To sum it up, the first match of the joint practice could be described with CHAOS and SCARY. The roaches' army didn't cause the chaos, and the scare wasn't because of them either.

It was due to a certain team that this joint practice became dysfunctional.

"Leave the base to me. You guys go have fun."

Flexy confidently declared as he held his machine gun with a straight pose.

7 out of 9 teams they were up against were unfamiliar for them, as they didn't join the last Scrim. They didn't know their strategies or strengths. The information was limited.

That was why they wanted to play around. Max noticed that the best way to find out their opponent's strength in Roach Planet would be by looking at their reaction to an invisible enemy shooting their teammate.

Every team had a different reaction. The players who got involved might not realize it, but their coaches or observers would definitely notice their opponents' reaction to how they moved after one of their teammates was knocked down.

As such, the trio from the OrangeSquash departed for their mission to harass other teams with a sniper. The plan was simple... There was no plan. Just harass them and make them regret going against them.

Just as the first wave started, the game the OrangeSquash team wanted to play also began. It happened unexpectedly when one's guard was at the lowest point.

Boom!

Without the team noticing, one of their teammates suddenly got downed and the other two were hurt from the explosion. Their vitals decreased considerably, leaving only half of them.

"What the fuck?!"

"Sniper! There is a sniper! It's from that way!"

"Cover me and find the sniper. Leave the wave to me! I will hold them off for a few seconds."

Their reaction was pretty fast. They found the general location where the sniper was and two people began to shoot indiscriminately after using a healing pod. They emptied their first and even second magazines before stopping.

They stood a bit away from each other to ensure they didn't get the damage if one of them got hit again. However, the second shot never arrived, even when their comrade had stood up once again.

"What happened?"

"Just why?"

"That motherfucker disappeared like a ghost!"

It didn't only happen on one team, but three teams simultaneously. They got hit by one shot of a sniper rifle and that was it. The shooter then disappeared like a ghost, as if they had never been there before.

As a result, those teams got their walls damaged by the cockroaches. However, no significant damage had been done beyond that. It ended at that… harassment.

The caster of this game, Paul and Jack, commented excitedly at what happened.

"Look at that! Three players from the OrangeSquash team harassed team M24, KingLayer, and RH4 with one shot from a sniper rifle."

"That's so nasty!" Jack added with a chuckle, "Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh. But that stalled those three teams a little and made them waste their ammo that's supposed to be used against the wave. And the fact such a surprise can happen anytime will make them wary to venture out of the base now."

"Indeed. If the member they leave when they search for the wave boss is downed and killed without them noticing, their base can fall easily."

"But the same is true for the OrangeSquash team. They only have one member in their base, which is Flexy. If the other teams attacked now…"

"I don't think they will risk it. They probably think it's a trap so they won't even chase the ghost that downed one of their members without killing. It's so obvious."

"You're right." Jack nodded in agreement, "Ah, the first wave is over. The boss will spawn soon. I wonder what will happen now? Will those teams risk it for 100 annihilation points or will they stay in their base, cooped up, afraid of other attacks?"

The spectators who came to watch the match cheered loudly, shouting the name of the team they supported. Some came with a banner and held them to show their love.

A man with a black circle around his red eyes sat impatiently among them. He tapped his feet against the floor, recording everything with the small camera he brought.

"What strategy? It's clear they don't take it seriously. These casters are dumb. They don't understand at all!"

BloodSucker grumbled loudly like a grumpy old man. The people around him looked away from him without saying anything, pretending to hear nothing.

"That man only has one strategy, and it is to win in an unexpected way." He added as he clicked his tongue, "Still, he won't record this fun stuff? I will get angry if he doesn't give me his PoV footage to edit. This is too precious to be left out."

He only shut up when the screen showed Max running toward another base in the distance and repeated what he did.

In another place, a dark room with screens floating in the air, Lisa and Lily watched the screen showing Max killing one member and running away. They noted the behavior, response, and the opponent's team reaction when they got hit.

So far, 6 teams have been hit by them. And out of them, only 1 was brave enough to venture out.

"Team RH4 said that Breeze's attack at the start seems to risk getting attacked once again. They sent 3 out of their 4 members to find the wave boss while the others chose to stay in their base in fear of the unknown sniper."

"This might be a good strategy for the real competition… I think I can pull it off like Max did." Lily commented as she watched Max and Atlas meet up to harass players who were ready around the boss.

"It won't work." Lisa shot her idea down almost immediately. "If it's an elimination based on the last surviving team, it might work. But this competition adopts a point system, taken from the total points combined from annihilation and survival. To advance, our team needs to survive until the 9th wave.

"Bringing 3 SR is a bad idea if we want to survive that long. Only by using our usual strategy will we have a chance to. That's why we will deploy you instead of Miss Ferin for the first match. And in the final, where the tournament uses an elimination system, we will deploy Miss Ferin to destroy the opponents."

"I see. That's right." Lily nodded in understanding. Lisa's reasoning was correct.

Her eyes were focused on the screen once again. It showed both Max and Atlas killed the wave boss and caused three teams that targeted it to fight against each other.

Explosions and flashes could be heard and seen everywhere. Both of them seemed to have fun after causing chaos and left. Then, they resumed harassing other teams and made them frustrated.

It was part of a strategy Flexy called, 'Make Them Mad,' or MTM in short.

'It works so well that I think the other teams participating in this match will target us at the start.' Lily thought, smiling softly. 'That will make my work easier.'
