Chapter 573: My Slave

An awkward silence stretched all over the room. Luo Huian looked at the elf who was kneeling on the floor and curled her lips. She leaned forward and mused, "So you mean to say that you came here without knowing the ins and outs of the matter and attacked someone even when they were innocent?"

"I didn’t attack anyone!" The elf spoke with an indignant expression on his face. With his fingers clenched in a tight fist, he said to Luo Huian, "It’s not what you think. Even if these people didn’t steal, they still bought the legacies made and created by the elves and never returned. They deserve to be punished!"

"I see," Luo Huian nodded. She stood up from the bed and summoned a gigantic folding fan. She looked at the elf and raised the fan in the air before smacking him on the back of the head; her actions were not light at all, causing the elf to fly right into the wall behind him.

It wasn’t that the elf didn’t want to run away, but he later realised that all his magic had been nullified. Only then did he realise belatedly that this woman had long sensed his presence and had cast a spell to make it impossible for him to escape from her clutches!

This damned woman!

This was why he hated immortals. Just because they were stronger than them, they treated poor elves like him quite carelessly. Look at this; this woman was beating him without even giving him a chance to escape.

"So," Luo Huian drawled while watching the elf slide down the wall slowly. "You killed someone; should I eradicate your existence now?"

"What!?" the elf raised his voice and looked at the woman incredulously. "When did I kill someone?"

"The victim you scared was murdered in the hospital."

"How is that my fault?"

"Just as the fault lies with those who bought the legacies created by the elves without knowing that they were stolen," Luo Huian smiled and explained. She tilted her head to one side and looked at the elf who was crying injustice on the floor, but choked when he saw that Luo Huian had countered him so well that he couldn’t even say a word against her.

The elf raised his head and tried to save his face, "That’s...that’s different."

"Of course it’s different," sneered Luo Huian. "I am taking care of the source, while you, on the other hand, are too stupid to find the real culprit."

"I am not stupid!" the elf countered.

"You are", Luo Huian glanced at the screen on the side and sighed when she realised that this elf was no different from humans. Even though he was an elf, he was still affected by the aura of gloom that was scattered all over the city. She looked at the angry elf and questioned, "If you were not stupid, then you would have looked for the culprit instead of blaming those who are innocent."

"I—"

"Isn’t it because you are stupid? If you were not, then you would have found the real culprit behind these thefts."

"I am not stupid!" the elf repeated stupidly; he was so angry that his expression turned twisted as he glared at the woman in front of him. "I...I can find the culprit!"

"No, you cannot." Luo Huian mocked the elf for his uselessness. First, she was upset with him for causing trouble for her family, and secondly, she wanted to agitate the elf enough to make him forget about everything and motivate him into finding the real deal. What was the point of getting depressed and pranking those who had nothing to do with the problem that he was facing?

"I can!" frёewebnoѵēl.com

"Then why don’t we make a bet?" Luo Huian tilted her head to one side and smirked. Her expression left the little elf to turn stiff with fear as he looked at the woman with a fearful look.

"What kind of bet?" the elf eyed her suspiciously as he looked at Luo Huian warily.

"How about I give you three weeks to find the real culprit?" said Luo Huian. "If you can find the culprit in three weeks, then I will admit that I was wrong and admit my fault. I will also kowtow to you such that you can go back and boast about it to your friends in the dimension of elves."

When the elf heard Luo Huian’s words, he had to admit that he was quite tempted. His eyes flickered, and he blinked his eyes before saying, "Are you for real?"

"I am." Luo Huian nodded and slowly added, "I understand that elves like you have suffered quite a lot at the hands of the immortals. Because your magic is weak, you cannot play tricks on immortals and are often beaten."

She paused and added, "But if an immortal loses to you and kneels in front of you, then wouldn’t you become the hero of the elves? They all will look up to you for the good and heroic deed that you have done."

As soon as she finished speaking, the elf’s eyes started to shine brightly.

"I –I want to make this bet," he said excitedly.

Hearing his response, Luo Huian smiled and said, "There is no need to be in a hurry. Since it’s a bet, there has to be a consequence for losing it."

The elf stiffened, but he still said stubbornly, "I will not lose."

"What if you do?" Luo Huian questioned. "Even if you are confident that you will not lose, you should still follow the rules, right? I believe there is a law that states something similar to this in your dimension, right?"

The elf pursed his lips and nodded with a sigh, and Luo Huian curled her lips upon hearing his response. She nodded to him and then said, "Then how about this? If you do not succeed in finding the culprit behind these thefts, you will become my slave."
