Chapter 451 - This Trainee Fatui Harbinger is Too Unreliable [451]
From the other side of the battlefield.
The white-haired woman, who had exuded an air of dominance since her appearance, now showed a flicker of emotion in her eyes. It resembled confusion, perhaps even fear—but fear wasn't within her understanding. Instead, it seemed like she was merely contemplating how to deal with Luo Qing.
"Outsider..."
At last, the white-haired woman spoke her first words since her arrival.
"Your existence... should be erased."
As she finished, countless crimson spatial rifts appeared behind her, obscuring half the sky.
The next moment, chains formed from countless crimson cubes shot forth from the rifts, aiming directly at Luo Qing.
In an instant, the crimson hue blanketed the entire sky.
"Huh?!"
"A big move right off the bat? Seriously?!"
Luo Qing gasped sharply, weaving through the onslaught of crimson chains.
He couldn't help but notice the discrepancy. When this puppet had been fighting with Ei and Nahida earlier, it had only summoned two chains. Now that it was facing him, the chains filled the entire sky, completely ignoring Neuvillette on the side.
If this wasn't targeted aggression, what was?
Meanwhile, Neuvillette, though unsure why "The Sustainer" was solely focused on Luo Qing, wasn't about to stand idly by.
With a mere thought, he summoned several towering water pillars, destroying the crimson chains pursuing Luo Qing.
Although their elemental attacks were ineffective against The Sustainer itself, the crimson chains were still susceptible to damage. During the time Luo Qing was unconscious, Neuvillette, along with Ei and Nahida, had focused their efforts on attacking these chains.
Even with Neuvillette's support, under the sea of crimson chains that covered the heavens, Luo Qing could only dodge with all his might.
But in the blink of an eye, just as he sidestepped another attack, the space before him suddenly tore open. A crimson chain shot forth, striking him squarely in the face.
A deafening explosion echoed across the sky as crimson smoke enveloped Luo Qing, obscuring his figure.
Inside the opera house, the spectators gasped in unison, their hearts clenched in worry.
Only Makoto remained calm, her expression unchanging, as if this was not something to be concerned about. The true threat, it seemed, was yet to come.
The smoke began to clear.
Luo Qing stood there, surrounded by seven chess pieces. The crimson chains that touched him were instantly transformed into streaks of light and absorbed into the chess pieces.
"This..."
Luo Qing was momentarily struck speechless by his own astonishment.
These chess pieces had such a function? Why hadn't the item description mentioned this before?!
Realizing the chess pieces could absorb the chain's energy—apparently without limit—Luo Qing quickly understood he no longer needed to fear the enemy's attacks.
No, it was the enemy who should be afraid.
"Now that you're done, it's my turn!"
With that, the energy enveloping Luo Qing blazed brightly, and he charged toward the white-haired woman.
From that moment, the once-menacing sea of crimson chains seemed to lose its threat.
No matter how many chains were unleashed at Luo Qing, they were all absorbed by the seven chess pieces upon contact, turning into radiant streaks of light.
The distance between them closed rapidly.
Having lost her primary means of attack, it took mere seconds for Luo Qing to reach the white-haired woman.
Crossing his dual blades, he slashed downward.
Almost simultaneously, a spatial rift appeared behind the woman, and she slipped through it to evade.
Moments later, hundreds of meters away, another spatial rift opened, and the white-haired woman emerged.
But this time, things were different.
A faint cross-shaped slash now marred her immaculate black-and-white fitted dress, just above her stomach.
"His attacks... are effective."
Neuvillette, observing this from the side, was utterly shocked.
No wonder he had felt a peculiar energy emanating from the deep violet aura surrounding Luo Qing.
It appeared to exist independently of the seven elements, or perhaps even beyond this world altogether.
Similarly, the white-haired woman gazed down at the cross-shaped wound on her abdomen, her expression tinged with confusion.
The outsider's attack was weak, yet it could inflict genuine harm upon her.
In her understanding, only one entity could achieve such a feat...
The Abyss.
The woman's expression turned icy.
Lifting her gaze to the distant Luo Qing, her eyes brimmed with a cold determination to erase him entirely.
"All that constitutes your existence must be eradicated..."
As she spoke, more spatial rifts emerged behind her, and countless crimson chains shot forth once more, aiming at Luo Qing.
But just as before, any chains that came into contact with Luo Qing were absorbed by the seven chess pieces.
In mere moments, the chess pieces radiated a brilliance so intense it illuminated even the stormy, darkened skies.
The white-haired woman seemed to have no other means of attack, yet retreating wasn't an option she considered.
Erasing Luo Qing had become her sole mission, even at the cost of her own destruction.
The balance of power shifted on the battlefield.
Where once the white-haired woman held her ground against three god-like beings, she now found herself being pursued across the skies by Luo Qing.
Each time he closed the gap, she would create a spatial rift to escape.
Occasionally, her movements were too slow, allowing Luo Qing's blades to graze her, leaving shallow cuts in her black-and-white dress and revealing pale, flawless skin beneath.
The back-and-forth continued, her power visibly waning. The crimson chains dwindled in number, her movements became sluggish, and her once-overpowering presence began to falter.
Luo Qing, on the other hand, grew more relentless with every passing moment, his energy seemingly inexhaustible. To him, the white-haired woman no longer seemed like an opponent—more like a frightened rabbit.
Time passed.
The white-haired woman's strength faded further. Even her spatial rifts appeared slower, and her dress, now riddled with tears, exposed more of her alabaster skin.
Though the sight might have been alluring, Luo Qing wasn't in the mood for distractions. If this woman wasn't dealt with, both he and Makoto's group would face dire consequences.
Finally, after feinting an attack, Luo Qing accurately predicted her next escape point.
As she emerged from the rift, Luo Qing was already there, waiting.
With a single, decisive thrust, his blade pierced her body.
At that moment, the crimson chains and spatial rifts vanished entirely, leaving only the white-haired woman before Luo Qing.
The battle seemed to have reached its conclusion.
But just as Luo Qing felt assured of victory, the white-haired woman lifted her head and grasped his arm with both hands.
Luo Qing immediately sensed something was wrong and tried to retreat, but it was too late.
A spatial rift appeared behind her, expanding rapidly to envelop them both.
In an instant, they vanished from the sky.
