Atom didn’t fire his gun this time and swiftly dodged instead.

Thud!

The mechanical claw caught nothing but air!

Since Atom was smaller, it would be easier to evade such a large claw, but it couldn’t just dodge repeatedly, or it would just waste its energy...

Atom had to counterattack too!

Crank... Crank...

Seeing that the small enemy was hard to catch, the Field Tyrant actually changed it strategy...

Its cannon hummed again, charging for another blast. Thankfully, this action takes some time, so Atom didn’t give it a chance.

BOOM!

The third shot ripped into the cannon’s housing.

Metal shrieked as the weapon’s casing split!

The mounted cannon seemed to have been badly damaged and couldn’t fire again! It was actually crippled!

Kai’s heart pounded as he saw this...

’Yes... Atom’s rifle is too strong. This is our chance...’ He thought for a moment.

Unfortunately, it was wishful thinking!

The moment that the cannon was damaged, the Field Tyrant released something from its lower torso!

It was a wire anchor and it seemed to have a claw at its tip, aiming to catch Atom... and it actually worked!

Atom failed to completely dodge and was grazed by the cable-launched claw hook...

Boom!

The ground where Atom was previously standing shattered from the impact!

But the Tyrant wasn’t finished. It reached down, clawing at the wreckage around it. With terrifying strength, it crushed another car into a cube and shoved it into its furnace. The glow inside flared violently... Its vents then started blasting out waves of heat.

The machine’s movements surged again and this time, it was faster and stronger. The damage Atom had inflicted was being countered by raw energy!

"Damn it... It’s feeding itself during battle!" Kai cursed before he turned his attention back to the remaining Sentinels. He had to quickly deal with the escorts so they could all help Atom against the Field Tyrant!

Kai could only trust that Atom could hold out much longer!

Just like that, Atom steadied its stance and lifted the rifle in its hand. There are three rounds left, and Atom must be careful about it.

The Field Tyrant finally advanced with its claw sweeping low across the ground.

Atom raised its shield to block, but the impact forced the mech backward...

Kai then swiftly gave his command. "Atom, target the joints! Take out its legs!"

Atom adjusted immediately.

BOOM!

The fourth block of metal slammed into the Tyrant’s knee.

The armor shattered, and fragments could be seen scattering as the joint gave way!

Finally, the massive machine limped as its one leg bent under its own weight.

Still, the Tyrant swung its claw again to catch Atom!

However, the A-Grade Sentinel just ducked low then fired the fifth shot.

BOOM!

The block smashed into the claw, tearing through its plating. The gears snapped, and the fingers twisted uselessly!

The Tyrant’s weaponized hand hung broken... One could even see sparks spilling from the damage!

There was one shot left from Atom’s rifle, and this last move must eliminate this Field Boss or at the very least, heavily injure it!

The Tyrant continued to attack with its furnace glowing like molten fire.

However, Atom fired.

BOOM!

This time, the final block of metal struck the furnace directly!

The impact ripped through the thin armor protecting the core of the furnace, and soon, they all heard some gears snapping from the inside of the Field Tyrant!

The Tyrant then froze for a moment as its systems struggled to contain the damage.

Then finally, the furnace erupted!

Flames burst from its vents, and in just a few moments, smoke started pouring out as the machine reeled backward...

At this point, Atom lowered its rifle and just watched as the Field Tyrant was destroyed from the inside!

While this was all happening, the Assault Teams were already finishing the Sentinel Escorts...

However, for the two remaining Spyder Rangers from afar, they were being handled by two Survivors with Gene Weapons, Althea and Sera!

The two of them had already rushed with their camouflage suits the moment Atom and the Field Tyrant faced each other...

It didn’t take that long before their eyes locked on the two remaining Spyders perched among the rubble.

The machines’ long-barreled rifles glowed faintly as they scanned for targets... They were obviously unaware of the hunters closing in.

Soon, Althea and Sera opened their hands, and short metallic blades manifested... They looked simple, but they were sharp and deadly, each about two feet long.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

At this time, the Spyders shot a suppressive fire to help the Sentinel Escorts while also being shot at by the Assault Team!

It was a perfect opportunity for both Atlhea and Sera!

However, as soon as they reached a specific range from the Spyder, which was about 50 meters, the mechanical units immediately turned in their direction!

Suddenly, the Spyders adjusted their optics...

But they were too slow!

Althea charged forward first. She threw a couple of hatchets to buy some, and soon, her Gene Weapon slashed through the rifle of the nearest Spyder. Before the machine could react, she drove the weapon straight into its core.

These Spyder Units had serious damage output, but it was weak in close combat for sure! It had a very thin armor... or perhaps, their Gene Weapon was simply too sharp! 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

It was only D-Grade but it gave a lot of experience!

Anyway, Althea had no time to celebrate as she was worried about Sera...

However, she was worrying for nothing!

Sera followed without hesitation.

She dashed forward and struck her blade, cutting deep into the second Spyder’s chest. The machine convulsed as its circuit board seemed to have been damaged, but Sera pressed in and finished it with a decisive slash that severed its systems.

Thud!

Just like that, the second Spyder fell...

It gave fewer experience points this time, and they could only guess that it was shared by several more members from the Assault Team!

Nonetheless, what was most important here was the fact that after the Spyders were eliminated, the Escorts Sentinels had lost their overwatch support. Their coordination weakened, leaving them exposed to Claire’s strikes and Ralph’s suppressive fire.

Still, the most exciting message from the system was the confirmation of the Field Tyrant’s destruction!
