Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System-Chapter 75: The Familiar Error
The mechanical soldier was actually inside a capsule or chamber that was also connected to wires hanging from the ceiling and scattered across the floor.
This A-Grade Sentinel was at the center of the room, and it looked nothing like the Sentinels they had dismantled before.
It wasn’t bulky. Its frame was smooth, with barely any angular parts. It almost looked like a human wearing a full-body suit with a tight helmet. The design was advanced, far more refined than the crude shapes of the lower-grade Sentinels.
Kai stepped closer, brushing dust off the capsule. The glass was scratched, and most of the letters on it had faded. Only one word could still be read clearly: ATOM...
"Atom..." Kai muttered. "Is that the company? Or its name?"
On the other hand, Victor’s eyes widened. "This is amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it. If I dismantle it, we’ll learn so much!"
Kai raised his hand quickly. "No. Not this one. It’s different... Just focus on the low-grade ones for now."
Victor frowned but didn’t argue. He knew Kai was serious.
Anyway, the group looked around the workshop.
There were shelves filled with spare parts, like extra limbs, synthetic muscle fibers, shield, and armor for the A-Grade Sentinel! There were even crates with bladed weapons inside.
However, the most important were the rifles!
Ralph pulled one out, and he could barely carry it!
"Ahhh... This thing is heavy!"
Thud!
He immediately put it down as he realized that it was custom-made for Mechanical Soldiers and not humans.
Kai was also curious about it and inspected the item.
They just looked closer to a carbine, but it was heavier and bulkier, and it was probably meant to be carried with one hand by the Sentinels.
Still, Kai realized that the ammunition wasn’t similar to the laser or plasma that was being used by the C-Grade Sentinel before.
Wallace nodded. "I guess using those plasma rifles wasn’t that ideal, huh..." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"They probably have an issue with the production materials. The plasma rifles were definitely expensive to make," Ralph added.
"But I don’t think this weapon is worse than the plasma rifle that requires constant change of energy cells." Victor commented.
Kai just smiled at their speculations and studied the Sentinel again.
"Is this also a mass-produced Mechanical Soldier?" He muttered.
He couldn’t help but frown at that idea. After all, he could imagine that this type of Sentinel would be a terrifying opponent.
The survivors exchanged uneasy glances.
"I hope not..." Terrence replied.
The dormant machine was not moving in its position within the capsule, but they couldn’t help but see that once those wires were released, it would suddenly activate and attack them.
As a matter of fact, even without power, it was clear that the A-Grade Sentinel was something far more dangerous than anything they had faced before.
***
The others slowly left the workshop one by one after checking the bladed weapons and guns on the crates...
They planned to check other areas.
Soon, their footsteps faded as they returned to the main hall. Victor was the last to glance back, still itching to dismantle the Sentinel, but Kai’s warning kept him silent.
Kai and Claire stayed behind. His eyes lingered on the capsule. The system notification earlier was still bothering him.
[ You have discovered a dormant Sentinel (A) ]
[ Status: Unactivated ]
Why had the system notified them about this? It hadn’t done so when they discovered the crates of weapons, the frozen E‑Grade Sentinels in the hall, or even the armored vehicles. This was different. Too different.
"I’ll open it..." Kai muttered under his breath.
Claire, who had been waiting for him to leave the room, stiffened. She turned toward him, her flashlight steady.
"Alright... I will save you if needed," she said with confidence. She had just recently obtained wealth that boosted her Fifth‑Sin Talent, and she wasn’t afraid to use it.
Kai smiled faintly. This was exactly why he had helped Claire obtain those items. She was reliable.
He stepped forward and pressed the button on the capsule.
With a hiss, the chamber unlocked. Cold air rushed out, spilling across the floor.
The glass lifted slowly, revealing the Sentinel inside.
Kai reached out and touched the smooth surface of its armor.
Immediately, the system flared to life.
[ Contact Established: Sentinel (A) ]
[ Accessing dormant protocols... ]
[ Advanced data detected... ]
[ Synchronization in progress... ]
This wasn’t a notification coming from the Sentinel. It was from the system itself, the Apocalypse System, that brought them here!
Kai’s eyes widened as more notifications appeared one after another.
Claire tightened her grip on her weapon as she noticed Kai stepping back. "Kai... what’s happening?"
Kai didn’t answer right away. His gaze was fixed on the Sentinel, as he felt worried that it would suddenly move and attack.
After confirming that it was not, he finally replied.
"I’m getting system notifications. Are you not?"
"No..." Claire replied as she shook her head.
Kai frowned as he realized that he knew nothing about the Apocalypse System and what it truly wanted after all.
The system had never reacted like this before. This wasn’t just a discovery, it was something deeper.
The Sentinel remained unmoving, but the flood of messages made it clear: touching it had triggered something hidden.
Kai’s hand lingered on the Sentinel’s armor. The system messages kept coming.
[ Admin... ]
[ Error... ]
[ Warning: Core systems inactive ]
[ Attempting override... ]
[ Success. Awakening sequence initiated. ]
"Wait..."
Kai stepped back quickly as he saw that Admin Error again! It was the same error message that forced him to select the A.I. Rebellion!
"Is it... activating?" Claire worriedly asked.
Soon, the Sentinel’s chest emitted a faint glow as the wires around it lit up.
Then, the sound of shifting mechanisms echoed in the room.
More notifications appeared in Kai’s vision.
[ Status: Awakening ]
[ Searching for command authority... ]
[ Link established: Administrator ]
[ Recognition complete. ]
[ New Controller Registered. ]
[ Awaiting designation... Please assign a name. ]
"What... Administrator? New Controller?" Kai paused as he saw the last system message telling him to give the Sentinel a name!
