Goldy Ascendance: Limitless Celestial!-Chapter 38: Power Of Yue Phaelo!
"Not gonna happen!" My voice cut through the stillness of the bamboo forest as I rose into the air, careful not to disturb the delicate balance of leaves beneath me. The world around me remained frozen, space itself held in a taut, invisible net spun by my mastery of the Space Dao. Not even the faintest breeze stirred, and the countless bamboo leaves seemed locked in place by an unseen force.
I stood at the pinnacle of the tallest bamboo stalk, hands clasped behind my back in a manner reminiscent of the ancient masters—still, serene, yet brimming with hidden power.
But time was of the essence.
Darkness slithered around me like an obedient serpent, cloaking me in its embrace, merging my presence with the night until I became little more than a shadow.
No one, not even the Divine Realm cultivator ahead, would be able to perceive me, at least not immediately. Confident in my concealment, I shot forward.
My speed was unimaginable to any ordinary cultivator, running across the tops of bamboo leaves without so much as a whisper of movement. I didn’t just move; I manipulated space and time, my body slipping between moments, erasing the distance before me in an instant. My eyes never left my sister, who was flying desperately ahead of me, her movements frantic, panicked.
The figures on the ground, mere shadows in the night, trailed her relentlessly.
Five cloaked figures—the very same I had seen back in town.
Their speed was unnerving, almost matching hers. But what sent a chill down my spine was their proximity to the Divine Realm cultivator whose senses had cast a wide net over the area. If anything touched the surface of their sense, the figure would know...
Even a breath—one careless exhale from those any of us—and they’d alert that terrifying entity.
"No," I whispered through gritted teeth. One of the figures was preparing to strike. I could feel it in the air, the malicious intent coiling like a spring, ready to pounce. Whether his attack succeeded or not, it would be enough to touch the edge of the Divine Realm’s senses—and then it’d be over.
For me. For my sister. We’d be at the mercy of a being beyond comprehension.
I was left with no choice. Act now and risk revealing myself... or wait, and suffer whatever fate awaited us.
I’ve never been one to wait around on the chopping block.
"Chaaa!" My sword cry tore through the forest, and with it, a sharp, dark sword arc screamed through the air.
The sound of its release was deafening, slicing through the night with such force that for a brief moment, time itself seemed to stand still. The overwhelming power behind my attack froze the world around me.
In a single bound, I broke through space, shattering the distance between myself and my sister.
My arms wrapped around her midair, catching her just as she faltered, her body limp in my grasp. The world spun as we rotated through the air, but I wasted no time, shooting us both in a new direction at an impossibly fast speed, leaving behind nothing but a blur.
As I caught her, the frozen moment snapped back to life. The five dark figures, who had seemed suspended in time, suddenly exploded.
Their bodies were cleaved cleanly into three pieces each, falling silently into the shadowed forest below. A quarter of the towering bamboo forest fell with them, their severed trunks crashing to the ground like giant spears.
Swaaauuuaaahhhhhh!
The sound was followed by something far more chilling—a wave of oppressive, corrosive energy, crawling up my spine like icy fingers.
The air itself seemed to tremble as a dark aura descended upon us, smothering everything in its path. My sister’s body trembled in my arms, her already unstable energy faltering under the weight of this presence.
Worse still, I could feel my own life force being drained, slowly but steadily.
"Not in your wildest dreams!" I growled, my voice filled with defiance. I wasn’t about to let some Divine Realm cultivator snatch my life away so easily.
Letting out my entire cultivation base in a single, explosive surge, I called upon the heavens themselves. When a Heavenly Realm cultivator releases their full power, the world responds in kind. The ground trembles, the air vibrates, and the very fabric of reality bends. Darkness distorted all around me, as if welcoming me into its cold embrace.
My body tingled with the rush of power, the elements themselves acknowledging my presence.
But it was a trap. I could feel it. The Divine Realm entity lurking in the shadows had already woven their control into the darkness itself. If I stepped into that shadowy abyss, it wouldn’t be my ally—it would be my executioner. The invisible hand of the enemy was touching every inch of the darkness here, manipulating it, waiting for me to make a wrong move.
I chuckled, my voice light despite the crushing tension. "Time-Space Dao!" My mastery over time and space flared, attempting to bend the world to my will.
But as soon as I unleashed my power, the darkness around us began to pulse, rippling as far as the eye could see. It responded to my efforts, warping in unnatural patterns, as though mocking me.
"Well!" I couldn’t help but laugh, though it was more from disbelief than anything. The space was locked, or so to speak, by the darkness of the man! Such mastery!
The darkness was closing in, slow and deliberate, as though it was giving me time to contemplate just how screwed we were. The Divine Realm entity was toying with us, letting us think we had a chance before they crushed us.
It was obvious now—they had us right where they wanted us.
"This is as far as you can run, mysterious helper... and daughter of the Space-Time clans!" The distorted voice echoed through the forest, its eerie tone sending shivers down my spine.
I glanced at my sister, her face twisted in pain, her body trembling in my arms. She bit her lip as she allowed me to hold her closer, and despite the situation, I couldn’t help but tease her. "You sure are helpless."
"Surrender, and bow to me," the voice continued, growing more confident. "And I will let you go. I have no need for you, but her..." The threat was clear. My sister was the target.
I scanned the forest, trying to pinpoint the speaker, but they were crafty—appearing and disappearing, darting through the shadows with such skill that I couldn’t get a lock on their position. The cultivator was showing off, flashing their power to taunt me.
"The impulsiveness of cultivators," I muttered under my breath, shaking my head. Really? All this posturing just to flex? How typical.
"That, I won’t do," I declared, my voice steady. Yes, we were trapped.
The Divine cultivator had sealed the space with their darkness Dao, and while my mastery over space was formidable, there was no escaping a Divine’s net once it was in place. If I had acted first, maybe, but now... it wasn’t possible.
But was I truly helpless?
"Limitless!" I whispered, the word itself a declaration of power.
The dark aura pressing down on us wavered as my cultivation flared again, more intense than before. The air rippled in response, as though it too was preparing for what was to come.
