Global Islands: I'm The Sea God's Heir!-Chapter 63: Ch : Breaking The Snake Goddess’s Heiress
Bella and Medusa had been locked in a stalemate for a long time. Their powers were evenly matched.
Both of their lips were cracked and pale, blood dripping from the corners due to strain and exhaustion.
If it were not for Bella’s Life Tree, she would never have lasted this long.
Fighting while avoiding direct eye contact with the enemy was incredibly difficult.
But when Aegis arrived at the battlefield, standing several miles away, Bella’s eyes instinctively turned toward him.
Even though the distance was vast, to a God Physique holder, it meant nothing.
"Arlan!"
She saw Aegis’s face and froze for a split second.
Bella thought she was dreaming, yet it felt too real, as if he were just within arm’s reach.
But in that brief moment of distraction, Medusa struck.
Her face abruptly filled Bella’s vision, blocking everything else.
Bella’s gaze was forcibly drawn to Medusa’s third eye.
In an instant, something foreign invaded her body.
Despite her overwhelming spiritual power, she could not move. She could not resist. She could not even control her own fingers.
This was not possession.
It was a hex.
A curse that overwrote her will, brainwashing every part of her body and forcing absolute obedience to another’s command.
Medusa let out a victorious smirk, wiping the blood from her lips.
She raised her hand and slapped Bella’s flawless face with all her strength.
Paah!
The sound echoed sharply across the battlefield.
A clear red palm print bloomed on Bella’s pale cheek.
The ice goddess stood motionless, still staring at Aegis blankly.
Aegis, who remained detached from Bella’s affairs until now, suddenly felt his heart shaken.
His heart was pounding violently.
Why did it hurt as if he were the one being slapped?
"Kill yourself, Bella," Medusa whispered cruelly. "Why waste your breath in a world where no one cares for you?"
She tightened her grip around Bella’s mouth, forcing the words into her mind like poison, carefully choosing the most vicious and manipulative phrases to push her toward despair.
Medusa’s thoughts were simple: What could be more satisfying than watching your enemy destroy themselves?
She was already savoring the scene when something flickered in Bella’s eyes.
"No. I have Arlan. I cannot die yet," Bella rejected the command mechanically.
Medusa froze. Shock flashed across her face.
How was she still speaking?
How had her hex failed?
The shock quickly twisted into a dark, furious expression.
"Very well," Medusa hissed. "If you won’t die on your own, then I’ll kill you myself."
Her sharp nails elongated, turning into knife-like blades.
With deliberate slowness, they pierced into Bella’s ribcage as if cutting through butter.
Blood spilled on Bella’s white dress and ornaments.
It would not take long before Bella’s heart was torn apart.
However, at that exact moment—
Medusa’s hand stopped.
Not by her own will.
A powerful grip clamped around her wrist, so strong that veins bulged violently beneath her skin.
Medusa’s eyes snapped toward the source.
There he stood. Aegis.
Looking Cold and Imposing.
His build radiated terrifying pressure.
Medusa’s pupils shrank as if she recognized him instantly.
"You?" Medusa’s voice dripped with confusion and fury. "Aren’t you Aegis, the one who calls himself the Sea God? Why are you interfering between us?"
Aegis fell silent for a moment, his gaze fixed on Bella.
"Truthfully speaking, even I don’t know that myself," he admitted, indicating Bella with a ironical gesture. "In the past, she once broke me into pieces. And just recently, we were enemies. And yet, here I stand protecting her."
Besides, even though it was faint, he had heard Bella’s last whispered words.
He realized: perhaps he was still missing something vital.
And that realization made him act without hesitation. Childhood affections, after all, are not so easily forgotten.
The Medusa Heir looked at Aegis as if observing an incomprehensible madman. She could not grasp this young man’s bizarre emotional logic at all.
"You are a fool, Aegis. A foolish man in love. And I cannot stand people like that."
Having finished her condemnation, she tried to violently yank her hand free from his grasp, only for it to be instantly torn off at the elbow.
Spurt~
Blood, viscous and green, splattered the ground.
His grip had been an iron vise.
The Medusa Heir suppressed a gasp of pain and rapidly regenerated the severed hand as if it were a trivial inconvenience. Just as a smug look began to cross her features, she found herself suddenly choked.
Aegis had gripped her throat, lifting her clear into the air, her legs dangling helplessly.
Then, with his left hand, and without even looking at her face, he began a relentless, brutal barrage of punches to her stomach and face.
Bang. Bang. Bang.
"Ahhhh! Bluurgh~!"
Each punch was a sickening blow that twisted her abdomen, forcing all the air from her lungs. Her toes curled as agonizing pain spread rapidly through her internal organs.
"Ahhh, ahhh, ahh!"
Like a man devoid of all emotion, he continued the assault, showing no regard for her gender.
A deep-seated terror took root inside Medusa. The kind of primal fear that emerges only when one realizes all hope is extinguished.
He was powerful beyond common sense.
She was nothing more than a punching bag, leaking horrendous green blood from all seven orifices of her head.
And yet, Aegis did not utter a single word to explain why he was treating her with such savage cruelty.
Within seconds, the Medusa Heir’s body became a mangled, unrecognizable mess.
In her final moment of coherence, she desperately unleashed every fragment of divine energy she had left.
Buzz!
She compressed her form, transforming herself into a tiny green snake, effectively slipping free from his iron grip.
Meanwhile, the Hexed Earth Titans and the Naked Men had fully surrounded Aegis, forming a tight, menacing circle.
Buzz!
Aegis summoned the God-Killer Trident from his very soul. Its blade shimmered with a destructive mixture of golden and abyssal energy, unleashing an annihilating wave that crashed into the Earth Titans.
In just a single, devastating strike of the God-Killer Trident, the entire opposing force was utterly vanquished.
By then, the Medusa Heir, in her snake form, was already hundreds of miles away, fleeing at an impossible speed.
Aegis focused his formidable senses, achieving pinpoint accuracy on the tiny, distant target. Then, gripping the Trident like a javelin, he hurled it toward the fleeing snake.
Buzz. Buzz. Buzzzz!
The night sky and the very air were violently torn apart by the weapon’s impossible speed and velocity.
The Medusa Heir, encapsulated in the snake form, felt utter despair.
Death, at this velocity, seemed absolutely certain.
However, at that exact, critical moment, something else occurred in the atmosphere...
A barely perceptible wind barrier manifested, subtly shifting the trajectory of the Trident slightly.
Despite the intervention, the God-Killer Trident was still close enough to cut a shallow layer of her skin.
Afterward, she vanished entirely, swallowed by a powerful torrent of wind current.
The God-Killer Trident, its task unfinished, returned instantly to its master’s waiting hand.
Aegis then focused onto Bella’s blank face.
She was still hypnotised.
The delicate right cheek marred by the slap, struck a chord in Aegis’ heart.
He quickly slapped himself. It seemed he still didn’t learn his lesson after all these years.
