Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence-Chapter 119 - 114: Black Dragon Legion VS Blood Throat Warband
「A few hours later.」
As Raylo and his mount flew over the border between the Jade Swamp and the Black Stone Mountain Range, his brow furrowed slightly.
The skies ahead were anything but calm.
An oppressive black mass blotted the distant horizon, like roiling storm clouds, and it was moving toward them at an astonishing speed.
On closer inspection, it wasn’t a storm cloud at all, but a vast horde of countless flying Demons!
"Baofeng, lower your altitude! Keep your distance!"
Raylo acted decisively, patting Baofeng.
The Storm Griffin King understood, tucking in its wings and diving silently like a streak of light. It concealed itself on the shadowed face of a steep peak in the outer reaches of the Black Stone Mountain Range, peeking out with only half its head to watch the distant horde warily.
From his high perch on the peak, Raylo gazed into the distance.
He could see clearly that at the forefront of the dark mass was a Giant Dragon of terrifying size!
The Dragon’s body was nearly a hundred meters long, its entire form covered in scales as deep and dark as obsidian that glinted with a cold, metallic light. A pair of massive, curved horns grew from its savage head, flickering with an ominous red glow.
When it spread its wings, it blotted out the sun, and every flap kicked up violent gales.
The thick stench of sulfur seemed to drift over, faintly perceptible even from a kilometer away.
A Black Dragon!
Behind the Black Dragon were thousands of Jackal-Wolf Folk.
These monsters had hyena-like heads and upright bodies. They wielded crude bone clubs and stone axes, and their eyes glinted with bloodlust and cruelty.
Propelled by some unseen force, they formed a black tide on the ground behind the Black Dragon, surging frantically along the border where the mountains met the swamp.
Above the Jackal-Wolf Folk army, hordes of flying Demons circled.
There was an ugly Bat Dragon with a wingspan of over twenty meters, along with dozens of Wind Blade Griffins flying in formation, their mottled feathers making them look even more savage.
Additionally, vast flocks of cawing Demon Crows, like black harbingers of death, circled above the army, serving as both scouts and skirmishers.
The ground troops also included massive, heavily armored Earth Dragons, which let out deep roars and served as heavy units to break the enemy’s charge.
This was, without a doubt, a highly organized and extremely aggressive army!
’Where are they headed?’
No sooner had the question surfaced in Raylo’s mind than the answer revealed itself.
From the direction of the Jade Swamp, an equally monstrous and baleful aura erupted!
HISS!
A piercing, hair-raising hiss tore through the sky.
Immediately after, a colossal creature thrust itself out from the dense woods deep within the swamp.
It was a Three-headed Snake Monster!
Rearing up, it stood a full twenty meters tall. Its three savage heads, held high, were each a different color: dark green, deep violet, and russet.
Scarlet forked tongues flickered in and out, and its bowl-sized snake eyes glinted with a cold light.
Its massive, serpentine body was covered in thick, dense scales that reflected the sunlight with an unsettling, oily sheen.
Behind the Three-headed Snake Monster, over a thousand Snake-man Warriors, wielding long spears and curved sabers, swarmed out of the swamp, letting out intimidating hisses.
Their lower bodies were thick, serpentine tails, while their upper torsos were humanoid, though their skin was covered in slimy scales.
In the skies above, the Jade Swamp’s own aerial forces rose to meet the enemy.
Highly Poisonous Feathered Serpents, brilliantly colored and with astonishing wingspans; swarms of giant mosquitos with razor-sharp proboscises; and other bizarre flying swamp Demons that even Raylo couldn’t name—all of them shrieked as they charged toward the Black Dragon’s air force.
On the ground, in addition to the Snake-men, thick-hided Swamp Giant Lizards and Swamp Giant Crocodiles lurking in the mire also joined the fray.
The two vast tides of Demons smashed into each other without hesitation, right on the border between the Jade Swamp and the Black Stone Mountain Range!
BOOM!
The deafening impact resounded, as if the very earth were trembling.
Raylo held his breath, his eyes wide with shock.
This was a true war of Demons!
The sheer scale of the battle and the power of the Demons involved far surpassed anything he had ever imagined.
Fierce battle first erupted in the sky.
The Black Dragon’s Bat Dragons and Wind Blade Griffins charged fearlessly toward the Highly Poisonous Feathered Serpents. Sharp fangs and claws clashed against Poison Fangs and feathered wings. Again and again, Demons shrieked in agony as they plummeted from the sky like kites with their strings cut.
The crimson Demon Crows tangled with the giant mosquitos. Their sharp beaks and talons tore at the mosquitos’ fragile wings, while the mosquitos tried to use their short-spear-like proboscises to pierce the crows’ bodies.
The battlefield on the ground was even more brutal and bloody.
The Jackal-Wolf Folk let out bloodthirsty howls, brandishing their crude weapons as they locked into a deadly melee with the fearless Snake-men.
The sounds of shattering bone and the sight of flying flesh and blood were everywhere.
The Earth Dragons used their massive size and momentum to rampage through the Snake-man ranks, leaving a river of blood and gore in their wake.
Meanwhile, the Swamp Giant Lizards and Giant Crocodiles used their familiarity with the terrain to launch surprise attacks from the mire, dragging lone Jackal-Wolf Folk to their deaths.
The two commanders-in-chief, the Black Dragon and the Three-headed Snake Monster, engaged in an earth-shattering struggle at the center of the battlefield.
The Black Dragon roared, unleashing its devastating Shadow Dragon Breath. Everything in its path, whether Snake-man or swamp vegetation, was instantly incinerated to charcoal.
A swipe of its sharp claws could easily tear through solid rock and the Snake Monster’s tough scale armor.
The Three-headed Snake Monster was no less formidable, its three heads acting in unison.
The dark green head spat highly corrosive venom, the deep violet head released an eerie poisonous fog, and the russet head gathered and unleashed a scorching breath of flame.
