssssh—

The bone blade imbued with Li Ang's Divine Power, sliced open the outer layer of the tentacle, temporarily restraining the tentacle's regenerative abilities.

This bone blade was crafted by the Bug Nest, extremely sharp, slicing through iron like mud,

most critically, the bone blade itself was actually a living organism,

hidden in the blade's edge were nematocysts capable of injecting a plethora of powerful toxins while cutting through objects,

Simultaneously tearing off the biological muscle cells, transporting them to the sac-like organs at the knife handle, analyzing the opponent's cell composition and weaknesses, and urgently producing targeted toxins.

The Bug Nest Tyrant, abandoning the limitations of a human body, had reached breakthroughs in overall muscle strength and life form functionality,

The jets embedded throughout the Tyrant's body could rapidly exchange air, spouting flames, providing thrust, assisting the Tyrant in executing high-intensity maneuvers, narrowly avoiding the Desolated Lion's tentacle strikes.

Players swarmed around the Desolated Lion like flies,

Divine Power, Holy Flame, Ocean Waves, Curses...

A plethora of skills flooded toward the Desolated Lion, yet none could truly tear open its body.

"There came peals of thunder, loud voices, flashes of lightning, an earthquake, and a hail of fire mingled with blood hurled to the land, a blazing star, like a torch falling from the sky,"

The Bug Nest Tyrant slashed through the tentacles with a single knife, repeatedly kicked against the wall, regained balance, and again charged at the Desolated Lion,

Its complex mouthpiece lightly trembled, emitting a murky sound, "I saw another angel fly in the air and heard him loud, say: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabiters of the earth..."

The words of the Bug Nest Tyrant seemed inexplicably out of place in the current environment,

But the Side Truth was profoundly shaken at heart, instantly realizing,

This was the content of the comic "When the Stars Return," hidden inside the mech beasts of the Lost World, Volume 1.

"What are you talking about?"

The Desolated Lion also noticed the strangeness of the Bug Nest Tyrant, its tentacles struck down, smashing the wall, forcing the Tyrant to retreat.

"Volume One,"

The Bug Nest Tyrant uttered in murky and unclear whispers, "Submarine flame."

As previously stated, the comic plot structure of "When the Stars Return" is relatively simple; the protagonist is an elderly cowboy or priest driving a red convertible (appearing as a pink-skinned humanoid creature),

and a clownfish.

From Volume 1 to Volume 11,

The Priest drove with the clownfish on a post-apocalyptic highway resembling a nuclear-wasted land, with a voice-over narrating mystically about the significance of flames to civilization.

The pair arrived in a remote town, styled after the "Fallout" series of games, intending to trade freshwater resources for gasoline,

Unexpectedly, the town suffered an attack from a motorcycle gang, with a group of mermaid thugs breaching the city gates, engaging in a massacre.

The Priest, clad in a trench coat, wearing a hat, and with a cigar in his mouth, recited sacred scripture verses while using two revolvers, throwing knives, and his fists to pummel all the mermaid thugs,

The Priest declined the precious gasoline offered free by the town mayor, insisting on trading water, and continued the journey with the clownfish.

This world was initially prosperous and advanced, yet the scarcity of energy sparked wars; beneath nuclear weapons, civilizations were reduced to ashes, with a few inhabitants struggling to survive in sparse settlements, fields overtaken by genetically mutated monsters and mutant humans, slave trading empires.

The Priest was always searching for the mythical "Star" capable of providing infinite energy and restoring order after the apocalypse,

The duo encountered various dangers in their journey, witnessed human kindness and ugliness, becoming ever more acquainted with each other,

In Volume 8, the Priest finally found clues about the Star, arriving at a friend's home, entrusting the clownfish, a companion and friend, to the robotic computer widow of the friend's wife, acquiring weapons and gear, before embarking alone on the quest for the Star.

He reached a subterranean military base built before the nuclear wars, pyramid-shaped upside-down, and fought off monstrous mutants inside, eventually discovering Star's information in the research center.

Originally, there was no Star capable of providing infinite energy; the "Star" was merely a research project of military powers from the past era—exploring the mutation potential of organisms under radiation from a meteorite from an alien planet.

The abominable creatures within the underground base, and the mutants near the surface, were all results of the alien meteorite radiation.

Severely injured, the Priest suffered a major blow, surrounded by grotesque creatures in a sealed laboratory, losing hope of combat,

But the clownfish, carrying weapons and equipment, led surface dwellers who had received the Priest's help during the journey, reaching here and rescuing him.

The group, pursued and encircled by mutant monsters, fought and retreated, eventually reaching the base's lowest level, witnessing the so-called "alien meteorite," a giant stele placed in a deep pit engraved with unknown characters.

At the end of Volume 12,

The group was trapped underground by mutant creatures,

Rather than destroying the stele, the Priest manually activated it according to the experimental records of the past era,

After a final farewell to the clownfish, the Priest stepped into the radiated area of the stele, undergoing irreversible mutation and transforming into a certain indescribable massive life form,

Killing the mutant monsters of the underground base while bringing the group back to the surface.

"Amber-like energy is not mineral but bio-energy."

The Bug Nest Overlord whispered to the Desolated Lion, "What you are connected to is not a native Deity,

but a highly genetically mutated starfish, capable of producing infinite energy, worshipped by native inhabitants of the Lost World over millions of years, spontaneously generating Divine Power."
