Chapter 461: Attacking Sovereign (Part-1)

Apollo, within the sword tomb, didn’t know that a Sovereign, even though injured, was coming towards him.

His entire focus was on the ancient sword in his hand. After his breakthrough he seemed to feel the connection with this sword and felt its vastness.

Though it appeared to be nothing more than a simple sword, only Apollo knew what he was experiencing.

For a fleeting moment, it felt as if he were connected to the world itself—like an omniscient being who could see, know, and comprehend everything in a single instant.

Yet he understood this was merely an illusion.

An illusion born from the sword’s unfathomable mysteries... Or perhaps from the origin within it.

Still, even that illusion was enough to make his heart tremble.

Although he wasn’t exactly omniscient, still he seemed to be connected to the entire Empyrean sword realm and could see the different battlefields through this sword.

He saw how the Empyrean Sword Realm seemed to be winning right now. He was also able to use some of the world’s strength to suppress the abyssal transcendents.

Knowing this, he felt a surge of excitement through him.

But before that excitement could settle—

The world trembled.

A suffocating pressure descended from the depths of the void, vast and overwhelming. Apollo’s expression changed as he felt it through the sword’s connection.

He looked up sharply.

The Shadow Sovereign had entered the Empyrean Sword Realm.

He was like a god and saw the shadow Sovereign whom he had seen before the beginning of this war. But now he noticed that he doesn’t seems to appear like that terrifying mysterious being whose mere presence previously shook his soul.

Through the eyes of the world, he noticed he was injured, and to be specific, it appeared he had damaged his entire foundation, as if on the verge of collapse. Compared to his former peak, his current strength might not even amount to a thousandth of what it once was.

But he was still a sovereign even supremes still might find difficult to face him. Not only that, but he seemed to be coming towards the direction of the sword tomb.

"Hmm."

He was surprised, as it seemed to be coming towards him, but when he noticed a compass-like treasure in his hand, he understood he might be coming for him or, rather, for the ancient sword he was holding.

Maybe because he pulled it out and awakened it, that compass-like treasure can locate it, but he didn’t have time to think about it more, as he had to do something to stop Shadow Sovereign.

If this were an ordinary situation, even a severely injured Shadow Sovereign—one whose strength was reduced to less than a thousandth of his former self—would still be far beyond something Apollo could handle.

But this was no longer an ordinary situation.

He now wielded the ancient sword. He was backed by the power of the Empyrean Sword Realm itself.

And within the Sword Tomb, the projection of the Sword Sovereign was still present.

Though that projection could not last long, Apollo could clearly feel its power. Even as a mere manifestation, its strength had reached the level of a Supreme—it was only limited by how long it could maintain its existence before its energy was exhausted.

If there was ever a chance to stop a Sovereign... This was it.

He wasn’t going to leave this place, as Sword Tomb was the perfect place for facing a threat of sovereign.

Apollo turned his gaze toward the projection of the Sword Sovereign.

"Sword Sovereign," he said calmly, yet with a dangerous glint in his eyes, "trouble is coming. I’ll need your help."

As the words left his mouth, a bold—almost insane—idea began to take shape in his mind.

A plan... to hunt a Sovereign.

Even Apollo himself felt a faint tremor of excitement at the thought. This was madness. Even injured, a Sovereign was an existence that stood above reason.

However, when he looked at the ancient and felt its connection to him, it let him feel it wasn’t impossible.

Outside, Shadow Sovereign tearing through space was moving towards Sword Tomb, and in a matter of seconds, he arrived just outside the secret space of Sword Tomb.

He scanned the empty space with his spiritual sense; although weakened, he still felt something was hidden here.

"Hidden space," he murmured, looking at the empty area which appeared like nothing was present there.

But he wasn’t going to leave just because of this.

His hand slowly rose.

In an instant, a vast shadowy aura erupted from his body, spreading across thousands of miles. It flowed like venom through the void, seeping into every crevice of space, corroding laws and eroding existence itself.

The darkness crept forward, poisoning the invisible barrier as it revealed faint ripples—proof that something had indeed been concealed there.

"Open Shadow spear."

His eyes glowed, and the shadow around hundreds of miles instantly started to fuse and turned into a dark shadow spear three metres long.

He then instantly threw the spear in the empty space.

Boom!

The spear tore through space and collided with the invisible barrier. A deafening explosion rang out as the sky itself trembled, ripples spreading across the void like shattered glass.

Crack! Crack!

Fractures spread across the unseen defence like shattered glass. In the next instant, the spear pierced straight through.

The barrier collapsed.

As its remnants dispersed, the ancient Sword Tomb was finally revealed, standing openly within the void, its profound sword aura surging outward, its presence revealed to the world once more.

Seeing this, Shadow Sovereign calmly walked forward and entered the sword tomb. He was confident; even though he was weakened, he still believed he could handle any supreme. He didn’t care about anyone who could stop him aside from Sovereigns.

The moment he entered the sword tomb, the millions of swords within it trembled, and instantly terrifying sword energy raged through the secret realm.

Clang—clang—clang!

The air screamed as countless sword energies surged, sharp enough to tear apart both matter and soul.

This was completely different from when Apollo had entered.

Back then, the Sword Tomb had merely tested him.

Now, it was enraged.

Every sword within the realm radiated murderous will, locking onto the intruder with absolute hostility. The momentum of the sword storm was overwhelming, carrying a single intent—

Annihilation.
