Global Islands: I'm The Sea God's Heir!-Chapter 138: Architect of Atrophy (2)
The Nexus of Nullity, sensing a corruption in its own data, began to "Reject" the Architect of Atrophy. The siphons that were feeding the entity suddenly reversed, pulling the energy away from the Architect and back into the cathedral. The shadow-giant began to shrink, its Tier 23 authority crumbling into Tier 22, then Tier 21.
"Impossible!" the Architect shrieked.
"The Silence does not reject its own! It does when the Truth is louder," Aegis said, his hands glowing with a lethal, violet clarity.
Aegis drove his Trident into the center of the shrinking shadow. He didn’t just kill the entity; he Devoured the "Atrophy Law."

The death of the Architect caused a massive destabilization in the Nexus of Nullity. The remaining siphons began to flicker, and the four other universes started to pull their essence back.
"We have to get inside," Bella said, the Void-Drifter pulling up alongside Aegis. "The other Architects are preparing a ’Total Collapse’ to reset the Nexus. If they succeed, they will take us and the five universes with them into the True Void."
Aegis stepped back onto the ship, his skin now humming with the stolen power of Atrophy. "Bella, take the ship into the primary siphon. Use the ’Mercy-Shield’ to create a tunnel through the crystal. Caelum and I are going for the Heart."
The Void-Drifter dived into the jagged crystalline structure that led to the central cathedral. Inside, the architecture was a nightmare of non-Euclidean geometry. Walls moved like liquid, and the floors were made of the frozen memories of dead civilizations.
They reached the "Chamber of Finality," where the four remaining Architects of Silence were gathered. They were massive, crystalline brains that floated in a pool of pure, liquid Cosmic Force. They did not speak; they projected a collective thought of "Erasure."
"You have breached the Inner Sanctum," the collective thought resonated. "You have tasted the Atrophy. But you are within the Heart of the Silence now. Here, even your ’Truth’ is a lie."
The pool of Cosmic Force began to rise, forming into a giant, liquid executioner. It was a Tier 24 manifestation, a being made of the combined life-force of five universes.
"Papa, I can’t define this much energy," Caelum whispered, his nose beginning to bleed from the mental strain. "It’s too much. It’s like trying to rewrite the ocean with a single pen."
Aegis looked at the liquid executioner, then at his wife and son. He felt the hunger in his stomach, but for the first time, it wasn’t just his own hunger. He felt the hunger of the twelve thousand galaxies in his Reach. He felt the hunger of the five dying universes outside.
"Then we don’t rewrite it, Caelum," Aegis said, his eyes turning into absolute voids. "We just open the drain."
Aegis stepped into the pool of liquid Cosmic Force. He didn’t fight the drowning sensation; he embraced it. He activated the Void-Maw at a level that threatened to shatter his own existence.
"You wanted to harvest us?" Aegis shouted at the crystalline brains. "Then come and see the true meaning of ’Devour’! I am the mouth of the universe, and I am still hungry!"
The pool began to swirl. The liquid Cosmic Force was not being siphoned by the Architects anymore; it was being pulled into Aegis’s core. He was becoming a "Universal Lifeform," a being of Tier 22 power that was literally absorbing the energy of five realities to keep them from being erased.
"Arlan, stop!" Bella cried out, seeing his body begin to crack and glow with a lethal, golden light. "You can’t hold it all! You’ll explode!"
"I don’t have to hold it," Aegis gasped, his skin splitting to reveal the raw, violet energy beneath. "I just have to... pass it... back!"
Aegis grabbed Caelum’s hand and Bella’s hand. He used himself as a "Causal Bridge." The energy he was devouring from the pool didn’t stay in him; it flowed through him, into Caelum’s "Truth" and Bella’s "Mercy," and then blasted out of the cathedral and back into the five siphons.
The golden light returned to the orbs. The grey ashen universes turned back into vibrant, living realities. The siphons shattered into dust.
The crystalline brains of the Architects began to crack and explode as their source of power was violently yanked away. The Nexus of Nullity began to collapse.
"Let’s go!" Aegis roared, his voice sounding like the birth of a galaxy.
The Triad sprinted back to the Void-Drifter as the cathedral crumbled behind them. They punched through the collapsing geometry and back into the grey mists of the Great Chaos.
Behind them, the Nexus of Nullity vanished in a silent, white explosion. The five universes were free, their siphons gone, their essence restored.
The journey back to the Universal Boundary was a blur of exhaustion and triumph. When the Void-Drifter finally breached the walls of the Eternian Reach, they were met with a galaxy that was singing. Every citizen, every emperor, and every star felt the return of their Sovereign.
Aegis stepped off the ship and onto the marble floor of the Citadel. He was no longer the man he had been. He was a Tier 22 "Multiversal Being," his presence now so vast that he had to exist in several dimensions at once just to stay stable.
"The Architects are gone," Caelum said, leaning against his father. "But we’ve opened a door, Papa. The other universes... they know we’re here now."
"I know," Aegis said, looking up at the sky where five new, distant stars had appeared—the reflections of the universes they had saved. "They’re going to need a teacher. They’re going to need to know how to grow without stealing."
Bella took his hand, her own eyes glowing with the wisdom of the journey. "And the Chaos? It’s still out there."
"Let it be. We’ve shown the Outside that the ’Inside’ is more than just a meal. We are the masters of the hunger now."
