Guide To Reign My Tycoon Husbands-Chapter 587: A Child
Chapter 587: A Child
Long Zhong parted his lips in anger. He said, "And what is that supposed to mean? Have you forgotten how mean she was to you in the past? Are you really going to forget the things that she had done to you?"
While Qi Yongrui seemed to be willing to forgive Luo Huian quite easily, Long Zhong had no such intentions. He had witnessed the actions that Luo Huian had taken against Qi Yongrui. If Qi Changpu was the source of all the pain that Qi Yongrui had to go through, Luo Huian had also added salt to his wounds.
Her actions had made Qi Yongrui suffer countless times, and even though Qi Yongrui was willing to forgive her without giving her any trouble, Long Zhong was not going to forgive her that easily.
Qi Yongrui smiled. However, there was a hint of self-mockery in his smile. He said, "I didn’t want to, but if I be honest, she has been the only one who has been kind to me after my accident. After I turned into a cripple, no one bothered to come and look for me."
"I heard them mocking behind my back, saying things like how I deserved it."
"Which bastard!? Who was this bastard who said such a thing? Tell me, I am going to skin him or her alive," Long Zhong spoke angrily. He was indeed truly furious when he thought about how someone was mocking Qi Yongrui by saying such a ridiculous thing. What did they mean by that he deserved it? How the hell did he deserve such a thing? If there was someone who deserved to be turned into a cripple, then it was Qi Changpu!
She was the one who ruined everything for Qi Yongrui. If not for her, Qi Yongrui would have had a normal childhood. Even if he had still been trapped in the orphanage, he would have lived a much more peaceful life than he did with the Qi family.
Qi Yongrui smiled peacefully. Even though Long Zhong’s anger towards those who mocked him warmed his heart, he didn’t tell the mer their names. He shrugged and then said to him in a soft voice, "There is no need to worry about such a thing. I didn’t take their actions and words to heart. After all, they have the right to choose with whom they want to work. It has nothing to do with me."
He paused and added, "In such a turn of events, only Luo Huian is the one who has truly taken care of me. Even though she has been nothing but harsh on me in the past, she was the only one who reached out and helped me when I was at my lowest, and I think that’s what matters the most, rather than how others treated me in the past."
Long Zhong stared at Qi Yongrui. He wanted to say that there was no need for Qi Yongrui to stoop so low. After all, he was also the CEO of a big, multinational company. Was there a need for him to drop his standards to this point?
However, before he could say anything, there was a sudden thump and the screech of brakes that echoed throughout the street as the car came to a stop. Long Zhong and Qi Yongrui jerked forward as the car halted.
"What happened?" Qi Yongrui asked with a frown on his face. He hoped nothing serious would happen.
"A child came running towards the car out of nowhere, sirs," replied the driver with a frown on her face. She then opened the door of the car and stepped out, and so did Qi Yongrui and Long Zhong. The two of them hurried around the car, with Long Zhong pushing Qi Yongrui in the wheelchair.
The child who came running from the street was lying on the road with some minor abrasions, but for some reason, the child was already unconscious. Seeing this, Qi Yongrui frowned. He said to Long Zhong and said to him, "Bring the child with us to the hospital."
"Are you sure? What if this is just a scam to trap us?" Long Zhong asked sharply as he turned to look around the street, as if waiting for someone to pop out and then scam them for money.
"Even if there is nothing we can do about it," said Qi Yongrui with a hint of a frown on his face. "What if the child is severely injured or suffering from a disease, which is why he fainted here? If we leave him and something happens, then we will be the ones in trouble."
Long Zhong agreed with Qi Yongrui; thus, he asked the driver to put the child in the back seat while he helped Qi Yongrui in the back seat and then climbed to the front.
With an injured child in their car, the driver was rather careful and soon arrived at the hospital, where Qi Yongrui asked the nurses to take the child to the examination room just as he and Long Zhong finished paying the fees for the test results of the child.

"The child is severely malnourished," said the doctor with a frown. "She is also suffering from typhoid, which is why she fainted in the middle of the street like that. How are you guys looking after your children?"
When the driver heard the reprimand of the doctor, she was stunned. She waved her hands and then turned to say, "She is not my daughter. I am not even a married woman, doctor!" She then turned to look at Qi Yongrui and Long Zhong, who returned after finishing the formalities.
The two had left the driver to care for the girl.
She then said to Qi Yongrui and Long Zhong, "Sirs, please tell the doctor that I am not the mother of the child. She is misunderstanding that I am the mother of that girl and abusing her."
As soon as the driver finished speaking, Long Zhong teased her, "Why? Xiao Fei? You are getting nervous over something so simple? Have you forgotten the days when you used to work in the special forces and shoot someone to death with just a single gunshot?"
Xiao Fei’s cheeks turned red. She then stepped aside and let Long Zhong push Qi Yongrui to the front.
"She is not the father of this girl. She is my special driver, and as for this girl, she ran into us when we were driving on the street and headed for our company," explained Qi Yongrui. "Though she was only lightly injured and only received a few abrasions, I didn’t think it was right for us to leave the child on the road and brought her to the hospital."
When the doctor heard that she had made a mistake, she cleared her throat. She then said to Qi Yongrui, "Well, whoever is taking care of this child is not doing a good job. She is not eating properly because she is suffering from typhoid; her condition is even worse than it should have been."
She then said to Qi Yongrui, "You should try to contact the family member of this girl. Maybe they are in a poor condition and cannot take care of her... if that is the case, then the hospital can help them a little bit because of the special reserves that we have for children like her."
"However, for that to be applied, the child’s guardian should be here."
When Qi Yongrui heard the response of the doctor, he frowned. He then turned to look at Long Zhong. He said to her, "Go and see if you can find the parents of that girl; send a few of the bodyguards and look around the street where the child was found." though it was a bit difficult to get hold of the parents of the child, it was still better than letting the girl die in the hospital.
Qi Yongrui did like children but he didn’t have the time or space to care for children. Thus, he couldn’t adopt this girl even if he wanted to; he would not be able to care for her at all.
Long Zhong frowned. He did not want Qi Yongrui to get involved with that girl any more than necessary because something about her told him that there was something problematic about him.
But seeing how Qi Yongrui had made up his mind, he sighed and agreed. He said to him, "Wait for me. I will go and see if we can find any information on the girl’s parents. If we can, then it’s well and good, and if we cannot, then you might as well forget about it."
He was worried that Qi Yongrui would get attached to the child.
"Don’t worry; I know that I am in no condition to take care of a child," said Qi Yongrui with a derisive smile. He looked down at his feet and sighed. He needed others to take care of him; how could he allow a child to come and stay with him?
At the same time,
"WHERE IS THAT BRAT!?"
