Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 838: Family Member
Chapter 838: Family Member
It was easy to overlook the various titles and monikers that Adam had received in his life.
In the Twilight Brotherhood, people knew him as the Black Vengeance or the Tyrant. In Ravenfell, as well as the entire Ulier Continent, people simply knew him as The Dark King.
Most did not even know that he was a noble Count of Ravenfell, or that he was the Lord Commander of its elite unit of Magi, the Black Legion.
So when Anna learned that Adam was the leader of the Black Legion, she did not know what to believe anymore.
At this point, she wouldn’t even be surprised if someone stepped forward and claimed that Adam was the forgotten prince of the Acadian Empire.
“Adam is the… what?” Anna was still in a daze, trying to digest this newfound information.
Just what has been up to while I was gone? She thought incredulously.
Is this really the Adam that I know? That I raised?
The more tales she heard of Adam’s exploits, the more doubtful she became. To her, it seemed like a stranger was wearing her little brother’s name.
Or perhaps, even his… skin.
Raidon was confused, wondering if he had said something wrong. “Count Constantine is the Lord Commander of the Black Legion.”
His eyes flashed with brilliance, and he asked, “My Lady… are you Anna Fireborne?”
Unbeknownst to him, his back had involuntarily lowered a little. It didn’t matter if the woman before her was the same station as him, or weaker than him, or even a mortal.
What mattered was that she was his Lord Commander’s relative.
Anna simply nodded in a daze.
But the next moment, Kaspar York gently grabbed her by the shoulder and pulled her behind him.
He looked at Raidon and spoke with the same polite smile, “Young man, how did you come to make a connection between the two?”
Raidon knew exactly what he was talking about. He conjured a rolled-up parchment from his storage artifact and unfurled it.
He glanced at it again, seemingly to confirm its contents. “Yes, here. Anna Fireborne is listed under family members or guardians.”
The man handed the parchment to Kaspar before continuing, “The moment your group submitted your identification documents at the security outpost, one of my men notified me. Then, I confirmed the information with Saratoga before coming here.”
Kaspar grasped the parchment and read its contents. It had the official seal of Saratoga Castle and contained Adam’s student information.
This document was filled out when the raven-haired youth had enrolled at the castle more than a decade ago.
The frown on Kaspar York’s face gradually eased and he handed the parchment to Anna, saying, “Just like back in Moon City.”
Anna retrieved the paper and saw her name jotted down in the family member or guardian section.
A warm smile slowly found its way to her lips.
She handed the parchment back to Raidon, nodding. “Yes, I am Anna Fireborne,” she said, her voice cool and dignified.
The moment Raidon confirmed that the crimson-haired lady was indeed Adam’s relative, he stood straight and stuck his breastplate with his fist.
“We greet Lady Fireborne!”
His men followed suit. “We greet Lady Fireborne!”
Witnessing the sudden development, the people who had gathered nearby burst into hushed discussions.
This was a gossip-worthy sensation!
After all, they had just learned that the Dark King had a relative, and said relative was present in Ravenfell!
Anything and anyone associated with the Dark King was sure to soar in prestige.
Such was the aura of the youngest man to ever become a Mana Vortex Magus!
Raidon, now humbler than before, asked politely, “My Lady, may I ask if you have already found a place to stay?”
The Captain of the Dark Legion completely disregarded Kaspar York, a Mana Vortex Magus, and also someone vastly older than him.
All that mattered to him was this crimson-haired lady who was his Lord Commander’s relative.
“No, we—” Before she could finish her words, Ada interrupted her.
“We need a good place to stay!” She said excitedly. “Please, tell us you’ve prepared accommodations for us, uh, I mean the Dark King’s sister.”
“We most certainly have,” said the Captain of the Black Legion.
The Dark King’s sister? She looks nothing like him, he thought, his heart beginning to fill with suspicion.
He turned to Anna and respectfully added, “If you would please follow us, we will escort you to our Lord Commander’s compound.”
This was a complete turn of events for Anna and her group. They were thinking they would have to stay in one of the run-down inns in the outskirts of the city until Adam arrived, but now… they were being treated no differently than the nobility of Ravenfell.
Anna simply nodded her head in response. Kaspar, on the other hand, was extremely vigilant of this development.
“Where is your Lord Commander’s manor?” He asked suspiciously. “Also, I have learned that he isn’t in Ravenfell at the moment. In fact, he hasn’t been here for over a year. Is it wise to take us to the manor without your Lord’s permission?”
Raidon fell silent for a moment, stroking the thick stubble on his chin. “Well, my lord, your argument is sound. I had assumed the Lord Commander wouldn’t object to allowing a relative into his compound without prior permission.”
He thought for a moment before suggesting, “Alternatively, we can escort you to the Black Bastion.”
“Black Bastion?” Daryl asked with an inquisitive gaze. “That sounds… ominous.”
“It is the stronghold of the Black Legion,” said Raidon. He pointed to the large structure in the distance. “Do you see Council Keep over there? Our stronghold is but a short distance from that building.”
Anna immediately refused. “No, we will not go there.” She looked Raidon in the eye and instructed, “Take us to Adam’s manor.” freēwēbηovel.c૦m
“Yes, my lady.” Raidon stuck his breastplate again.
“But…” Kaspar York tried to persuade the princess.
“It’s alright,” Anna assured him.
Kaspar’s mouth opened and closed. In the end, he silently nodded.
“Men!” Raidon waved his hand. The next moment, one of the black-armored men guided four Night Mare steeds to the front.
It would appear that the group had come prepared.
After Anna and her group mounted the horses, they were escorted by Raidon and his men.
Everywhere they went, they drew the curious gazes of the onlookers. They couldn’t help but wonder just who the crimson-haired woman and her entourage were.
After all, the men of the Black Legion only answered to one person. For them to personally escort Anna and her group…
They wondered if the crimson-haired woman had any relationship with that person.
Before the group had even arrived at their destination, all sorts of gossip and rumors had already spread across all corners of the city.

An hour later, the group arrived before the entrance of Adam’s new manor in Uptown Quarter.
When Daryl laid his eyes on the expansive and luxurious property beyond the gates, his mouth went slightly agape.
He couldn’t help but jest, “Is this truly the resident of a mere Count?”
At the entrance to Adam’s manor stood a middle-aged man with graying hair and brown eyes, dressed in fine garments, with several maids and servants behind him.
Raidon got off his steed and walked up to him. Then, he stood right beside the middle-aged man and gazed at Anna with slightly doubtful eyes.
“Rowan, can you confirm?” He asked.
Adam’s assistant, and head butler, walked up to Anna, carefully scanning her face.
This caused the crimson-haired woman to frown. Yet, Rowan’s next words made her let her guard down.
“It truly is her!” The middle-aged man smiled warmly.
Rowan pressed his gloved right hand over his chest and bowed sincerely.
“Lady Anna, welcome to Ravenfell!”
