Chapter 935: For the Curtain Call, The End of the World as we Know It (26).
The small star continued to balloon in size until it had become large enough to illuminate the entire battlefield in its scourging glare and heat.
Then it grew even more.
And more.
And more.
Until it had become a personality in the Evernight sky, turning night to day.
The light of the crimson moon was overshadowed for a moment.
And the world was dyed in light once again, so much so, the gory scene down below was revealed to all eyes in its magnificent horror.
Rivers of blood.
Hills of bodies, piled higher thant the broken ruins.
Perhaps, the veil and clouds blocking their eyes should have been lifted.
However, so depe they were entrenched, no one, no human, no Devil, seemed to noticed the flood of light from the new Sun.
That luminous grace only lasted for a moment, thought.
Beside the enormous sun, a smaller star appeared. It was red, just like the blood moon.
However, it gave off a sinister, otherworldly glow unlike the abhorrent crimson moon.
The red sun began to devour the ball of flames in the sky.
The orange tinged black clouds slowly turned a deep red.
The destroyed city had changed once again.
It was as though the entire city— no. The entire world, had been transported into the innards of a world-devouring creature.
The sky looked like a seething pool of blood, sloshing and swirling disgustingly.
It was terrifying.
The enormous Sun by now, had already been completely swallowed.
Now, swirling and turning in the sky, was a red Sun that lit up the world, turning it into a crimson Hell.
But that was not the final transformation.
First there was a flame, burning bright and furious.
Then a crimson fire, its appalling glare entrenching the already bloodied world.
And finally, the star was stained black.
Like an ink blotch, the darkness spread through the crimson star.
The light faded away.
The Evernight returned, perhaps even darker that before.
The ink blotch of darkness continued to spread until eventually, the Star burning bright, had become a dark star.
Despite the light disappearing, the heat emanating from the dark star was as several times greater than that of the first two.
The dark star continued to grow in size as Cain poured in more and more mana. He had even tapped into the {Mana Vault} for this spell.
’Damn. This might be a little overboard.’ He thought to himself.
However, glancing at the unholy twisting pillars of darkness behind the Devil, he shook his head.
Staring at the magic produced by the human, Abaloth couldn’t help but narrow his eyes.
’This human...’
Abaloth had achieved the third Tier not too long ago. However, he had been Tier 2 for a time.
During that time, he had battled countless creatures in this world to acquire enough energy to progress in levels.
Regardless of how powerful the mutant beast or aether beast, or Devil was, he had never seen anything capable of this much destruction.
He had also been unable to to output this much power back then as well.
The Devil’s brows furrowed.
A seed of something blossomed in the Devils innards.
Like a rot festering.
The coiling dragons of darkness swirled even more furiously.
The world unraveled between this two characters.
Both wielding darkness and death.
The dark star began to move.
The pillars of darkness surged forward.
They crashed into one another.
The explosion that was expected did not happen immediately.
The Magic Wheel behind Abaloth turned a step.
A wave passed through reality like a ripple on the ocean.
As the ripple traveled, all color was swept away, save for the swirling pita of darkness in Abaloth’s skull turning a viscous bike green, its austere radiance bathing the world.
Abaloth’s lips turned up into a spiteful sneer.
"Foolish."
Indeed, what was the point of struggling in futility?
He could never understand the mind of lesser creatures.
It was a thing of tragedy. Of tragic insignificance.
At the end, this human warrior would die at his hand and his ashes would mingle with sand and blood.
Then it would be washed away by the rain.
There would be no one to pen the human into history, because every other human on this world would die too.
Indeed, it was all futility.
As he raised his hand to initiate the final blow, Abaloth felt there was something wrong.
The Decil’s eyes widened as horror, a feeling it had forgotten, enveloped it.
Time seemed to come to a halt.
’How?’
The human was supposed to be frozen with the rest of the world.
So how?
Instead of that, he was shooting towards him like a blazing star.
With a furious roar, Cain swung {Eidwyrm} in a full circle.
Abaloth quickly shot backward, but Cain had already accomplished his mission.
The world of black and white trembled.
Realizing what had happy, Abaloth’s face turned several shades of white and green.
"You... You!"
Cain chuckled manically as the time that had frozen slowly resumed.
"You fool! All the humans down there will die because of you!" Abaloth roared, spittle flying from his mouth as he stretched his hand to try and bring his own spe
The depths of Cain’s eyes ignited with a golden flame as several colors began to envelope his body.
In his mind, he couldn’t help but laugh,
"What is this? Are you scared?"
Abaloth’s furious eyes settled on him.
"How?! How did you do it?!"
The spells he had created were Tier 3 spells. No Tier 2 creature should have been able to understand them, much less interfere with them in any way.
It was simply something unheard of. This was beyond the point of anomalous.
It was...
It was...
As the dark star and the pillars of darkness collided, bathing the world in true darkness, swallowing everything, Cain chuckled mirthfully.
His plan had worked.
Maybe it has worked too well.
From what he could tell from the initial collision, this portion of the world was about to be swallowed and completely destroyed by a cataclysmic implosion never seen before.
And with him at the center of it, there was no way he, or anyone, be they human or devil, would be surviving it.
He let out a sigh of relief and perhaps, disappointment.
’So this is it, huh...’
He looked up to the sky.
’This is where it ends.’
As the darkness consumed the world, he had nothing running through his mind.
It was surprisingly peaceful.
Sound and light was swallowed up.
He closed his eyes.
