Chapter 440: Abyssal leader vs Apollo and Commander (Part-2)

With a powerful shockwave, finally the black vortex devouring power reached its limit.

CRAAAAAACK—!

Thin fractures of light raced across its surface, spreading faster than the abyssal energy could devour them. The vortex twisted, buckled, and—

BOOOOOOM—!! It shattered.

The sky cleared. The battlefield calmed down.

Apollo and Commander Sword’s remaining power crackled the air.

The abyssal leader staggered back half a step, armour crawling with fresh, jagged cracks. His enraged snarl twisted further as he stared at the two swordsmen.

"You insects... deserve to be devoured."

He didn’t expect Apollo’s and the commander’s combined strength would be able to overpower him.

"Die! Die!!!"

His aura seemed to get out of control, and a powerful, devouring aura filled with life-sucking power seemed to erupt through the battlefield.

The tentacles’ armour seemed to become enlarged and bulky, with numerous black tentacles coming out from it, and started to wreak havoc, attacking in all directions without any care.

They struck in every direction.

No aim.

No restraint.

Just pure destruction.

BOOM—BOOM—BOOM—

Every tentacle that touched something left no remains.

A swordsman who tried to raise his blade dissolved into grey dust. An abyssal monster unfortunate enough to be too close suffered the same fate, its roar cut short as its body erased itself from existence. Weapons, barriers, earth—none endured more than a heartbeat.

The battlefield descended into chaos. Cries turned into silence. The sky dimmed under the spreading black tide.

And in the centre of the storm, the abyssal leader roared, madness overwhelming reason as he harvested life indiscriminately.

Everything he touched vanished.

"No, stop..."

Apollo and the commander moved the instant the first wave of destruction swept through the field. Their figures blurred, then vanished entirely.

In the next heartbeat, they reappeared—one on the left, one on the right—flanking the berserk abyssal leader like twin blades closing in on a single target.

No words. No hesitation.

Apollo’s Eternal Sword Rule ignited, quiet and absolute, a thin line of inevitability. The commander’s fourth-layer Sword Rule roared, sharp enough to split the sky.

Both slashes fell at once.

SHING—SHING—

Two streaks of sword light, one ethereal and one razor-pure, carved toward the monster’s swollen, tentacled form. The air trembled, space shattered, and the devouring aura recoiled.

Crack! Crack!...

Although the cracks on the armour increased, he managed to hold it and then punched at both sides with terrifying power.

His monstrous fists—each wrapped in writhing black tentacles—lashed toward Apollo and the commander with enough force to kill peak Eternal Gods in a heartbeat.

BOOM! BOOM!

The air burst apart as the punches tore through space itself, shockwaves exploding outward like collapsing stars.

Both of them, seeing this, quickly held their swords and tried to block the deathly punch, but the power of these fists was beyond comprehension.

Even Apollo, who was confident in his physical powers, felt overwhelming pressure from it.

Boom! Boom!

The fists landed.

A pair of explosions erupted like twin suns detonating at point-blank range. Space split apart in jagged streaks as Apollo and the commander were blasted away, their figures flung across the sky. They tore through layers of space like falling meteors, vanishing into the distance behind rippling fractures of space.

The abyssal leader didn’t stop as he moved towards Apollo, tearing through space. Even though he seemed to have lost his mind, his instinct still felt the danger from him.

He quickly appeared beside Apollo the moment he regained his balance and punched again, not giving Apollo a chance.

Apollo didn’t retreat.

He didn’t flinch.

A grin cut across his face, sharp and fearless. "Come then—bring it on."

His aura surged. The Eternal Sword Rule roared awake around him, threads of reality bending into the shape of a blade. His sword rose, wrapped in an authority that ignored distance, ignored defence, and ignored fear.

Then they collided.

BOOM!

BANG!

BOOM!

Their figures blurred, vanishing and reappearing with every clash. In the span of a heartbeat, they exchanged hundreds of blows—fist against sword, abyss against eternity.

Space shattered like glass around them.

Shockwaves rippled through the battlefield, blowing away monsters and soldiers alike. Every collision sent rings of distorted air roaring outward, carving trenches through the ground and tearing cracks through the distant mountains.

Apollo’s sword light carved open the abyssal armour. The abyssal leader’s fists warped the air, shaking Apollo’s bones.

Both held their ground—equal, unstoppable, terrifying.

But as they fought, the more violent and berserk the abyssal leader became, along with the continued rise in strength.

Apollo’s expression became serious. The pressure on him was rising every moment. He had to end it quickly.

He started to gather his strength, and this time he was going to use every rule and pour all of his strength.

Space, destruction, fire, lunar and his eternal sword rule seemed to converge, creating a terrifying aura that seemed to make the heaven and earth tremble.

The berserk abyssal leader seemed to feel danger and was ready to attack, not wanting to give Apollo a chance to gather his strength.

But—

SHIIIIING.

A sword beam flashed in from behind, pure and perfect, cutting through the blackened sky like the judgement of a god.

The blow forced the abyssal leader to halt instantly. Even in his berserk state, even drowned in madness, he felt the danger of that sword.

Commander had arrived—his sword rule gathered to its sharpest point, aimed straight at the creature’s exposed back.

This intervention halted the abyssal leader while Apollo gathered his strength.

"Now."

With that roar, Apollo swung his sword. It was a simple strike, but the power and mystery hidden within this simple sword were beyond eternal gods; it even seemed to surpass the half-step transcendent realm.

The moment the slash fell—

Everything obeyed.

Time shivered.

Space cracked.

The abyssal leader’s tentacle’s armour split down the centre as if welcoming the strike.

It brushed against the realm that should have remained unreachable—yet Apollo touched it with a simple sword swing.

The abyssal leader’s roar was choked, strangled halfway. A white fissure ran through his entire body, from crown to abyssal claws.

Then—

SHATTER. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

A burst of silent light. A collapse of corrupted essence. The monstrous figure split apart from existence itself, dissolving into drifting black smoke swallowed by the trembling sky.
