GLOBAL AWAKENING: My 10,000x Exp Multiplier-Chapter 17: []The Slime Jelly Crash, Multiplying Potential
The quiet elegance of the Golden Scale Auction House was about to experience a localized economic disaster.
Lunara maintained her composed professional smile, though her blue eyes conveyed a deep sense of impatience. She tapped a manicured fingernail against the mahogany desk.
"Sir, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I must reiterate. We do not deal in low level trash. If you are going to waste my time, I will have the guards escort you out."
Sia instantly stepped forward. Her hand dropped to the hilt of a secondary blade at her waist, and her silver eyes narrowed at the implied threat. Vahn simply raised a hand to stop her in her tracks.
"I assure you, Lunara, this is not trash," Vahn said. His tone was infuriatingly cheerful. "It is a highly sought after alchemical reagent. I just happen to have a slight surplus."
Vahn swiped his finger across the holographic interface floating in front of him.[System Command: Mass Inventory Ejection]
↳ Item Selected: Slime Jelly (Common)
↳ Quantity: 10,000
The air above the marble floor warped and distorted as the game physical rendering engine struggled to process the sudden influx of matter.
With a sound like a torrential waterfall, a massive mountain of glowing blue slime jellies cascaded into the lobby! The pile grew rapidly and spilled over the velvet chairs. It buried the decorative potted plants and spread across the pristine carpets until it was nearly ten feet high. The sweet smell of basic alchemy materials filled the room.
The entire auction house ground to a halt. The wealthy guild leaders stopped sipping their wine. Their jaws dropped as they stared in absolute disbelief at the mountain of blue goop that had just claimed half the lobby!
Lunara’s perfectly composed expression shattered entirely. Her jaw dropped, and she took a stumbling step back. Her eyes widened as the leading edge of the slime pile nudged against her expensive shoes.
"What... what is this?!" she gasped. She lost every ounce of her refined customer service persona.
"Ten thousand units of Slime Jelly," Vahn answered smoothly as he leaned against the counter. "It is the primary binding agent for health potions, stamina elixirs, and basic weapon enchantments. Every major guild on this floor requires it to sustain their daily raids. Usually, it is farmed in batches of ten or twenty by beginner players. I have cornered the market."
Hana burst into a fit of giggles. She hid her face behind her hands as she watched the horrified expressions of the elite players around them. Aria simply buried her face in her hands and let out a long exasperated sigh.
"You did not just corner the market, Vahn," Aria muttered through her fingers. "You just crashed the entire local economy. Where did you even get all of this?!"
"I am highly efficient," Vahn replied without looking at her. He turned back to the stunned auctioneer. "Lunara. The current market value for a single Slime Jelly is roughly fifteen credits. Given the sheer volume, I am willing to offer you a bulk discount. Ten credits a piece. That is one hundred thousand credits total. You can slowly release them into the market and easily double your investment over the next month."
Lunara stared at the mountain of jelly. Her merchant instincts warred with the sheer absurdity of the situation. He was right. Controlling this much of a fundamental crafting resource would give her auction house absolute leverage over the local alchemy guilds.
"You... you farmed ten thousand slimes?" Lunara asked.
Her voice trembled slightly as she looked at Vahn. He did not look like a madman who had spent a year grinding in the mud. He looked completely relaxed, even a little bored.
"Do we have a deal?" Vahn pressed, his purple eyes locking onto hers.
Lunara swallowed hard. She regained a fraction of her composure and tapped rapidly on her terminal.
"Deal. One hundred thousand credits. But I am keeping a twenty percent handling fee for the absolute mess you have just made of my lobby."
"Acceptable," Vahn smiled.
The mountain of slime vanished in a flash of digital light. It was securely transferred into the auction house infinite storage matrix. In its place, a golden notification chimed in Vahn’s vision.[Transaction Complete]
↳ 80,000 Credits added to balance.
"Now for the second part of our transaction," Vahn said without missing a beat. "I want to buy raw experience potions. The lowest tier you have. The cheap ones that grant a flat 100 EXP. I want all of them."
Lunara frowned, clearly confused.
"Basic EXP potions are highly inefficient for a player of your apparent capabilities. They are meant for beginners trying to skip the first two levels. We have a surplus in the back warehouse that has not sold in months. They cost fifty credits each."
"Perfect. I will take sixteen hundred of them," Vahn said. He transferred the entirety of his newly acquired wealth right back to her.
Fifteen minutes later, Vahn and his team were sitting in a private suite at a high end inn just down the street from the Bazaar. The room was luxurious and featured a balcony that overlooked the massive magical city.
Hana was sprawled out on the massive feather bed, happily flipping through the virtual television channels. Sia was sitting cross legged on the floor by the door. She diligently polished the dents out of her tower shield with a heavy cloth. Aria was pacing the length of the room. Her arms were crossed, and she shot anxious glances at Vahn.
Vahn sat at the heavy oak table in the center of the room. Stacked neatly in front of him were crates containing one thousand and six hundred basic EXP potions. The small glass vials glowed with a faint weak golden light.
"This makes absolutely no sense," Aria finally said.
She stopped in front of his table and leaned over. Her face was inches from his, completely ignoring the fact that her sudden closeness made Vahn acutely aware of the cherry blossom scent trailing her.
"You spent eighty thousand credits on garbage. If you drank every single one of these, you would only get one hundred and sixty thousand EXP. That is barely enough to push you to Level 15. You could have bought Gold Tier armor for Sia, or a new staff for me!"
Vahn looked up at her. He did not blink. He simply reached out and picked up a single vial. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Aria," Vahn said softly. His voice carried that strange absolute certainty that always made her heart flutter defensively. "You view the world through the rules the system gave you. I view the world through the rules I write."
He popped the cork off the vial and downed the glowing golden liquid in a single gulp.[Item Consumed: Basic EXP Potion]
↳ Base EXP Gained: 100
The familiar standard notification appeared in his peripheral vision. But before the system could finalize the calculation, Vahn engaged his hidden authority. The blue circuits flared violently in his eyes![Class Modifier Activated: 10,000x Experience Converter]
↳ Total EXP Gained: 1,000,000
A violent suffocating shockwave of pure condensed energy erupted from Vahn’s body! The heavy oak table splintered down the middle. The glass windows of the balcony rattled in their frames!
Aria gasped and took a massive step back. Her hands flew up to shield her face from the sheer physical pressure of his aura. Sia dropped her polishing cloth and instantly scrambled to her feet. She raised her shield, her military instincts screaming that a boss level threat had just spawned in the room!
"What was that?!" Sia shouted, her silver eyes wide with shock.
Vahn exhaled, and a visible stream of golden mist escaped his lips. He looked at his interface. A single trash tier potion had just netted him a million experience points. He had one thousand, five hundred and ninety nine vials left.
He looked at Aria, and a dangerous genuinely thrilled smile broke across his face.
"It is called compound interest," Vahn said. He picked up the next vial. "Now, stand back. I have a lot of drinking to do."
