Harem Lord System: Post Apocalyptic World-Chapter 56: Crocodile
Lukas’s voice turned extremely heavy with lust. "Be ready, once I come back, I will make sure you evolve."
Elena turned her face away. She was totally red right now. It was too embarrassing.
Lukas did not mind. He smirked and hit the gas before leaving the house. The streets were totally empty now. Hardly one or two dead walkers might be present on the fringes of the society.
He reached the location of the footbridge shortly and parked his car inside the nearest villa before running towards the forest.
After entering, he sped up and decided to go a little deeper.
On the outer fringes of the forest were level one zombie beasts so there was a high chance of meeting level two zombie beasts if he went a little further.
While running, he met some level one zombie beasts but ignored them to save his stamina and time to solely focus on level two ones.
After a few minutes, he came to a slightly open area where trees were a little sparse. He would have continued moving but Celeste growled a little while looking at that area.
He did not want to discard it as beasts have far higher sense of danger so there was definitely something hidden around it.
He did not have to look much though...
Rustle!
A massive crocodile came out of the bush with its eyes fixed on him.
"What the fuck? What is a crocodile doing here..."
Lukas backed off a little. The river did contain crocs but surely they would not be roaming the forest like this?
"Is it evolved or zombie?"
The crocodile’s skin was coarse and looked rotten even in its normal form so it was hard to tell the difference.
Nonetheless, it did not matter. The crocodile’s steps began moving faster and it was obvious that this bastard was coming for him.
Lukas aimed the arrow at the croc and let go of one of his strongest arrows. He somehow got the feeling that this crocodile was level two by its size and anything weaker than his strong attack would not kill it.
The arrow hit directly at the nose of the crocodile...
BOOOMMMM!
The blast was strong enough to break some trees nearby and the body of the crocodile was flung away and fell into the bush.
"What—"
Lukas got shocked as the tail of the crocodile was still moving. It was evident that it was still alive.
For the first time, there was something which had survived this bow’s strongest attack.
Although, looking at its skin which was shining with a brownish tint, it was evident that it was an evolved beast and definitely not a level one or two. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
The shine on its skin was definitely a skill and given the fact that his bow was only level two, attacking a level three beast where there was a gap between the strength of skills or maybe even weapons of different levels, the survivability of the crocodile was given even when he was using an epic grade weapon.
He was glad that it was epic grade or this croc would not have even gotten hurt from his attacks.
Rustle!
The crocodile turned around and looked at Lukas with an enraged expression.
"Chill buddy, you attacked me first."
He could see that its nose was broken from the previous attack. At least his attack was effective... this goes to show that this bow was amazing.
Nonetheless, it seemed he was going to get exhausted while fighting it... ’Who would have thought that I would be getting a level three in the start...’
Not to mention it was an evolved beast which are harder to kill than zombie beasts.
"Celeste, you should go away for some time..." He patted on her side.
This fight would definitely be a long one and it was better if she watched from a little far away.
"Meow!"
Celeste jumped down but stayed near him while looking at the crocodile warily.
Lukas sighed but let her be. He got focused and used Sanctified Pulse on the go. It would not affect Celeste as it depended on his will which were targets inside the domain.
"Grrrrrhhhh!" The crocodile opened its jaw wide and again dashed towards Lukas.
It definitely felt pain due to Sanctified Pulse but it was not enough to stop it.
Lukas began moving back while loading his arrow. His speed was not slower than the crocodile’s. In fact, it was faster so he was easily able to maneuver around it.
He was trying to attack its open mouth. If his arrow entered inside its mouth then the damage would be fatal for this crocodile.
It was hard to target though. The crocodile was moving its head left and right more thoroughly than before while chasing him...
BOOOMMM!!
"Dammit..."
The arrow missed by a hair’s breadth of distance and hit the ground, flinging the beast on its back...
"Grrrrrhhhh!!!"
It did not take long before it twisted itself back with new found determination even though it got a new wound on its abdomen.
"Oh well, I will just bleed you to death in worst case..."
Just as he thought that and the crocodile began to move again, Lukas’s eyes widened as he saw Celeste appear just shy above the crocodile’s head...
SHRRKKK!!
Her claws sliced through one of the eyes of the crocodile...
"Grrrrrrrrraaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!"
The crocodile began thrashing madly as it lost its left eye but Celeste had already disappeared before her claws even stopped moving.
Lukas was stunned at her precision and timing. She had attacked like a true assassin giving no chance of retaliation.
"Damn..."
Would she have been able to slice through his neck when he had first met her?
His stats were not much high to dodge something like that. Was this the power of the Spatial element... ’Fuck I am jealous.’
He really was. Why did humans not have a chance to get this element? If it was possible he would have gotten it too.
"Nice work Celeste."
He immediately fired another shot and this one hit its neck...
BOOOMMMM!
The crocodile was fully disoriented right now so he decided to hit it as much as he could before it took hold of itself.
To his surprise, the next arrow went inside its mouth even when he was not trying to do so...
BOOOMMM!
The crocodile’s upper and lower jaw got torn off from each other. It was not even able to scream but it was still alive but its thrashing began slowing down as a lot of blood was gushing out from its torn head.
Slowly, it finally became motionless and Lukas sighed in relief. "Holy shit..."
He really cursed his luck... the first beast he met was a level 3 evolved beast even when he had not gone too much deeper.
Although, it should not be too surprising since the river might contain more dangerous beasts like this.
Crocodiles like to come on shore so it must have wandered inside for a hunt in case he had finished others in its territory.
Suddenly, his eyes widened as two items dropped beside the crocodile’s body. It meant now it was truly dead.
"Two items? Is the drop rate higher for killing higher level beasts or was it the gap between the levels that gives more rewards..."
Maybe both were true and if they really were then one more way to farm good items from the forest. He should target only the higher level beasts to maximize the productivity of his expedition.
He immediately closed in the distance and picked up the loots. One was a shiny golden skill orb and given the appearance he was sure it was a rare skill.
’Is this similar to the skill the crocodile used?’ He had a feeling it was the truth.
The second item was the knowledge stone and it was a really good thing he got it.
This thing had given him important knowledge last time which made him make a trip to his aunt and save her. If not for this, she would have died by now.
He stored both of them inside and saw that Celeste was munching on some pieces of meat fallen from the crocodile.
Looking at her expression, he was sure that level 3 meat tasted even better than just level one or two evolved beasts.
He was relieved to see that the crystal was visible quite easily in the torn body of the crocodile. It saved him a lot of hassle to go through this behemoth of a beast to find it. It was definitely about 10 meters long.
The crystal was a little darker than level two ones so it proved that this was a level three beast. He began absorbing it and as he had expected it got absorbed in his body albeit a little slower.
It took him five times the usual time it takes to absorb a level two crystal and when he looked at his level bar it increased by 5 reaching 18 with only two level two crystals away from leveling up.
