Days passed quickly.

With livestream, practice, and dates, Max didn't realize that it was already 2 days before the tournament, May 29th. Tomorrow was a joint practice day. All 40 teams had to gather in Eden Hall for a last-time check before the actual tournament.

Max decided to arrive a day earlier to prepare. He was sitting in a private jet across from a displeased man with a frown as his attention was focused on the passing cloud.

That man was StoneSword, and he seemed to be pissed. And no, he wasn't displeased because Max had a relationship with his sister. He already accepted that and gave his blessing. The cause was something else.

"What happened?" He asked Lily, who sat next to him.

"Apparently, someone tried to send a marriage proposal to me. It's that idiot blond from our Scrim."

"Should I kill him?" His expression was serious as he blurted it out. Now he knew why StoneSword was pissed.

How could he kill that bastard? Stab? Gun? Drop him from a skyscraper and make it as if it was an accident?

"No need." StoneSword spoke coldly as he turned to Max, "He's already dead to me. His family's company, too, will soon fall into my hands. Just focus on your competition. Make sure your team wins."

"Hahaha..."

'Already dead, huh?' Max thought as he chuckled wryly. 'I hope he doesn't rest in peace.'

The power of money was scary.

Max decided to change the topic of the conversation. There was no point in talking about something that had already been decided.

In the middle of the conversation, StoneSword suddenly said, "The family party has been decided to be held on the 15th of June."

Lily narrowed her eyes at that information.

"Can I not attend? It's tiring."

"You must attend," StoneSword said, glancing at Max. "Who would introduce him if you don't?"

"Oh…" She raised her voice slightly and nodded, "Max will also attend?" She turned to him.

"I guess so?" Max shrugged his shoulders, not knowing what to answer.

"Then it's good." Lily smiled and nodded in understanding. Even a boring event would be okay if he was with him.

Besides, they probably just had to stand on the side and let StoneSword deal with everything.

StoneSword sighed in relief. He didn't know how to convince his sister to attend the party next month. If she didn't attend, then his plan would go awry. But now, he could rest easily.

'Though I dislike the fact she changed because of him and not me.' He thought as he looked at Max, who chatted with Lily across from him.

Since a few days ago, Lily was clearly happier than before. She smiled a lot when she was at home. StoneSword felt complicated when he saw it. He was happy but frustrated at the same time because it wasn't him who was able to put a smile on his sister's face.

'I doubt our parents will object to their relationship. Breeze is a good and kind man. His past is clean, and he was an orphan, meaning he would enter our family in the future. He needs to learn how business works, but I can teach him that.'

Without realizing it, StoneSword thought that his sister would definitely marry Max. This came from his experience. People in high society would usually marry their first partner, although there was some cheating that could be heard every now and then.

It also applied to himself. He knew he would marry his fiancee, Rebecca. The difference was he wouldn't cheat on her because he loved her. He was also confident Breeze wouldn't cheat on his sister. Surprisingly, he considered himself to be good at judging people's character.

'The problem is that arrogant prick who doesn't know his place.' He looked out of the window, noticing the private jet would land soon. 'I guess I need to burn money to acquire 51% share faster and take over Green Life Co.'

***

A private driver chauffeured both Max and Lily to Biozone Hotel, where they would stay for a few days. Before leaving for his fiancee's apartment, StoneSword warned Max to take care of his sister and not to do something she hated.

"You can trust me."

Both of them entered the hotel and went to their respective rooms. As much as Max wanted to stay in the same room, it was impossible because StoneSword was the one who arranged their stay. Lily was also still too shy to stay together, so he couldn't help but follow the arrangement.

Afterward, Max met her in the VR room. Apparently, Lily had found a game they could play together and wanted to stream it with him.

"So, what kind of game did you find?"

"Un. So I stumbled upon this." Lily opened a screen and showed the game to Max. "It's called 'Survive to the End.' Apparently, it's a hard multiplayer game."

"Hmm, let's see…"

Max looked at the screen and watched the trailer. Two people woke up in a strange space with nothing but water and bread.

They navigated the path filled with light only to find they were stranded on an island. The only way out was to finish the task given by a system. It was as if they were in a reality show where they had to overcome obstacles.

However, this game was deadly. If one of the two died, it would be game over. The collar around their neck would blow up and shatter them into pieces.

Round in this game wasn't limited to clearing obstacles, but there was also a game where they had to survive mutated animals and poisonous gas or solve puzzles.

And because this game was an online multiplayer… People actively tried to sabotage one another even when they had to work together to solve the obstacle. It was a perfect game to increase teamwork and think out of the box.

Just like the title, you had to survive to the end. It didn't matter how many teams or people survived. All could win as long as they survived.

"It sounds good. Let's play this together."

"Then, we play it?" Lily asked with an expectant look.

Somehow, it was strange that she was so spirited. But Max didn't think much about it and nodded. He bought the game and downloaded it. Then, he invited Lily to his party, and they logged into the game's Lobby together.

Survival to the End's Lobby looked like a jungle with wooden houses built here and there, hidden among the trees.

The atmosphere around this Lobby was lively, more than Knight's Journey and Roach Planet. However, it also retained the calm atmosphere that wasn't present in Midnight Heist's Lobby.

He looked at himself and noticed his clothes were very modern and easy to move in—all black to blend in the darkness.

Looking around, he noticed some people were holding cold weapons. They were the main equipment used to survive in this game. Guns didn't exist.

'This is cool.'

Max liked it here. Now, he just had to find Lily and join the tutorial together. The tutorial center was in a large building in the main square where people gathered.

'Let's see… Where is she?'

He opened the map of the Lobby to locate Lily. Finding her was easy, as they had created a party before. A green dot that showed her location was shown, moving toward him slowly.

'There she is. She's behind the crowd, huh? It will take her a while to get here.'

While waiting, he set up his stream. The loading screen appeared and he just needed to wait for her.

After a while, he saw her.

A girl wearing clothes similar to his appeared in the crowd. She waved her hand and got closer.

"Have you started the stream yet?"

"Yes. Right now, the loading screen is showing up. I can change it to the in-game screen and do an intro anytime." Max answered and brought up the screen, "How about yours?"

"Perfectly set up." She put her index and thumb together near her face, creating an OK mark. "And there are 1K viewers waiting. It's a lot… I just put your name in the title."

"That's normal. It also happened when I had a collaboration with Flexy in the past." He explained, smiling at her. "And don't mind using my name. I am glad that your channel grew thanks to my name."

"Hmm…" She hummed, and her lips curled up slightly, "Thank you."

"No problem." He said, "Now, shall we do the intro together? Do you have any idea?"

At his question, Lily shook her head.

"I have no idea. I never do any intro." She said, tilting her head. "How about doing your usual?"

"Well, let's just do that."

With the intro being decided, Max changed the screen at the same time as Lily. Then, they stood next to each other, and he started the intro.

"Hello, guys! Hahaha, today we are playing Survival to the End." He greeted them excitedly and turned the camera to Lily. "And we have a guest. It's Lily!"

"Hello." Lily nodded at the camera and said nothing more.

Even so, the chat was immediately filled with booing.
