Guide to Failing as a Full-Level Green Tea-Chapter 16 - You Actually Tamed Him
Shen Roujia hid behind the wall and saw a stewardess palace maid talking to a man in plain clothes.
“Everything the consort promised you is ready on the carriage. Meet at the usual place in two days.”
Shen Roujia furrowed her brows, deep in thought.
When the palace maid turned around, Shen Roujia got a clear look at her face and widened her eyes in recognition.
If she remembered correctly, this palace maid served Consort Jia. There had been some arguments with her during the tea gathering, making her memorable to Shen Roujia.
Shen Roujia held her breath and waited until the coast was clear before quietly making her way out through a side gate to the main street.
Shen Roujia needed help, and the first person she thought of was Gu Zhi.
Among all the characters in the story, Gu Zhi was the one Shen Roujia understood best. Also, she posed no threat to Shen Roujia given her background and character.
The protagonist’s aura could be borrowed without any adverse effects.
But this capital city is so big!
Was the book so detailed even in the parts it didn’t describe?
So many roads. Where is the General’s Mansion?
Hasty decision…
Walking along the widest road is always a good choice.
Before Shen Roujia could catch her breath, clanging sounds echoed from the street.
It was late at night, so the streets were empty, and even the slightest noise was noticeable.
The fierce sounds of fighting tore through the quiet night.
Shen Roujia quickly dodged, narrowly avoiding a flying sleeve arrow.
Two shadows were locked in combat, and Shen Roujia had no time to react.
One of the shadows, being chased, headed straight for Shen Roujia.
Fortunately, this wasn’t an ambush. Shen Roujia swiftly grabbed the fallen sleeve arrow and wielded it like a dagger, slashing at the shadow with lethal intent.

A calm voice called out, “Don’t kill him!”
Shen Roujia paused, then reversed the arrow, bending down. As the shadow approached, she sprang up, using the arrow to pin the man’s neck.
Shen Roujia laughed lightly into the darkness. “What a coincidence, it’s someone familiar.”
A young man of a different ethnicity stepped out of the shadows, the same slave boy she had seen before.
Shen Roujia finally saw that the person she had subdued was also dressed in foreign attire, likely a merchant.
She kicked him away, dusted off her hands, and said with a smile, “Otherwise, I would have been scared to death.”
The slave boy frowned slightly but said nothing, turning to bind the merchant.
Shen Roujia, not one to miss an opportunity, followed him.
“Aren’t you going to thank me?”
The slave boy paused, stuffing a cloth into the merchant’s mouth. “Capturing him was only a matter of time.”
Shen Roujia clicked her tongue. “She must have given you a name by now.”
He glanced at Shen Roujia. “Yes, Chang Sheng.”
Shen Roujia nodded, speaking familiarly. “I was about to find her. Lead the way.”
Chang Sheng looked Shen Roujia up and down. “Are you two close?”
Shen Roujia patted his shoulder, smirking. “Closer than you.”
When Gu Zhi saw Shen Roujia, she was shocked. “You, why are you here?”
Shen Roujia, small in stature, had to tilt her head to look up at Gu Zhi. “Surprised?”
Gu Zhi waved Chang Sheng away. “Take him and lock him up.”
Chang Sheng subdued his aggression, obediently dragging the merchant away.
Shen Roujia couldn’t help but marvel. “I didn’t expect you could tame him.”
Gu Zhi smiled lightly. “Just using special methods.”
She then looked at Shen Roujia. “I haven’t asked, why are you here?”
Shen Roujia looked around. “In the capital, besides my brother and sister, you’re the only one I know. I need your help with something.”
Gu Zhi nodded. “In that case, let’s go inside.”
Shen Roujia followed Gu Zhi to her room and was surprised to find Gu Zhi living so frugally. The furniture looked old and refurbished. There wasn’t even a curtain for privacy.
Noticing Shen Roujia’s observation, Gu Zhi explained warmly, “Life here is a hundred times better than at the border. Make yourself comfortable.”
Shen Roujia nodded. “No need to be formal with me. You can call me Jiao Jiao, that’s my childhood name.”
She added, “My brother and sister call me that too.”
Gu Zhi smiled and nodded. “Alright. Do you have trouble at the palace?”
Shen Roujia wasted no time. “Gu Zhi, you are very special to me. It’s hard to explain, but I trust you completely.”
Gu Zhi paused. Shen Roujia’s sudden appearance and their unexpected bond were things she had never anticipated.
Although Shen Roujia often spoke in peculiar ways, her innate charm made people trust and approach her.
“Go on.”
Shen Roujia didn’t hesitate, detailing Consort Shu’s threats.
“Who hasn’t done foolish things in their youth? I just didn’t expect it to come back and bite me.”
Gu Zhi chuckled for the first time. “So, you want me to help you steal the letters?”
Shen Roujia nodded. “Exactly. If this scandal gets out, it’ll affect my brother and sister.”
Gu Zhi tapped her fingers on the table, deep in thought.
Shen Roujia was sure Gu Zhi would help because Consort Shu and the fourth prince were her mortal enemies.
Gu Zhi finally spoke. “Have you considered that even if the letters are gone, if you anger her, she’ll find other ways to punish you?”
Gu Zhi looked seriously at Shen Roujia. “I’ve heard her methods are exceptional.”
Shen Roujia hadn’t thought that far, and her brows furrowed at the warning. “You mean...”
Gu Zhi analyzed softly. “The Bai family is deeply rooted and complicated. This matter can be significant or trivial. If they target you, escaping unscathed is uncertain. Consort Shu can silence people permanently. If I were you, I’d find a way to topple her. Only then will the matter be buried for good.”
Shen Roujia had only considered the surface. She realized the original Shen Roujia never understood the full extent of the scheme.
Feeling disheartened, Shen Roujia realized that getting involved in this conflict meant there was no turning back.
Gu Zhi reassured her. “Don’t be afraid. Your brother, Prime Minister Shen, is as shrewd as they come. With him as your support, you have nothing to fear.”
Shen Roujia was puzzled. “Hasn’t the Shen family been under the Bai family’s control for a long time?”
Gu Zhi frowned. “Of course not. The Bai family has repeatedly hindered his career, yet he rose to power alone. Imagine the strategy that requires.”
