Genetic Ascension-Chapter 969 Origin [Top Five in Golden Tickets Bonus]
Chapter 969 Origin [Top Five in Golden Tickets Bonus]
Standing in a crown of flames as though it could hardly affect him at all, Sylas crushed the heart of the treant BOSS.
His eyes still seemed to be somewhat glazed over.
After breaking through, he didn't seem to have regained his focus again, still focusing on the feeling that was coursing through him.
Truthfully, he didn't even need the Basilisk King right now. It was overkill considering the 110% boost that was coursing through him right now. With the Basilisk King, well…
His stats were dwarfing six figures right now. In this world, that might have just been three, but the end result was much the same.
Nothing changed.

[Final Wave Cleared]
[Perfect Clearance]

Sylas exhaled another breath, his eyes finally regaining small hints of focus.
The lightning around him calmed slightly, but now, weaving through the strands in his evolved eyes, there was a depth of lightning to them. Sylas felt that if he wanted to, he could fry someone to ash with just a gaze—his eyes themselves had gained the ability to project lightning.
No, it was more like his Will had taken the shape of Glassvolt. Now that it was Forged, and had found its manifested form, it was like his Will had taken another half step forward.
The world around Sylas warped as his black scales faded away. When his vision cleared, he was standing in a foggy world of black. The only point of light was a cube of complex patterns fitted together like a jigsaw puzzle, descending in a radiant orb of Bronze.

An impossible gap to bridge had suddenly opened up. Sylas wasn't sure how important that Leaderboard was, but what he did know was that it definitely played more of a role than allowing everyone to keep tabs on each other.
In an ideal world, he hoped that these Silver Genes wouldn't just disappear in the end… but he had a feeling that things would never be so easy.
But what was important now was that he had gotten his hands on exactly what he needed.
Reaching forward, he took the City Stele. The world warped around him again, but because he could even decide how to go about the next leg of his plan, there was a change.

[System Origin Reward Received]
—
Sylas was taken aback. What did he do this time? He couldn't think of having done anything special. Even upgrading his Glassvolt Comprehension was something he had already done with his Madness Comprehension not long ago.
'Wait—.'
That was when it clicked for Sylas.
His Madness Comprehension wasn't something the system liked. If anything, it would probably prefer for it to be wiped from existence entirely.
But his Glassvolt Comprehension was something that the system was more than willing to embrace.
'Could that really be it?'
Sylas had a feeling that he was on the right track, and that he was.
The system was always looking to improve. While it was spurring on the evolution of those under its umbrella, it too was trying to grasp methods of improvement.
Not being able to bestow Legendary Comprehensions was a huge issue for it, and it limited the strengths of the Races and beings under it greatly.
As such… whenever someone not only pleased it, but allowed it to observe an evolution path that could help it refine itself…
It granted an Origin Reward.

[Origin Reward]
[>Glassvolt Baron (Gene Class) (Fragmented)]
OR
[>Throne of Glassvolt Baron (Class) (Legendary)]
—
Sylas stared at the screen for a long while and then ignored the notification.
There was no rush for him to make a decision right now, but he knew that the system was almost certainly giving him another clue.
There was a chance to improve a Gene Class that went beyond just relying on the system to give him a Quest for it. If there wasn't, there was no way that the system would try to give him this as a reward.
But by the same token, Sylas wasn't going to take the chance of losing what stats he had, not yet.
He wasn't sure if Glassvolt Baron would weaken his current stats or not. But he knew that he had no way of confirming that. He couldn't risk it.
He could accept the reward whenever he wanted, it wasn't going anywhere.
Right now, his main task was something else.
When Sylas' vision cleared, he found that all the Serpentes were around him. His gaze flickered to the Bronze City Stele and he wondered if he should do things here or try to find a better location.
After some thought, he made his decision.
Using up all of his Genes, he unlocked Vipermancer. Once this power was brimming within him again, Beacon echoed through the land once more.
Then, Sylas turned his vision to the Bronze Stele City.
—
[Activate Bronze City Stele?]
[Yes][No]
—
"Nosphaleen." Sylas spoke out and the beautiful Clypsian appeared once again. "You will be City Lord."
"Understood."
Sylas wasn't even sure if this was possible, but he didn't see why not other than the fact Nosphaleen wasn't an Overlord Race member. But in this world, technically speaking, none of them were.
As expected, there was no issue.
Nosphaleen's body glowed with a bronze light and city structures began to spontaneously form one after another.
"The rest of you, clear out the region. I want as many Genes collected as possible until this area has nothing more to give."
Sylas thought that it was probably about time he leveled back up to 50. Since his Class was unlocked, there was no longer a need to hold back.
While his Serpentes gathered the Gene Cores he needed… he would figure out how to integrate his World Treasure with his Bronze City Stele.
Once that was successful, he would end it all.
…
As Sylas was moving toward this goal though… the sudden jump to his Silver Gene total had caused a violent stir.
Lorien and Ulrik both stared at the total and they both reached the same conclusion…
They couldn't continue with their original plans.
