GLOBAL AWAKENING: My 10,000x Exp Multiplier-Chapter 38: []The Alpha’s Multiplier, Level Lock
Pierce Valerius wasn’t a man accustomed to being corrected by anyone. He was the golden child of the Sovereign Elite. He was bred for absolute dominance.
Seeing a slum-dwelling commoner casually delete a Demon Duke’s curse didn’t inspire fear in him. Instead, it inspired an absolute and irrational rage.
"You think a parlor trick makes you a threat?" Pierce snarled loudly.
The muscles in his neck bulged against the collar of his Platinum-Tier armor. He reached behind his back and gripped the hilt of a massive two-handed broadsword.
The weapon was an incredibly expensive item funded by corporations called the Star-Shatter Greatsword. The moment he drew it, the blade ignited in a roaring torrent of white-hot plasma.
"I am the Alpha of this server!" Pierce roared.
His voice physically vibrated the stone pillars around them.
"I possess the ultimate sequence! Watch, peasant, and despair at the gap between our realities!"
Pierce tapped his chest plate and activated his hidden class parameters.
—[System Override: The Favored One] —
↳ Passive Multiplier Activated: 1,000x Progression
A towering pillar of golden light erupted from the cathedral floor. It entirely consumed Pierce. The ambient corrupted data of the Ghost City was violently purified and sucked right into his avatar.
Above his head, his status interface forcibly rendered into the physical space. It glowed brightly for Vahn to see.
↳ Level: 35
↳ Level: 36
↳ Level: 38
↳ Level: 42
In the span of just three seconds, Pierce passively absorbed enough environmental energy to jump seven levels!
His aura expanded rapidly. It cracked the runic tiles beneath his boots and sent a wave of oppressive suffocating heat across the plaza. He wasn’t just wearing expensive gear anymore. His base stats were heavily boosted by his class cheat.
"I generate a thousand times the normal output from every breath I take!" Pierce laughed maniacally.
He stepped out of the golden pillar. He swung the massive greatsword with a single hand. The sheer kinetic force of the casual movement tore a deep trench into the cathedral floor.
"My health regenerates faster than you can calculate! I am a walking god!"
Vahn stood perfectly still. His deep purple eyes scanned the cascading data streams radiating from Pierce. The Verdant Chronos-Sight broke down the enemy’s code easily.
Pierce wasn’t lying at all. His health regeneration was ticking at a terrifying rate. Any physical damage dealt to him would be passively healed in fractions of a second. He was a brute-force tank with infinite sustain.
"A thousand times multiplier," Vahn noted. His tone was entirely conversational.
He casually flicked the Soul-Bound Shadow Blade in his hand to get a feel for the balance.
"That is an impressive numerical advantage. But it breeds terrible habits. You rely on the system to fight your battles for you."
"Die!" Pierce screamed. He launched himself forward.
He didn’t run. He practically exploded across the room.
The sheer physical Strength stat backing his movement allowed him to cross the thirty-meter gap in the blink of an eye. He brought the blazing greatsword down in a devastating two-handed overhead cleave. He aimed to physically split Vahn in half.
Vahn didn’t block the attack. Blocking a strike backed by Level 42 Strength would definitely shatter his arms.
’Phase Step,’ Vahn murmured.
He stepped diagonally. His boot locked onto an invisible geometric collision box floating three feet off the ground. He entirely bypassed the physical plane of the floor.
Pierce’s greatsword crashed into the stone exactly where Vahn had been standing. It detonated in a massive explosion of white plasma that sent shrapnel flying like real bullets.
Before the smoke could even clear, Vahn pivoted off the invisible step. He launched himself directly at Pierce’s exposed flank.
His movements were completely devoid of wasted energy. There were no battle cries and no flashy wind-ups. It was just pure efficiency.
Vahn drove the Shadow Blade toward the tiny unarmored gap beneath Pierce’s armpit.
The legendary dagger sheared through the underlying chainmail with zero resistance. It bit deep into Pierce’s flesh. The hungry violet energy aggressively tore at his digital veins.
Pierce grunted loudly. He stepped back and swung his heavy gauntlet in a sweeping backhand.
Vahn easily ducked under the clumsy strike and landed gracefully a few meters away.
He looked at Pierce’s health bar. The critical strike had deleted exactly five percent of the Alpha’s massive HP pool.
But instantly, the golden aura of the Favored One flared up again.
The deep wound closed itself. The torn chainmail automatically knitted back together. In less than two seconds, Pierce’s health bar was completely full again.
"Did you really think a little prick would stop me?" Pierce sneered and rolled his shoulder. "My cellular regeneration is multiplied by a thousand! You could stab me all day, and I wouldn’t even bleed!"
Vahn’s expression didn’t change at all. He simply rubbed his temples and analyzed the math. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
His base damage output with the Shadow Blade was incredibly high. But it wasn’t enough to out-pace the exponential healing factor.
If he used Inferno Nova, he could vaporize Pierce instantly. But detonating an SSS-Rank star spell inside the Ghost City would trigger a catastrophic spatial collapse. It would likely delete the Chronos Hourglass he really needed to secure his team’s safe zone.
Brute force was inefficient here. He needed to alter the rules of the engagement.
"You are very proud of your system privileges, Valerius," Vahn stated softly. The faint dangerous smile returned to his face. "But you fundamentally misunderstand the hierarchy of this engine. You are merely favored."
Vahn raised his left hand and swiped two fingers across the empty air.
The massive blue holographic interface of the EXP Converter materialized in front of him.
He had tens of millions of experience points hoarded in his reservoir. It was capital he had harvested from the Drake and the Golem. Now it was time to spend it.
"I am the Architect," Vahn said.
His voice dropped into a cold absolute resonance that made the golden light of the cathedral flicker and dim instantly.
’System,’ Vahn commanded mentally. His azure eyes locked onto Pierce’s glowing status board. ’Target: Enemy Progression Matrix. Class Designation: Favored One. Initiate systemic override. Force a hard-lock on all multiplier variables.’
— [Warning] —
↳ Overriding a Mythic-tier class mechanic requires extreme capital. Calculating cost...
↳ Cost: 50,000,000 EXP. Duration: 60 Seconds. Proceed?
Vahn didn’t hesitate. He dumped the data without a second thought.
"Execute."
The entire cathedral shuddered violently. A massive deafening sound echoed through the abyssal realm. It sounded like a heavy steel vault door slamming shut.
A pulse of brilliant deep azure light shot from Vahn’s interface. It instantly crossed the gap and slammed heavily into Pierce’s chest.
Pierce gasped and stumbled backward. The radiant blinding golden aura surrounding his armor flickered. It sparked violently and then died completely.
The ambient data of the Ghost City stopped flowing into him. His health regeneration instantly plummeted from a rushing river to a stagnant puddle.
"What... what did you do?" Pierce stammered out.
He stared at his hands in absolute horror. He quickly tried to pull up his status board. The entire interface was grayed out and wrapped in heavy digital chains.
— [System Error] —
↳ Progression Locked by Administrator Override.
"I turned off your cheat codes," Vahn said simply. He casually spun the Shadow Blade in his hand. "Your multiplier is dead. Your regeneration is baseline. You have exactly sixty seconds of pure mortality."
Pierce looked up. Genuine terror finally broke right through his arrogant facade.
He was a man who had never fought a fair fight in his entire life. He had always relied on the absolute superiority of his numbers. But now, he was standing in front of a ghost holding a weapon that devoured souls.
"Sixty seconds," Vahn smiled. His eyes burned with terrifying clarity. "Let us see how much of a god you are when you actually have to bleed."
