God-Tier Fishing System-Chapter 627
When had Alina ever spoken and laughed with a man like this?
Laughing so freely, so naturally—like old friends reunited after a long separation.
Never.
Not once.
"Ethan..."
Veyr clenched his fists so hard that his knuckles turned white, his molars grinding audibly.
He could not accept it.
In terms of appearance, he was no worse than Ethan—handsome and refined, a jade tree facing the wind.
In terms of background, he was a core genius of the Azure Dragon clan, a future contender for the position of clan leader, backed by an ancient lineage.
In terms of strength, he was not inferior either. If Ethan did not possess a divine weapon, the outcome of a real fight was far from certain.
So why?
Why did Junior Sister Alina ignore him so thoroughly, yet show such interest in a human boy she had met only recently?
Veyr’s heart burned with unwillingness.
He could not understand it.
And he refused to accept it.
While Ethan, Alina, and Lunara were speaking, Sylren led the two three-legged Golden Crows toward Verelia.
The siblings stood shoulder to shoulder, gazing at Ethan from afar.
"This man actually possesses an artifact," Verelia said slowly, her eyes complicated.
"That spear is definitely no ordinary artifact. It should be a Chaos artifact."
"His combat power is terrifying," another Golden Crow said in a low voice.
"Even if we join forces, we’re no match for him."
"But how did he ignore the laws of the Training Trial Secret Realm?" the third Golden Crow asked, unable to hide his confusion.
Sylren frowned deeply, his expression solemn.
He replayed the scene in his mind.
The instant when green light enveloped Ethan.
The moment the rules of the secret realm vanished from his body.
"That power..."
Sylren’s pupils suddenly contracted.
He slowly lifted his head and looked toward the towering tree in the depths of the valley.
Green light.
Ancient aura.
Boundless vitality.
That power did not belong to Ethan.
And within the Training Trial Secret Realm, there was only one existence capable of such a miracle.
"The Sacred Tree..."
Sylren whispered, his voice trembling.
"Lord Hibiscus... has awakened."
Verelia’s expression changed.
"The nine Hibiscus Fruits have all fallen," Sylren continued, his voice low.
"According to the ancient rules, once all fruits are taken, the Sacred Tree will awaken from its deep slumber."
"But why would Lord Sacred Tree help Ethan?" Verelia asked, puzzled.
At that moment, the Hibiscus Sacred Tree trembled.
Its enormous trunk shimmered as countless dots of green light emerged, spreading outward like ripples.
In an instant, the entire valley was enveloped in green radiance.
The ground that had been torn apart by battle smoothed itself.
Cracked earth healed.
Broken rocks returned to their original places.
Withered medicinal herbs straightened.
Spiritual plants that had been reduced to ashes grew back as if time itself were flowing in reverse.
It was as if the valley had returned to the moment before the great battle.
A miracle beyond comprehension.
Ethan, Alina, Lunara, and the others all turned toward the Hibiscus Sacred Tree.
A pure, gentle aura spread from it, filling the valley.
There was no pressure.
Only peace.
Facing the Sacred Tree felt like standing before a flawless, benevolent goddess—tolerant, ancient, and unfathomable.
The three-legged Golden Crows trembled violently.
Without hesitation, they knelt to the ground.
"Greetings, Lord Sacred Tree!"
Their voices were filled with reverence and awe.
Alina and the others were shocked.
They had not expected to witness the awakening of the Hibiscus Sacred Tree with their own eyes.
According to ancient records, the Hibiscus Tree was born when heaven and earth first opened.
It took countless years to gain spiritual wisdom.
After ages beyond reckoning, it attained enlightenment and stepped into the Emperor Realm.
Among all great emperors, past and present, few—if any—could rival it.
There were even secret records in ancient relics that spoke of a realm above the Great Emperor.
A realm unreachable by ordinary beings.
And the Hibiscus Sacred Tree was infinitely close to that realm.
A branch slowly extended from the Sacred Tree, floating through the air until it stopped before Ethan.
"Do not worry," a gentle voice echoed in the valley.
"Those destined to obtain the Hibiscus Fruits will naturally obtain them."
"I will not break my own rules."
"I only wished to take one more look at them."
Ethan remained calm.
"Take it away," the Sacred Tree continued.
The branch lightly touched the center of Ethan’s brows.
A blue light flashed.
Ethan felt a brief warmth between his eyebrows before it vanished.
He examined his body.
Nothing seemed different.
Yet he did not doubt the Sacred Tree.
If such an existence wished to erase him, there would be no need for such subtlety.
"Miss Alina," Ethan said, turning his hand.
Two Hibiscus Fruits floated toward her.
"These are yours."
Alina accepted them solemnly.
"Thank you."
"You deserve them," Ethan replied simply.
The Sacred Tree withdrew its branch.
The green light faded.
The valley fell silent once more.
It was as though nothing had happened.
Yet Ethan knew— 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
That terrifying existence was still watching.
The three-legged Golden Crows stared greedily at the Hibiscus Fruits in Alina’s hand, their throats rolling unconsciously.
But with Ethan standing there, none of them dared to make a move.
"Mr. Ethan," Alina said, cupping her hands, "the matter here is concluded. I’ll take my leave."
"If you have the chance, you must visit White Emperor City."
"I will," Ethan nodded.
Before leaving, Alina glanced at the countless precious spiritual herbs in the valley, her heart aching.
So many treasures.
Yet none could be taken.
With a wave of her hand, she took Veyr and the others and flew out of the valley.
As he followed, Veyr turned back and stared at Ethan.
"You wait for me," he muttered.
Then he hurried to Alina’s side.
"Junior sister, we only got two Hibiscus Fruits. Isn’t Ethan getting too good of a deal?"
"It’s already good enough," Alina replied calmly. "He has seven. If you’re capable, go take them yourself. Anyway, I’m not his opponent."
Veyr took a mental blow of over 9,000 points.
He was so furious that his teeth ached.
After calming down, he asked again, "There are so many precious herbs in the valley. Why don’t we take some?"
"Take them?" Alina’s gaze turned cold.
"The Hibiscus Sacred Tree has awakened. This valley is her domain. Every blade of grass belongs to her."
"If she doesn’t allow it, who dares to touch anything?"
"...I was reckless," Veyr sighed.
Ethan watched as Alina and the others disappeared into the horizon.
Then he took a single step forward.
Space rippled.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared beside Sylren.
When Sylren and the others saw Ethan’s sudden appearance, they were so frightened that their eyes nearly popped out.
