Half-Hearted: Mr. Sinclair, Stop the Act!-Chapter 145: A Tacit Understanding
Seeing the message, she paused for a moment, her gaze even stalled for an instant.
But perhaps she had already guessed it in her heart, she wasn’t too surprised.
The only thing that surprised her was the sentence at the end of the text message.
Caleb Sinclair actually knew about her relationship with Sebastian Prescott.
Why did he suddenly investigate this?
Not to say her acting is top-notch, but at least, her various performances before should have been enough to make Caleb Sinclair believe, there’s no way he would start investigating Radiance Beauty Spa’s whistleblower and her delegated relationship with Sebastian Prescott without a reason.
Could it be that someone is deliberately guiding him?
She instinctively thought of the person who tried to destroy her by fabricating rumors.
That bundle of confusion expanded in her heart once more.
No wonder Caleb Sinclair was acting so unusually this morning, asking her if she loved him, and saying he wanted to have a child.
So even if he knows, he doesn’t plan to break this layer of window paper?
She was the one who had personally sent his mother to prison.
And she deceived him, could he really tolerate it?
Or does he have other motives?
Sienna Monroe furrowed her brow.
Now, she truly couldn’t grasp Caleb Sinclair’s intentions.
Even upon entering the art gallery, that strand of doubt didn’t dissipate.
Yesterday’s opening ceremony of the art museum went smoothly, and in the afternoon, Serena Art Museum, Audrey, and Faye Irving all trended on social media.
Of course, including entries like Sienna Monroe and Caleb Sinclair’s clarification.
The exhibition and the clarification regarding the legal entity of Radiance Beauty Spa hung on the trending topics with a total of seven or eight entries, creating quite a magnificent and lively scene.
These two topics were especially discussed heavily online, even the gallery’s official website was flooded.
The opening ceremony of this exhibition was unanimously praised on international platforms.
After reviewing the materials collected by Nora Joyce, Sienna Monroe slowly exhaled a breath.
This art exhibition has been a half-success.
"The exhibition period is long, the venue needs to be meticulously checked every day, do not slack off, to avoid any mishaps."
Nora Joyce nodded, "Yes, I understand."
Sienna Monroe reminded once more, "Additionally, regarding Ivy’s exhibition planning, tell them not to delay, give Ivy a draft within a week, and ask for her opinion."
Nora Joyce nodded again, "Yes, I’ll go discuss with the planning team now."
Around eleven thirty, after Sienna Monroe made a simple circle around the four exhibition areas, Cecilia York came over to ask if she’d like to go have lunch together.
June Ewing’s matter somewhat affected her. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
But thankfully, back when she was training underground, she wasn’t registered or documented.
So the police hadn’t traced it back to her.
Sienna Monroe wore a faint smile at the corner of her mouth and gladly agreed. Just as the two were discussing where to go for lunch, Sienna Monroe’s phone rang.
It was an unmarked phone number.
But it looked a bit familiar.
She pressed to answer, "Hello."
"Madam." A somewhat familiar male voice came from the other side of the receiver.
Sienna Monroe was slightly taken aback and tentatively said, "Langley... Special Assistant Langley?"
Special Assistant Langley responded, "Yes, it’s me. I apologize for calling you abruptly."
Sienna Monroe chuckled lightly. Although she had been married to Caleb Sinclair for over three years, Special Assistant Langley rarely called her, and they seldom met.
She asked directly, "No problem, is there something you need?"
"I’m currently at the hospital. Mr. Sinclair suddenly fainted from a high fever an hour ago, his temperature reached 41 degrees. The doctor said, if he were sent half an hour later, it would have been life-threatening.
I’ve been busy handling the paperwork, and I called you as soon as the drip was administered. Madam, if you are available now, could you please come over? There’s a lot going on at the company and I can’t leave for too long."
Fever?
Sienna Monroe furrowed her brow, her calm gaze emitted surprise.
Speaking of, they’ve been together for over six years, Caleb Sinclair rarely fell ill, always maintaining a good physical condition.
This time, the fever reached 41 degrees.
There’s even a risk to his life.
She pursed her lips, "Which hospital? I’ll head over now."
On the other end of the phone, Special Assistant Langley reported an address and room number.
After hanging up, Sienna Monroe looked up to meet Cecilia York’s eyes, "Sorry, Cecilia, your cousin is hospitalized with a high fever, I need to go quickly."
"Ah? High fever, is it serious?"
Cecilia York looked worried.
Sienna Monroe casually replied, "I don’t know yet, I’ll head over first."
Cecilia York nodded, "Alright, then please go quickly, drive safely, I’ll visit my cousin when I get off work."
Sienna Monroe responded, didn’t bother going upstairs to grab her bag, and after notifying the driver, headed to Central General Hospital.
On the way, Sienna Monroe bought three portions of lunch, two were packed together, the other was separately packed.
Upon arriving at the hospital, she went straight to the VIP single room mentioned by Special Assistant Langley.
It was a suite; she knocked and entered. Special Assistant Langley, who was sitting on the sofa looking at his phone, stood up to greet her, "Madam."
"Has he woken up? How is he? What did the doctor say?" Sienna Monroe placed her things on the table, asking three questions in a row.
"Not yet, the doctor said to observe after the injections, the fever must be brought down today."
"Alright, understood, thank you for your hard work, Special Assistant Langley." Sienna Monroe pointed at one portion, "I figured you might not have had lunch yet, it’s meal time, so I packed a portion for you."
Special Assistant Langley hesitated, "Thank you, madam. Then I’ll take my leave first."
"Yes, take care."
Special Assistant Langley took the lunch and left, Sienna Monroe then went to see Caleb Sinclair.
His face was pale, his brows furrowing tightly, even in sleep he seemed restless.
A flash of insight struck her, suddenly realizing that Caleb Sinclair might have fallen ill from the shock of the truth?
Thinking about it, her heart was filled with mixed emotions, an indescribable feeling.
He didn’t openly discuss this matter with her, instead choosing to keep the truth to himself.
Soft-hearted?
Seems not.
In a daze, she realized she was such a cold-hearted person.
Sienna Monroe stood by the bedside for two minutes, not knowing what she was thinking, suppressing the slight melancholy in her heart, then turned to go eat.
Around two-thirty, Caleb Sinclair’s IV drip was completely administered, a nurse came to measure his temperature, it was still at 40 degrees, the fever hadn’t subsided.
However, half an hour after the injection, Caleb Sinclair woke up.
His vision filled with white, he was momentarily confused, raising a hand to rub his dizzy head. Just as he sat up, the door opened, and Sienna Monroe walked in.
Seeing him awake, Sienna Monroe halted her steps.
Since Caleb Sinclair didn’t want to break this layer of window paper, she had no reason to either.
They both understood without words.
Quite good.
She approached, using the back of her hand to tap his forehead.
Furrowing her brow, she said, "You’re awake? Still burning hot."
Saying that, she promptly pressed the bell by the bedside.
In about three minutes, the doctor and nurse entered.
After conducting a basic examination for Caleb Sinclair, they said, "Eat something first. Later the nurse will deliver the medication, monitor your temperature hourly."
"Okay, thank you."
Sienna Monroe saw them off.
When she returned to the bedside, she noticed Caleb Sinclair’s gaze had been following her closely, unwavering, his deep eyes seemed devoid of any emotion.
Yet there seemed to be, only she couldn’t decipher it.
She asked softly, "I bought some food for you when I came over at noon, it’s been kept warm, ready to eat now?"
