Guide to raise my cutie husbands-Chapter 1836: Do you think you are made of iron ?
"It’s a Gu child," Wu Junfen told Yu Dong with a frown on her face. "No wonder this woman’s corpse moved even after she died, the one who has the mother Gu must have controlled her body." ƒгeewёbnovel.com
Yu Dong narrowed her eyes as she looked at the mutilated corpse before saying, "There is a mother Gu that needs to be dealt with as well?"
"I am afraid yes," Wu Junfen used a talisman and burnt the child Gu worm that was squirming in her hands. The two women watched the Gu worm slowly burn down to bits before Wu Junfen threw away the ashes of the Gu worm onto the ground. She said to Yu Dong, "Well the good news is that we are done with our work here."
"Not yet, we are not done," said Yu Dong as she turned to look at the small animal shed which was not far from the building where Madam Gong was living.
She turned on her feet and headed over to the shed where she broke open the lock that was hanging on the door with a kick and pushed the door open.
"No!"
"Don’t kill us. We are not going to ask for anything."
"You can take the food that we brought with us but just let us go."
As soon as Yu Dong opened the door of the animal shed, all kinds of screams and shrieks echoed inside the shed. She closed her eyes hearing the screams before saying to the women and mer as well as to the children, "There is no need for you to scream. We are here to save you all."
The second she finished speaking, there was an eerie silence inside of the shed before someone screamed loudly.
"You liar!"
Yu Dong turned and looked at the ferocious child who was glaring at her. She saw that the child had lost a lot of flesh, which was thinly cut off from his body.
Seeing the condition of the poor boy, Yu Dong smiled gently. She said to him, "I am not lying. We are really here to help you." As she spoke, she walked over to an old mer and undid the shackles around his hands.
The old mer was stunned. He looked at his hands, which were freed, and then looked up at Yu Dong, who smiled kindly at him before saying, "The villagers who caught you here have been dealt with. If you want, you can leave."
No sooner did she finish speaking than the mer scrambled to his feet haphazardly. He fell twice as he hadn’t walked for a long time but even after falling, he still crawled his way out of the shed.
As soon as he stepped out, he looked at the clear sky and deserted village; the old mer’s lips quivered as he stumbled back on the ground and covered his face with his hands.
"I am alive! I am alive! Wife, I made it out alive!" the mer sobbed in his hands. A few days ago his wife was eaten by these beasts as she tried to protect him and his brothers. Now that he was free and safe, he could thank and honour his wife for her courageous actions.
The people inside heard the words of the old mer and started clamouring for Yu Dong to save and help them as well. Yu Dong didn’t refuse as she and Wu Junfen rescued these refugees. Once they were freed, no one stayed behind and rushed out of the animal shed.
Yu Dong didn’t blame them; if she were in their shoes, then she too wouldn’t trust anyone. Even if they helped her.
The refugees ran away but the little boy who had screamed stayed where he was; it was only then that she noticed that the poor child had his legs twisted.
"Did they do this to you?" Yu Dong asked as she crouched down and looked at the boy.
"I tried to run away," the boy snorted. He was young and weak, thus the villagers thought that he would not be able to run away, so when they saw him run, they caught him and broke his legs.
Yu Dong hummed as she turned to look at Wu Junfen, who glanced at the boy and said to him, "Do you want to come with me?"
The boy stiffened and he eyed her warily. Seeing this, Wu Junfen rolled her eyes and said to him, "There is no need to look at me like that. Do you think that I am someone who would be hungry for that little meat on your body?"
The boy looked at Wu Junfen up and down. Seeing that she was indeed dressed in clothes that were rather expensive, the boy heaved a sigh of relief; nonetheless, it was still impossible for him to trust Wu Junfen completely. He said to her, "I will follow you but you must let go of me in two months."
He knew that with his leg in a condition like this, there was no way he would be able to run away if these two women had evil intentions towards him. Since that was the case, then he might as well take the risk.
"Very well," Wu Junfen didn’t care if this boy stayed or left; the only reason she was bringing him with her was because it didn’t sit well with her conscience to leave a child like him alone here.
…
The two of them returned to the village, and when she returned, her husbands were waiting for her right at the entrance of the house. When Yu Dong saw them wait, she raised her hand and touched her nose awkwardly. She knew that her husbands were going to worry but because Yu Dong was in a hurry, she did not tell them where she was going.
"Ah Li, why are you here?"
"What do you think?" Shen Li questioned with a sneer; his intense gaze was burning into her as he directed his accusation at her, "No note. No word, you left just like that? Have you forgotten that you are a woman with husbands and children? If you think we are too much of a burden, just tell us; we will leave alright?"
