The golem's bloodshot eyes widened as they reflected the cold blade quickly approaching him, carrying with it the aura of death—something he was familiar with.

Nylian's eyes had narrowed into slits, his pupils gleaming with a ruthless and bloodthirsty aura. His blade was only inches away from cutting the golem's head off.

But at the last moment, the golem unnaturally pivoted his body and raised his arm, blocking the elf's attack.

The blade cut through the golem's armor, flesh, and muscle, then finally stopped at the bone.

"Hmph!" Nylian snorted in displeasure. "Sturdy indeed."

The next moment, he jumped and placed his feet on the golem's chest.

Then, with a powerful force, he thrust his legs, causing the golem to fly away across the surface of the water, while he backflipped in the air and landed gracedully several meters behind.

His previous attack was powerful enough to decapitate another Rank 3 - Mana Vortex Magus. However, before the aberrant knight, it proved to be futile.

I can see why Adam chose to restrain this creature at the bottom of the sea, the elf thought to himself.

But instead of feeling fear or panic, his lips curled into a smile, and his eyes flashed with blazing fighting intent.

"I never thought I'd be able to cast that spell I've been working on for so many decades," he muttered under his breath.

He bit onto the hilt of his sword and started weaving hand signs in a slow yet steady rhythm. Following that, his palms lit up with a resplendent green light and he bathed his blade in it.

Rank 3 Spell: Zephyr's Blade!

Green magical energy swirled around the elf's sword, the winds whipped by it strong and sharp.

However, this was not the spell that Nylian had been working on. No, this was far too tame compared to what he had been truly working on.

That spell tested his knowledge and understanding of not only the esoteric arcane arts but also the philosophy of the Way.

After decades of trial and error, he was finally able to create such a deadly spell.

However, he had found no opponent to test it out on. The might of the spell was so great that his opponents would die before the spell had even shown its true splendor.

After all… this spell bordered on the strength of the Mana Core Rank!

As someone who took great delight in fighting and spell-casting, Nylian was often disheartened that he never got to truly execute the spell that he had spent so much time and effort creating.

But today… the time had come.

He pointed his wind magic-infused blade at the grotesque creature standing in the distance and arrogantly said, "I hope you won't be a disappointment."

The golem was silent. He deeply gazed at the white-robed elf, then at his forearm that had a deep cut in it.

Fury bubbled up within his bloodshot eyes and he turned to Nylian once again and roared in anger and madness.

Following that, another pair of thick grotesque arms emerged from his back. They wriggled in the air for a few moments before clenching into tight fists, signifying the golem's control over them.

But that was not all. A moment later, the golem conjured three more weapons—one for each of his hands. Now, he wilded a broadsword, a double axe, a mace, and finally a war hammer!

Only after he had conjured all of his weapons did he let out a bestial cry and bolted towards the elf.

Nylian, on the other hand, was momentarily taken aback seeing his opponent grow two more arms and conjure several more weapons.

But soon, he started to grin from ear to ear. "Yes… Finally! Finally, I can go all out!"

His current demeanor was completely unlike the courteous and pragmatic side that he usually displayed as a councilor of Ravenfell.

No.

Now, he was no longer a councilor of Ravenfell.

Now, he was Nylian the fighting Magus!

The Magus hailed as the Prodigy of Saratoga!

He conjured his second sword and cast Zephyr's Blade on it as well. Unable to contain his excitement any longer, he rushed towards his opponent, meeting him head-on.

CLANG!!

The two figures clashed against one another, sending shockwaves all around them. Not only that, but the solid impact resulting from their weapons had also caused large tidal waves to form.

Nylian's muscles bulged with raw strength and the veins in his arms started to throb as he blocked the golem's attack with both blades.

However, the aberrant knight had an extra pair of arms.

Seeing that the elf was already occupied with his attack, the golem's eyes flashed with a cunning light and he attacked with his two other arms.

The mace and the double axe came crashing down at Nylian's head with unmatched ferocity and accuracy. If even one of the weapons landed, the elf would, for sure, die.

Nylian's expression grew extremely solemn as he saw the weapons enlarge in his vision. At the last moment, his lips curled into a smirk.

And just when the weapons were only inches away from his face, he disappeared like a ghost, leaving behind a trail of wind.

No spell.

No combat technique.

Just pure speed!

In a fraction of a second, the elf had maneuvered gracefully around the golem and positioned himself behind him.

Nylian then raised both his blades, increased the output of mana, and delivered a vicious downward swing.

SLASH!

Augmented by wind magic, his blades effortlessly cut through the golem's arm that was wielding the mace.

Realizing this, the golem immediately drew back. Although there was no fear in his eyes still, there was caution. Extreme caution.

He vigilantly gazed at the elf standing calmly as green-colored wind swirled around his blades. Then, he gazed at his cleaved arm and couldn't help but growl in frustration.

He didn't feel any pain, no. But he did feel extremely agitated.

The golem once again got into a fighting stance and faced Nylian. However, unlike the last time, he didn't recklessly rush towards him.

Nylian, on the other hand, smirked seeing the golem's change in demeanor. He pointed his blade at the grotesque creature and coldly muttered, "One down. Three to go.

"And then... I shall bring the storm!"
