Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 894: Maturity (Ko-fi Bonus - )
Chapter 894: Maturity (Ko-fi Bonus Chapter)
Anna walked up to him with a faint smile adorning her lips. She stopped in front of him, eyeing the black armor and the cape over his shoulders.
"The armor suits you," she said. "You look like a true warrior."
Adam chuckled lightly. "Well, it’s a shame I don’t like wearing armor," he said with a light smirk. "I’d rather look like a fool people underestimate than someone others are wary of."
Anna rolled her eyes. "Deceitful brat!"
"Come," she said softly, taking his arm and leading him to the group behind her. "I’d like to introduce you to my friends."
Gesturing to the man with a head full of auburn hair, brown eyes, and a neatly trimmed mustache and beard, Anna softly said, "This is Daryl, my brother-in-law."
Adam stepped forward and offered a handshake. There was no need to be formal with these people since they were Anna’s friends.
"Hello, Daryl, it’s a pleassure to meet you," he said with a welcoming smile.
Daryl offered a sincere smile and shook his hand. "Lord Constantine, it is an honor to meet you."
Adam waved his other hand dismissively. "No need to address me with honorifics. You’re Anna’s brother-in-law, so I guess that makes us family as well, eh?"
Daryl was slightly taken aback before laughing amiably. "Haha, I suppose it does. Then, I shall call you Adam from now on."
"Of course." Adam grinned.
Chatting with the raven-haired youth, Daryl felt that he was warm and friendly. He just couldn’t understand why the old man, Kaspar York, would say such terrifying things about him earlier.
Monster in human clothing? Thought the auburn-haired man.
Sigh, he’s actually growing senile... Anyway, Adam turned out to be much more friendly and down-to-earth than I’d imagined.
Daryl thought that Adam would be cocky and arrogant, considering that he was the youngest man ever to become a Mana Vortex Magus, and someone who was given the title of King.
But in truth, Adam was quite approachable.
Hearing their interaction, Anna smiled. It was nice that Adam was getting along with her friends. But she felt it a little troublesome while introducing him to the next person...
She cleared her throat awkwardly and began, "And this is my childhood friend, Ada. She’s the only daughter of Duke Bray in the Ignisra Kingdom."
Adam approached her with the same smile, but soon, his smile started to falter.
He couldn’t help but ask, "Miss Ada, are you... alright?"
The woman was visibly sweating. A light sheen clung to her fair skin, and her breathing came in shallow, uneven breaths.
"Oh no," she looked at Adam, her cheeks flushing a lighter shade of red. "I’m alright now~"
Adam turned stiff.
That look... he had seen numerous women in the crowd give him that same look earlier today!
No way! Does she... he couldn’t help but wonder.
Does she like me?!
She most definitely does!
Seeing that dreamy look in her blue eyes, Adam felt a chill crawl down his spine.
He was beginning to wonder...
Was he even going to be safe in his own house?!
"Miss Ada, it’s a pleasure to meet you. If you’re feeling unwell, I hope you find plenty of rest in the manor. If you ever need anything, you only need to inform Rowan."
Adam offered a light bow to the woman and quickly turned away, leaving her gaze lingering, silently yearning for more.
Anna didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
On the one hand, it was inappropriate of her friend, Ada, to act in such a manner towards Adam, who was several years younger than her.
On the other hand, she silently applauded her little brother for tackling this awkward situation with maturity and grace.
She couldn’t help but helplessly sigh, thinking to herself, Only if Ada could be a little more mature like Adam...
Unfortunately, she’s always been a lost cause.
She suddenly thought of something else. Given that Ada was a beautiful woman, someone countless men had tried to woo back in the Ignisra Kingdom, and yet Adam had so easily brushed her off, it made her wonder...
Does Adam already have someone special in his heart?
The thought made her chuckle softly to herself.
Ah, how quickly they grow up...
No introduction was needed for the fourth person in Anna’s entourage. It was her protector, the Mana Vortex Magus, Kaspar York.
Adam walked up to him with a mischievous smirk on his face. "Lord Kaspar, I hope you’ve been having a good time."
Kapar York displayed a flat expression as he looked at Adam. The others might not have noticed it because they were weak, but how could he not?
Standing in front of Adam, the old man felt like he was standing at the base of an insurmountable mountain!
Unbeknownst to him, Kaspar’s back was already drenched in a layer of sweat. Yet, he still somehow managed to put up a brave, no, a normal front.
He placed his hand over his chest and offered a sincere bow. "Magus Constantine, your understanding of the arcane arts is truly awe-inspiring."
Adam smiled. "Well, thank you for that compliment."
Kaspar York hesitated to speak before finally gathering the courage to. "That spell related to gravity magic... was it just me, or...
Adam’s smile deepened. "Every Mana Vortex Magus present at my homecoming celebration."
"Every... Magus..." Kaspar was stunned speechless.
A moment later, he exhaled a heavy sigh. "I have to admit... you are truly unmatched in the Mana Vortex Rank."
The other three Magi didn’t have a clue as to what they were talking about, but they could tell it had something to do with the episode Kaspar York had earlier today.
Anna walked up to the raven-haired youth and asked with a slight frown, "Adam, what mischief are you up to now?"
"Haha, nothing at all!" Adam laughed nervously. Then, slipping his arm around hers, he guided her up the staircase, quickly changing the subject. "Come now, let’s have some dinner. I’m famished."
"We’re going to have a chat later," said the crimson-haired princess with a stern look on her face.
"...Sure, whatever you want." Adam had a sudden feeling that a slipper coated with mana might be flying his way later tonight.
A moment later, as they were entering through the towering wooden doors, Adam asked seemingly casually, "Oh, by the way, what did you think about my proposal?"
Anna knew what he was talking about. She remained silent for a moment before slightly shaking her head.
"We’ll stay here for the entire duration of the tournament. Once everything is over... I’ll take you with me to Europa."
There was no way she was going to leave Adam here all by himself, not after the things he had divulged to her about the evil cult he had been fighting for all these years.
She was his elder sister, his guardian. It was her duty to protect him.
So how could she leave him?
Adam’s lips curled into a bitter smile. "I see..."
He then looked his sister in the eye and nodded.
"Fine, we’ll do as you say."
