Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 843: Rou Lan
She still cared about her. Just like she had gotten used to the expensive life with Yu Lin, she also couldn’t let go of her only child.
"She’s with Yu Holea," the witch said.
"I’ve tried everything, but I can’t get close. That girl’s protection spells are too strong. But if you... if you lure her into Yu Mansion, I can finally trap her. And then..." her voice turned sharp, "I’ll take what’s mine."
The woman frowned.
"I’ve been hiding from the Yu family for twenty years. If I suddenly show up again, they’ll know something is wrong. What if they try to kill me?"
The witch’s tone turned softer now.
"I’ll protect you. I’ll cast a strong spell. No black magic, no spiritual attack, no curses will touch you. No one will be able to hurt you."
The sister stayed silent again.
Then she sighed.
"Fine. But this is the last time I help you," she said firmly. "Once this is over, I’m cutting all ties with you. Forever."
The witch’s smile faded.
She glared. "You really are heartless."
But in her mind, she was already planning.
She didn’t need her sister for long. Once she got Yu Holea’s powers, her body, her identity—she would be unstoppable.
With Yu Holea’s cultivation, she could either create a new body for herself...
...or better yet, she could take over Yu Holea’s body and become her.
Then she would destroy everyone.
No one would ever suspect a thing.
And she would live rich, powerful, and untouchable.
The witch’s head tilted, a sick smile on her lips.
She looked at her sister and said sweetly, "Good. I’m ready whenever you are."
Yu Mei’s mother gave a relieved sigh. "I’m glad you’re not making this hard. Maybe you’ve finally learned what’s good for you."
The dark water started to fade, and the woman’s face began to disappear.
"Once this is done, we’re done. Forever."
And the connection broke.
The mud turned solid again.
The witch floated there silently for a second... then rolled her eyes.
"Tch. That ungrateful woman."
Her smile turned wicked.
"The moment I take over Yu Holea’s body... the first person I’ll kill is her."
..................................
Yu Lin stared at the divorce papers in front of him, his hands trembling slightly.
He couldn’t believe it.
His gentle, polite wife—his partner of nearly thirty years—had really sent him divorce papers.
Why?They had been together for so long. She had never once talked about leaving him, no matter how bad things got. So why now?
His heart felt heavy, like a stone sitting in his chest.
He wanted to see her. To talk to her. To ask her why she would suddenly want this.
But when he looked up, the lawyer sitting across from him was smirking like a sly fox.
Yu Lin wanted to scream.
The lawyer had just told him that he couldn’t meet his wife anymore. Not after everything he had done.
And worse... he had proof.
Proof that Yu Lin had tricked his wife into sleeping with another man, just for the sake of a business deal.
Yu Lin’s face turned pale.
That one mistake... was enough to send him to jail.
The lawyer calmly handed him a second copy of the divorce papers.
"You can sign this now," he said smoothly, "or we’ll see you in court."
Yu Lin clenched his fists.
"I’ll only sign it if I get to meet her," he growled. "She’s still my wife!"
But the lawyer shook his head, still smiling.
"She made a special request," he said. "She said she feels uncomfortable around you. So there will be no meeting."
"Uncomfortable?!" Yu Lin snapped. "We’ve lived together for thirty years! What do you mean, uncomfortable?!"
The lawyer chuckled. "Not every man tricks his wife into sharing her bed with someone else just to gain profit."
Yu Lin’s eyes flared with anger. "That was a misunderstanding!"
The lawyer shrugged, completely unfazed. "Either sign the papers... or get ready for court."
Yu Lin went silent.
His hands felt cold. His heart beat hard in his chest.
The last few months hadn’t been good for him. After all the scandals, the company had been handed back to him. But it wasn’t the same.
He worked day and night just to keep up with what his son had been doing.
And only now did he realize... just how much his son had handled.
His son had kept everything together while Yu Lin was busy enjoying life.
But now... his son had quit.
He had built his own successful company, and Yu Lin? He was left struggling to keep the family business from falling apart.
And now... his wife was leaving him too.
He had delayed the divorce papers for months, making excuses every time.
But today, the lawyer had come back stronger. Harsher. Even warning that they would sue him if he kept delaying.
If they sued... the stock prices would crash again.
Yu Lin rubbed his forehead. His head hurt.
Just then, his phone rang.
The ringtone was a sweet, soft song—the one he had set specially for his mistress.
Usually, that sound brought him joy. Excitement.
But this time, as he looked at the divorce papers...
He felt nothing.
No thrill. No excitement. Only bitterness.
The lawyer stood up. "Take a break if you want," he said with a shrug.
But Yu Lin shook his head. "I’ll sign... but only if I get to meet her."
The lawyer ignored him this time.
He packed up his things and left, leaving the divorce papers on the table like a slap across Yu Lin’s face.
Yu Lin gritted his teeth.
Then, slowly, he picked up the call.
He took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay calm.
"What do you want this time?" he asked coldly.
There was silence for a moment.
Then a soft, surprised voice spoke.
"...Yu Lin? What’s wrong?"
It was his mistress—Yumi’s mother. Her name was Ruo Lan.
Hearing his cold tone, she sounded stunned.
Yu Lin quickly realized he had been rude.
He sighed and softened his voice. "Sorry, Ruo Lan. I’m under a lot of work pressure. I didn’t mean to sound like that."
"Oh," Ruo Lan said quietly. "It’s okay. I just... I wanted to ask if I could visit Yu Mansion."
Yu Lin froze.
"...Why?" he asked slowly.
There was silence again.
Then Ruo Lan said in a soft voice, "I haven’t stepped into the city in a long time. That was always because of you, remember? I never complained. I stayed hidden. But... I’m fifty now. I’m not young anymore. I’m getting closer to the end of my life."
Her voice trembled a little.
"I just want to see where you grew up. I want to know that part of you, Yu Lin. Before it’s too late."
Yu Lin said nothing.
He couldn’t speak.
Once, he had thought about divorcing his wife and living openly with Ruo Lan. He had even dreamed about it.
But now...
Now that his wife had actually sent him divorce papers...
He couldn’t even smile.
He felt... empty.
No matter how much Ruo Lan begged to live with him openly, no matter how much she said she loved him...
Finally, he sighed deeply and said into the phone, "Ruo Lan... right now, things aren’t going well. The Yu Corporation is sinking little by little, and I’ve got too many problems on my plate. If I bring you here now... I won’t be able to protect you."
There was a pause on the other end of the line.
Then, in a soft but determined voice, Ruo Lan replied, "I’m not afraid of hardship, Yu Lin. I’ve already gone through a lot for you. I loved you so much that I was willing to become your mistress. I gave up my youth... I hid in the shadows... and I waited. I never asked for much. But now, when I’m getting old, I really can’t hold on anymore."
Yu Lin’s heart ached.
What she said was true.
She had given up so much for him. Her pride, her future, her name—everything.
She kept going.
"Compared to me, Mrs. Yu was lucky. She had everything. Everyone praised her. She had your name. Your house. Your status. And me? I had nothing. I was just someone hiding in the dark, waiting to see you for even a few minutes."
Yu Lin felt guilt rising in his chest. Her voice sounded sad, tired, but honest.
She continued again, her voice softer now, "I don’t want to compare myself to her... but I never got any gifts, never got the love or respect she got. And I still stayed."
Yu Lin closed his eyes for a second and then said quietly, "Ruo Lan... I promise. I’ll fulfill your wish. Just give me a few days."
There was silence again.
Then Ruo Lan said gently,
"Yu Lin... I’m not pressuring you. If it’s really too hard, you don’t have to do anything. I just... I’ve always wished that I could be your official wife.
Maybe not in this life, but in the next one... I hope I can walk beside you openly, not hiding... not being looked down on by your father."
