Harem Lord System: Post Apocalyptic World-Chapter 48: Zombie Beast

There will definitely be a lot of animals in the forest which are termed as zombie beasts after getting infected. The only problem is that area is definitely far more dangerous.

There was no information about evolvers hunting the zombie beasts though. They were busy dealing with all the dead walkers which were nearby them.

As for the term zombie beast it came from the pets humans had owned and the street animals. Those cute cats were like bloodthirsty agile demons after becoming beasts and they might have infected most of the uninfected humans.

Thankfully humans had found that unlike human zombies, zombie beasts feared sound and fire. Also they avoid the human zombies too. Once it became known everyone used sounds and eventually beasts left the cities since there were a lot of dead walkers inside them.

Even in this society there were a few of these beasts but they also left.

Lukas was very sure it wasn’t true that beasts avoided dead walkers but more like that these beasts from cats and dogs specifically did it.

It was like that even if they have gone brain dead their instincts were still working perfectly fine. Maybe this is the reason why zombie beasts also avoided sounds.

He had a feeling that he was more than ninety percent right in his assumptions.

Given this it will be safe to assume that those animals which aren’t afraid of humans wouldn’t be afraid of dead walkers either and a forest is definitely a place where such beasts or an appropriate term will be zombie monsters live.

There is one more thing. Zombie beasts didn’t have inherent repulsion to eat other zombie beasts so they might be eating each other out from the start. Because of this the chances of meeting a higher level beast or monster are very high in the forests.

This is what he was afraid of the most. Also this is the reason he wanted to increase the safety around his home faster. If he was able to make it secure enough then it will become a perfect base for some time.

The outer forest wouldn’t be much dangerous and it will work as a level farming spot for him and his loved ones.

"What are you thinking? Those zombies are closing in Lukas." Hannah nudged his shoulder slightly when she saw him lost in thoughts.

Lukas came to his senses and looked at six approaching zombies. The further they went toward the back of his society the more dead walkers they encountered.

If they encountered three or fewer Hannah, Emily and Grace took care of them while if the group was bigger like this one then it was his job to kill all of them.

His attacks also attracted more dead walkers so they were getting a lot now.

"Sorry I was distracted a little. Let’s speed up a little shall we..." Now that he had seen that they could handle themselves he began increasing their pace.

This went on for a while when finally a skill orb dropped when Emily killed a dead walker. The color of the orb was shining red and Lukas smiled when he saw that... ’This proves at least one of my assumptions.’

Emily picked the orb and passed it to Lukas as he was storing all the loot till now. Lukas shook his head. "Use it Aunt. It’s better to get that skill... just crush it with your hands."

Emily had already learned about skills and compatibility so she understood that this one was for her. She nodded. "Alright..."

Using a skill orb is simple. She just had to crush it in her hands and the orb wasn’t much hard either.

Emily squeezed the orb in her hand and immediately it broke like ethereal glass...

CRACCK!

The glass turned into mist and began floating around her hand before entering her body through her skin pores.

Her expression changed slightly as it gave a prickly feeling for a second before everything went normal.

She looked at her status and nodded in satisfaction. "I got the skill... a common one known as Ember Shot."

Lukas opened his own status to see the sharing function since it wasn’t visible before...

There were two new tabs and it seems one is for showing with whom and what skill he was sharing and the other for all the skills he would have.

The skill tab was shining so he clicked it and new information appeared in front of him.

[Skills strength depends on its rarity and user’s level. Casting a skill would exhaust the user and a common skill has more toll on user than higher grade skill while doing less damage]

’I see...’ It was pretty easy to understand.

In nutshell this skill wasn’t good but he was still very happy as it was far better than having nothing and beasts are afraid of flames so if he went into the forest it would come handy if he didn’t want to use arrows.

He had also gotten some level 1 crystals while hunting so he was now a little closer to leveling up... ’Yup just a little.’

"Aunt use it. I want to see it." Grace asked as she couldn’t wait to see a skill being used by a human.

She was fascinated by the bow firing those ethereal arrows but she always wanted to see a skill in reality.
