Chapter 131: Chapter 124: Ancient Bloodline, The Sub-dragon’s Sorrow

The Pure-blooded Dragon Clan is divided into five ranks.

From Weak Dragon Level to Mythical Level, each rank presents a nearly insurmountable barrier to the next.

This ranking system is reflected not only in their Power but also in their Body Type.

After Lince successfully purified his Bloodline to obtain that of a complete Divine Tier Space Dragon, his current growth was reverting to the physique a Mythical Level Giant Dragon was always meant to possess.

A Mythical Level Giant Dragon should already have an extra-large Body Type in its fledgling stage. As it grows, it can directly break through to a giant Body Type, and upon reaching adulthood, it is meant to achieve a gargantuan Body Type.

Therefore, as a High Tier with a complete Divine Tier Bloodline, every time Lince claimed his Growth Level, both his Body Type and his Power would skyrocket.

A Mythical Level Giant Dragon is far beyond what any lifeform from the Mortal World can compare to.

The distinction between lower- and Upper-Rank species among the various Races isn’t determined by mere claims.

(For reference: The Human Race and Beastmen are Lower-Rank Species; Demon Beasts, the Sea Race, and Elves are Mid- to Upper-Rank Species; and the Dragon Race is an Upper-Rank Species.)

To use a simple analogy, in a world without Extraordinary Power, humans would be to ants what an Upper-Rank Species, or even an Innate Deity, is to a mortal.

Without the aid of Extraordinary Power or technology, how hard is it for a normal human to crush an ant?

It’s ridiculously simple, of course.

In the same way, for a Tierless young dragon to kill other Tierless members of the Human Race or other Races is as simple as a human crushing an ant or killing a common animal.

This is the basis for judging the so-called hierarchy of Races.

The Dragon Race’s level of life is very high. Compared to other Races, they are undoubtedly the absolute apex of the food chain.

The gods of the Dragon Race, naturally, are even more incredible.

As an Ancient Upper-Rank Species, many of the Dragon Race’s Deities naturally possessed and controlled the most powerful Rule and Law Powers in the world of the Oakland Continent from the moment of their birth.

This is what gave the Dragon Race the Power to dominate the entire world.

Now that Lince had inherited the Bloodline of a Divine Tier Dragon, he couldn’t become a so-called Deity in a single step. However, as his strength continued to grow, he would undoubtedly reach the rightful station of a Dragon God, provided he didn’t perish along the way.

Therefore, regardless of whether Lince was a Player, his advancement would be completely free of the Tier bottlenecks and life-or-death tribulations that lesser beings face.

For Lince, his subsequent growth and promotions were both a "mundane" leap in life and a natural process of returning to the station of a Dragon God.

And now, having entered the High Tiers and claimed another 25% Growth Level, Lince’s progression through Tier Seven was already beginning his transformation toward the station of a ’god’.

This so-called divine transformation meant the colossal expansion of his physical, flesh-and-blood form, as well as the complete Elementalization of his entire body!

He didn’t need a system prompt to know this.

As he grew from now on, his Spiritual consciousness would inexplicably begin to receive vast amounts of legacy information.

Furthermore, each advancement to Tier Eight and Tier Nine would be a process of profound sublimation for Lince.

And once he stepped into the Saint Tier, Lince would possess some of the powerful Rule Powers that Innate Deities were meant to wield.

Therefore, Lince’s current size of nearly three hundred meters was only the beginning.

Just imagine: as a god among Giant Dragons, if one’s Body Type wasn’t immense enough and their Power wasn’t terrifying enough, how could they possibly move an entire Dragon Island—one as vast as the Oakland Continent—without a sound?

Lince now had a very clear understanding of his future growth.

The only thing that could hinder his growth now were external threats.

But now that he had entered Tier Seven, almost nothing short of a Saint Tier being could stop him.

As for the current state of the Saint Tiers, Lince wasn’t entirely sure, but he was certain they couldn’t act as they pleased.

Otherwise, Saint Tier beings would have been running rampant all over the world long ago.

And as a Player, Lince actually had another advantage.

This was an advantage that all Players possessed.

Namely, their ability to absorb Magic Crystals was extremely fast.

With a single thought, the Magic Power within a Magic Crystal would be quantified, as if it were a stat, and instantly absorbed by their character, becoming a powerful reserve for sustained combat.

It’s not widely known that for beings like Earth Dragon Amos and Red Dragon Crimson, recovering their strength with High Tier Magic Crystals requires a relatively slow, gradual process.

This process is akin to how humans need to digest food to slowly regain their energy.

But Players don’t need this process at all!

They can replenish their Magic Power and stamina instantly.

Therefore, with his vast supply of Magic Crystals, Lince’s Power was effectively multiplied many times over.

Lince didn’t know exactly how strong a Saint Tier being was.

But Lince felt that even if he were to clash with a Saint Tier now, he should have a decent chance, as long as he wasn’t killed in the first strike.

At the very least, if Lince wanted to flee, there was likely no being in this world who could stop him.

Instantly killing the two Tier Nine Magical Beasts had given Lince a direct, visceral understanding of just how terrifying his Space Power was.

Now, looking out at the entire Beast Tide...

Lince felt a surge of relief.

He was fortunate that he had come to check on Amos immediately after learning of his situation.

Otherwise, the Earth Dragon and the Red Dragon would have been in a terrible predicament!

If those two had died here, the future construction of Dawn City and their progress in the Karte World would have been severely impacted.

Having executed the Tier Nine Vulture, Lince gazed at the giant heart and High Tier Demon Core, now confined within a cube of Space Power.

An instant later, he seized them in his Dragon Claw.

’A High Tier heart and Demon Core...’

’This is good stuff.’

’Putting aside giving them to York, even feeding them to Demon Beasts with a matching Attribute would be a major boon.’

’It was a pity he couldn’t infuse a Demon Beast’s Bloodline into his own body like members of the Human Race could.’

’After all, the humans’ Blood Exchange ritual was only effective on humans.’

’The Dragon Race and Demon Beasts had no such method of acquiring Bloodline Power.’

’Besides, Demon Beasts didn’t need it. They would naturally advance toward an Upper-Rank Bloodline as they reached different stages.’

’Compared to the Human Race, the advancement of a Demon Beast was much simpler. Though their growth was slow and Breaking Tier had its risks, it was still far better than the human path.’

’It’s no wonder the Human Race is considered a Lower-Rank Race.’

’Still, one had to admit, the fact that the naturally weak Human Race was able to seize the most fertile regions of the Oakland Continent was a different kind of strength in itself.’

’With great wisdom, perseverance, and courage, the ancient ancestors of the Human Race had defied the Celestial Spirits and ultimately produced a host of Deities. All of this hinted at the immense Potential the Human Race could unleash in desperate situations.’

’It was just a shame about that glory...’

’Now that the human Deities no longer descended upon the world, the recent actions of the Human Countries on the Oakland Continent were rather baffling to him.’

’Being targeted by a joint alliance of the Elves, Beastmen, and Demon Beasts... in a way, it could be called a massive diplomatic failure.’

’Perhaps it had to do with the fact that the Human Race currently occupied the continent’s most fertile central regions.’

’They had grown too arrogant.’

’In an age where the gods were absent, they didn’t even know how to forge strategic alliances?!’

’A complete failure, really.’

’But what did any of that have to do with him?’

’It was all just an opportunity.’

When the Black Dragon reappeared, he was already in front of the Earth Dragon.

At that moment, the Red Dragon Crimson, looking to be in poor shape, landed beside the Earth Dragon.

Amos looked to be in a very sorry state as well.

Two rows of deep bite marks were visible on the top of his head and below his neck, blood constantly seeping from the pitiful wounds.

Fortunately, however, thanks to his powerful regenerative abilities, the wounds were already healing at a rate visible to the naked eye.

"You’re Nigredo?"

Crimson looked at the Black Dragon, her expression complex.

"If it wasn’t me, were you expecting another dragon to come save you?"

Lince faced Crimson with a wry smile.

Crimson, and Amos for that matter, had harbored their own suspicions ever since they learned about the Earth Bear’s situation.

But now, facing Lince, she couldn’t help but let out a small sigh.

"Well, I’ll be. You’re far more than just some child of Divine Favor!"

"You really had us fooled."

As Crimson spoke, the Earth Dragon at her side interrupted her.

"That’s enough, Crimson. Do not be so rude to His Highness."

"His Highness’s circumstances are indeed special. It was best that his situation remained unknown to the outside world, no matter what."

"The current situation merely serves as further proof of our suspicions."

An expression of sorrow crept onto Amos’s face.

He looked at Lince, completely ignoring the pain from his injuries, and asked with a mournful expression,

"Your Highness, things having come to this, could you tell us... do you possess the complete Bloodline of a certain... exalted being?"

"We only want to know the answer to that question. Nothing else matters anymore."

Seeing Amos in such a state, Lince knew there was no longer any point in hiding the truth.

He nodded solemnly.

"That is correct. I had no choice but to conceal it from you both before."

Hearing Lince’s confirmation, both Crimson and Amos revealed pained expressions and fell silent.

Lince still didn’t understand what possessing the complete Bloodline of a Space Dragon truly meant.

But Crimson and the Earth Dragon knew all too well.

The Divine Tier Bloodlines of the Dragon Race are unique!

For this to have happened meant that the previous noble and great being had truly perished. There was no other possibility.

’Then what was the current state of the entire Dragon Race?’

The two of them already knew from the Earth Bear that Lince had indeed performed a Miracle.

From this, they could make a reasonable deduction.

’One, or perhaps even a few, of the Dragon Gods had fallen unexpectedly, but other Dragon Gods and the rest of the Dragon Race must still exist.’

’Otherwise, there would be no explanation for how Lince obtained the Bloodline, let alone the guidance of a Miracle.’

With this deduction, although Amos and Crimson were still extremely sorrowful and worried about the Dragon Race’s fate, they did their best to calm their emotions.

After all, they had been speculating about and preparing for this possibility for a long time, so the current situation was still within the realm of what they could accept.

At the same time, the two of them now shared a single thought.

They had to hide Lince’s existence as much as possible.

They also had to protect this successor, Lince, and ensure he ascended to the rightful position of a Dragon God as quickly and smoothly as possible—even if it cost them their lives.

With this in mind, they knew it was time to eliminate all the spies of a certain Saint Tier Magical Beast.

Since all pretenses were now dropped, the two of them no longer had any reason to show deference to the Saint Tier Magical Beast, the Aurora Bird.

Therefore, the moment they calmed themselves, the two exchanged a look and immediately turned to face the High Tier Magical Beasts who had previously backstabbed them.

Being stared down by the two Sub-dragons.

At that moment, the High Tier Magical Beasts felt their souls about to flee their bodies in terror.
