"What’s going on? Why is she not supporting me?" Ding Nuannuan asked in a panic. The reason she was this confident in finding trouble with Yu Mai was because Ding Nuannuan was certain that Yu Dong would help her no matter what, with Big Yu helping her it should be impossible for Yu Dong to ignore her pleas.

"Big Yu! Do something, if this matter is known to her then she will never support me," Ding Nuannuan said to Big Yu who was just as flustered.

She had tried to use her Ghostly aura to make Yu Dong follow Ding Nuannuan’s whims but unexpectedly, her skills did not work on Yu Dong. Why? What was going on?

Big Yu flinched as she had not expected such a thing to happen. Why was Yu Dong looking in her direction? It was as if she could see her!

Yu Dong definitely could not see a spirit that was lingering on the surface of the world where she was living, however, she did feel a sudden energy attacking her and immediately turned to look at the source of it but to her surprise she did not find anything.

’What’s going on?’ Yu Dong thought as she looked at the young girl in front of her. This was the second time she felt as if something was attacking her.

Seeing that Yu Dong was not reacting, Ding Nuannuan felt a bit worried. If Yu Dong was not won over by the Favourability wisp then she would not believe anything that she was going to tell her.

Ding Nuannuan couldn’t allow that to happen.

"My wounds hurt," Ding Nuannuan said to Yu Dong as she pushed herself off the floor. "Can I go back to my house? I need to treat my injuries." as she spoke she showed Yu Dong the wounds that she had gotten after fighting with Lang Ru and Yu Mai.

Seeing the broken skin and bleeding wound, Yu Dong couldn’t possibly stop the girl. She nodded and waved her hand before saying, "Very well, you can leave." She was a child if Yu Dong were to stop Ding Nuannuan then she would be blamed for bullying a child.

"But.." Yu Mai wanted to clear up the misunderstanding. He did not bully Ding Nuannuan, it was her who bullied him!

"It is fine, we will treat your wounds first. Come with me," Yu Dong picked up Yu Mai in her arms and turned to look at the rest of the children. "You all come too, bring the buckets of earthworms with you. I will ask your Brother Li to hand you chicks."

"Thank you, Sister Yu!"

"Thank you!"

"We also caught fish!"

"Is that so?" Yu Dong smiled at the mer who spoke, she reached her hand out and touched the top of the head of the mer. "You did a good job, come with sister. I will give you ice cream."

Even though she spoke to every child present in the groove, Yu Dong did not turn to look at Ding Nuannuan.

Ding Nuannuan, who was waiting to be invited by Yu Dong, was stunned. She thought that Yu Dong would at least coax her but the woman did not even look at her.

Sensing someone looking at her, Yu Dong turned to look at Ding Nuannuan who immediately pulled a pitiful expression. She also wanted to eat this thing called ice cream.

She thought that Yu Dong turned to look at her because she was going to invite her to her house but —-

"Arenm’t you going back?" Yu Dong asked Ding Nuannuan with a polite tone. "Your injuries need some cleaning and attention, you better go back home."

With that, she turned on her feet and walked away leaving Ding Nuannuan alone to stare at her in surprise.

Yu Mai who was being held in Yu Dong’s arms made a face at Ding Nuannuan whose face turned livid with rage.

How dare that bastard!

Ding Nuannuan was furious but she knew when to retreat, even though she was not happy with how the situation turned around, she had no choice but to retreat.

She took one last look at Yu Dong and her brother before turning on her feet and running back home.

On the other side, Yu Dong who was hugging Yu Mai looked down at the child in her arms before saying, "Does it hurt?"

"It hurts but that bad girl must be hurting more, I bit her fingers!" Yu Mai announced angrily. He huffed and then buried his face in Yu Dong’s neck. After a while, he murmured, "Sister..did I eat our parents?"

Yu Dong who was walking down the path to home, paused. She turned to look at Yu Mai and asked in disbelief, "What did you say? Who did what?"

"Did I eat our parents?" Yu Mai asked with an aggrieved expression. "The bad girl said that I ate our parents which is why sister doesn’t like me…but I did not eat our parents, so why did that girl say such a thing ?"

"She said such a thing?" Yu Dong felt a nerve throb in her head as she clenched her fingers. Right, she was wondering why Lang Ru lost her temper. She narrowed her eyes, the young girl couldn’t know such a thing, most probably one of the adults in the family told to her.

The question was who?
