Global Game: I Have Portable Store-Chapter 407 - 401: Hunt
Su Changxing thought this was a bad idea and immediately asked, "Are there any other methods, or perhaps a quicker and simpler way?"
The leader hesitated for a moment and said, "There is another bridge over there, but it’s a bit far, and lower, which might be more dangerous."
It seemed like they really had no other options.
But that was normal, with limited resources and personnel, nothing could be done.
Su Changxing paused, changed the topic, and asked, "Did you just encounter Screamers?"
The person nodded and said, "Yes, it seems like there might be more than one. It’s very dangerous around here. We should move to another location."
"Hmm."
Su Changxing’s face showed a hint of excitement, and he said, "Take me to see them now. The others can stay here, Monk can come along."
The person looked at Su Changxing’s excited expression, was stunned, and tentatively asked, "We’re going to find them now?"
Su Changxing confirmed, "Of course, they are trouble and should be dealt with first. Waiting for them to find us is obviously not wise."
Before he could react, Su Changxing had already taken him out the door again.
Time is very tight now.
If the materials needed for promotion can be gathered now, it will be the best, allowing him to proceed with the next promotion through the discount shop.
The outside pressure made him urgent to enhance his strength.
"You can take that thing off, so you can run faster," Su Changxing said, looking at the exaggerated bulletproof vest the person was wearing.
He shook his head with a resolute expression, saying, "No need, my power is quite strong, I can bear it."
Su Changxing asked, "What’s your name?"
He immediately answered, "Lin Yi, originally a member of Vulture’s team, you can call me Black Hawk."
"Vulture?"
"It’s the name of the Special Forces, Black Hawk is my code name." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Su Changxing nodded, "Hmm, Black Hawk, you just lead the way later. Don’t get close. If anything unexpected happens, just run."
Black Hawk hesitated, "This······"
He had received several orders from Shen Liang, not only on the surface.
Monk interjected, "This patron, you’d better be careful yourself. If you die, we should be fine."
Monk wasn’t good at much else, but he was first-class at running away, which was true.
Under Black Hawk’s lead, they walked up the slope alongside the bridge highway, quickly hearing the intermittent screams.
Su Changxing’s mouth curled up with a smile and said, "Ha, there’s quite a number, Black Hawk, wait here for us, we’ll be back, stay safe yourself."
Black Hawk nodded, indicating his understanding, squatting skillfully by the stone platform, hiding his figure.
Screamers are monsters born from absorbing the nutrients of Giant Hands, which is why they can serve as promotion materials.
With Su Changxing and the Screamers, the roles were completely reversed.
Now he was the hunter, and they were the prey.
He thought about the time he was chased and attacked by Screamers, and it felt satisfying.
On the road, a Screamer jumped down from a building, dragging a bloodied corpse into its mouth, chewing slowly and deliberately, as if savoring it.
From a distance, Su Changxing saw it, took out the Shadow Bow, and set a black arrow, with a faint edge visible on it.
The arrow drew a sharp arc through the shadows, shooting straight at the Screamer.
It seemed to have sensed something and looked around.
"Swish~"
Next, it fell to the side, an arrow piercing through its back, pinning it to the road.
Su Changxing and Monk approached, seeing another Screamer peeking over, seemingly curious as to why its companion suddenly went silent.
They had some sort of connection with each other.
Another arrow was shot.
This Screamer was also shot by Su Changxing without any defense, falling against the wall without even having time to struggle.
These Screamers didn’t seem very smart, completely unaware of the anomaly.
Immediately after.
Another Screamer slowly walked over from another direction, quickened its pace after seeing its companion unmoving.
An arrow flew by, causing it to fall as well.
Not until the sixth one died did the Screamers realize something was wrong, quickly running in the opposite direction of Su Changxing as if they had encountered some kind of terrifying beast.
Su Changxing raised his eyelids and said, "You collect the Crystal Cores, I’ll go kill a few more."
He then hurriedly chased after them.
Black Hawk watched from afar, stunned. It was his first time seeing someone chasing after Screamers.
He pondered for a moment, murmuring to himself, "No way, why are these Screamers so afraid of him, it’s like seeing a natural enemy. It doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t make sense······"
Su Changxing held a Scythe in one hand and a revolver in the other, faint glow floating on his body, he opened his stride, little by little catching up to the Screamers, shouting:
"Let me kill two more, just two more, and I won’t bother you anymore."
It’s uncertain if these Screamers could understand, but after Su Changxing shouted, they clamped their buttocks tightly and accelerated again, as if unleashing some latent power.
The surrounding zombies also burst into action, but they could only do that, unable to affect Su Changxing or the Screamers.
Finally, Su Changxing caught up with a relatively slower one, slashed at its heart, the blade cutting through its body.
The Screamer crashed to the ground, body severed into two, blood gushing out, forming a small fountain on the ground.
Su Changxing fired a shot at another, but being a bit far, the bullet grazed the Screamer’s shoulder and hit a utility pole ahead.
The utility pole fell with a crash, blocking the Screamer’s path, abruptly slowing it down.
Su Changxing appeared behind it and slashed again.
"Dead anyway, don’t know why they bother running, waste of energy."
He smirked, crudely extracting the Crystal Core and placing it in his backpack, before turning around.
Monk had just finished collecting the Crystal Cores, holding them in his hand, and asked Su Changxing, who was returning, "They run pretty fast, did you catch up?"
Su Changxing took the Crystal Cores and said:
"Killed two, the rest got away, but they probably won’t come back. In a way, they also bully the weak and fear the strong, never engaging me directly."
Monk mumbled behind him, "If I were them, I’d run too with you being so fierce."
Su Changxing’s face twitched, retorting in disgruntlement, "Can you describe it as brave?"
Monk replied earnestly, "But, it really is fierce."
When they returned, Black Hawk was still squatting in the same position, looking dazed, still immersed in the scene from earlier.
