50: Chapter 50 Exceptionally Clear

50 -50 Exceptionally Clear

The parking lot grew even quieter.

The panting of both a man and a woman was distinctly audible.

James Thompson pulled back slightly, his shirt collar already ripped open.

His expression was slightly cold, tinged with a hint of fierceness.

James Thompson gazed downward at Julia Land’s confused eyes.

She had just called him Noah.

James Thompson’s eyes were deep.

He lifted her horizontally.

“Open the door.”

His voice was hoarse and indifferent.

The bodyguard hurried over, not daring to look their way as he opened the door.

James Thompson, holding Julia Land, crouched down and got into the car.

“Go to Sincere Heart.”

Julia lived in a building called Sincere Heart.

The car started and drove out of the parking lot.

Strips of streetlight seeped into the car from outside.

It was alternately bright and dark.

James Thompson looked down at the woman in his embrace, his slender fingers gently touching her vivid red lips.

The car pulled up outside the Sincere Heart Community Building.

Sophia Hart, just back from hanging out, saw the car downstairs, recognized the license plate, and walked over to knock on the window.

The car door opened.

She bent down to look inside and saw the man’s fingers ambiguously positioned on the woman’s red lips.

“…Brother Thompson.”

James Thompson lifted the person out of the car.

The woman’s high-slit dress hung down, her fair legs captivating under the night sky.

He glanced at her, and the bodyguard brought a coat to cover around Julia Land’s waist.

Sophia Hart whispered, “Did Julia drink too much?”

“Hmm,” James Thompson’s voice was deep.

Sophia took a sneaky glance at James Thompson’s side face; Brother Thompson seemed not in the best of moods.

They entered the building, took the elevator up to the eighth floor, and Sophia Hart used her key to open the door.

James Thompson carried the person into Julia Land’s bedroom and placed her on the bed.

The woman on the bed had red-rimmed eyes.

He stared deeply at the woman on the bed, bowed down to remove her high heels, and carried them out of the bedroom to place in the shoe cabinet at the door.

The door closed, and he left.

Sophia Hart watched the whole process, scratching her head, slightly confused.

Why had Brother Thompson brought Julia back?

Thomas Sullivan, Trevor Sullivan, and Chloe Sullivan were preparing to leave the party.

While calling James Thompson, Chloe asked Trevor Sullivan, “Did Brother Thompson leave already?

I didn’t see him.”

Trevor Sullivan, hands in his pockets, lazily responded, “Probably went back first.”

At the entrance of the party.

Thomas Sullivan saw Noah Quarter and approached him, his tone slightly aggressive, “Director, when have you and Miss Shaw decided to get married?

I want to join the celebration and share the joy.”

Noah Quarter responded indifferently, his tone cold, “Very soon.”

Arabella Shaw pursed her lips and smiled.

Thomas Sullivan’s lips curled into a smirk, “I’ll look forward to the good news.”

Thomas Sullivan’s driver came by car, and he waved to Chloe and the others, “I’m leaving first.”

The driver opened the door, and Thomas Sullivan bent down to get in, then suddenly wondered why he hadn’t seen Julia Land??

“Where is Secretary Land?” he asked the driver, Edward Fields.

Edward Fields, puzzled, “Secretary Land?”

Thomas frowned, wondering if she was still hidden in some corner of the party.

He called Julia Land.

It took a long time for someone to answer.

“Hello?” Julia Land, holding her head and lying on the bed, questioned her entire life.

“Where are you?”

Julia took a moment to respond, moving the phone away to check the caller ID and seeing it was Thomas Sullivan, “At home.”

Relieved to hear she was safely home, Thomas relaxed, “Then it’s all good.”

He hung up the phone.

Julia Land put down her phone, smelled the alcohol on herself, and uncomfortably crawled out of bed to find some clothes and take a shower.

Sophia Hart was outside applying a face mask and watching TV.

Hearing noise from Julia’s room, she went to check and found her in the bathroom.

“Julia, do you have a headache?”

“A little.”

Sophia Hart went to find some headache medicine.

After Julia had showered and settled on the living room couch, she took the medicine and rubbed her temples in discomfort, feeling nauseous.

Sophia Hart poured her a glass of water, “Julia, feeling bad?”

“Yeah, get me a face mask.”

Julia took the face mask and put it on, hugging a pillow.

Sophia’s eyes fell on the hickeys on Julia’s porcelain white neck, “Julia, do you know who brought you home tonight?”

“Yeah.”

“What about you and Brother Thompson?”

“Had a bit to drink, I think I mistook him for someone else.”

“…”

“Go to bed early, it’s late.” Julia patted Sophia on the head, her face masked in black, and went to her bedroom.

She closed the bedroom door, took a deep breath, and walked to the drawer, pulling it open.

Julia picked up the photo of Violet, bloody and indistinct.

Tonight almost…

I’m sorry, Little Violet, it’s Julia’s fault.

Julia put the photo away and took out her phone, sending a message to Noah.

Arabella Shaw went to the wardrobe, she pulled out a suit jacket of Noah’s that still smelled of perfume, and handed it to the nanny, “Take this and throw it away.”

The nanny complied, taking the clothes to discard, but before doing so, she examined them.

Her employer’s clothes were all designed by renowned designers, each piece worth tens of thousands.

The nanny thought it was a pity to throw away such good clothes.

As it was the employer’s clothes, the servants couldn’t take them home without permission, though the nanny regretted it, she still had to throw them away.

Noah came out of the bathroom wearing a bathrobe.

The open robe softened the severity of his facial features.

Arabella put down her phone, walked over, tiptoeing, and hung her arms around Noah’s neck, “Noah, when shall we get married?”

“Aren’t you preparing to release a new album?”

This was Arabella’s first step into the music industry.

The company had arranged the best resources for her.

Next on the agenda was the album release and promotional events, it would be busy.

Arabella wanted to have the wedding soon to let everyone know she was now Mrs.

Noah.

Julia wouldn’t have a chance anymore.

But her agent, Sister Wilson, also disagreed with her postponing the wedding again.

“How about we go and register our marriage first and have the wedding ceremony later?” Arabella nuzzled Noah, “Could we do that?”

At least, they could get the marriage certificate first.

Noah pulled her hands down, “Sure, find a good day and let me know.”

Arabella happily flipped through the calendar for a date, while Noah went to his study.

He sat on a chair, his computer on.

There were still some overseas transactions he hadn’t completed.

But his thoughts were somewhat troubled.

He and Arabella were about to register their marriage, which was good.

His phone on the table suddenly vibrated, Noah glanced at it, and saw a photo sent by Julia.

Julia [I’ve sent some little gifts to your little princess.

By the way, have you named her?]

Noah waited a few seconds, then replied to Julia, [Thank you, her name is Bella Quarter.]

Julia stared at the name Bella Quarter for a while, Bella Bella, the beloved darling of her parents.

Julia [Bella Quarter, that’s a lovely name.]

After sending the message, she exited the chat and put down her phone.

Hoping that Arabella would be magnanimous enough to be happy when she saw the gifts Julia had sent for the child.

Julia raised her hand, her fingers touching her red lips.

Tonight in the car, she was actually still a bit sober.

His fingers had lingered on her lips.
