Harem of the Demon: Gathering Beauties in a Magic World-Chapter 71. Catching Up
Chapter 71: 71. Catching Up
Isaac had arrived inside the inn and with the help of the several beautiful ladies who worked there, he was able to move his items very fast, keeping them safely in the store room as Madam Tai had wanted it to be.
It was easy for Isaac to move around inside the inn since he was familiar with the place. He was, after all, the former manager of the inn before his friend, Kim, took over after his resignation thanks to his marriage to Alicia alongside his relocation to Bambara village with her.
Isaac had gone upstairs and at this point, he was staring at a familiar door with a smile etched on his face. He rubbed the nameplate on the door gently and smiled even more.
He was happy, not for himself but for his friend, Kim.
"Manager Kim," Isaac read out. "It sure sounds nicer than Manager Winters or Manager Isaac."
Isaac sighed with disappointment. "None of my names are suited to sound well with such prefixes."
Knock. Knock.
"Yes! Come in!" Kim yelled from inside of the office.
Isaac chuckled before opening the door. As much as he was happy for his friend, he was still not yet used to not Kim being the manager.
Isaac entered the office and with the sight of his friend, Kim’s face lit up and he abandoned everything he was working own and stood.
Walking around his table, he hurried towards his friend and they hugged each other before exchanging a firm handshake.
"Isaac! It’s so good to see you," Kim openly remarked with a face that lit up like the stars in the sky.
Kim hugged him again and patted his back. It was obvious that he truly missed his friend.
Isaac pulled back and placed his hand on Kim’s shoulder. With a smile, he said, "It’s very nice to see you too, my friend."
Kim turned immediately and headed towards his chair. "Come. Come. You have a lot to tell me. Starting with Alicia."
Isaac laughed and followed him closely behind as he took a seat in one of the two chairs. in front of the table.
"How is she doing?" Kim inquired eagerly, keen on knowing what was going on in Isaac’s life at the moment. "How does it feel to be married? Tell me everything. I want to know. Maybe I will be inspired to follow in your footsteps."
Isaac burst out laughing and rubbing his belly. After a few seconds of laughing loudly, he gave his friend a confused look while trying to calm his laughter.
"Are you serious, Kim?"
Kim raised his eyebrows and scoffed.
"If you, who was nicknamed the God of Pleasure by Madam Tai, could find someone, fall in love and eventually marry her to live happily ever after," Kim pointed out.
"Then there’s hope for poor me. I’m not as good as you were with women. You were the playboy, while we just fed off the crumbs that dropped from your table."
Isaac laughed again. "You’re sick, Kim," he joked.
Kim relaxed a bit more. "It is really nice to see you, Isaac. It’s been what... two years?"
Isaac nodded.
"I’m happy to see you too and by the way, Alicia is fine. She sends her regards." freeweɓnovel-cøm
Kim inched forward and snapped his fingers at his friend. "Tell her that her regards were accepted with all of my heart. Say me well to her as well."
Aaron looked around, scanning the room and picking up differences from what he could last remember of the place.
"I see you made some changes, huh," he commented.
"Yeah. Yeah. Rearranged the room to make it easier for me. You know I’m not as active as you are. I can’t afford to stress myself."
Isaac clicked his tongue and shook his head. "Because you’re a lazy ass, Kim. Hehehe, you haven’t changed one bit. That’s good to know."
"How’s marriage life, my friend?"
Isaac slightly tilted his head back and forth. "Well, here and there. I think it’s better to be experienced than told about, to be honest. It’s a beautiful thing but definitely not a bed of roses. That much I know."
Isaac adjusted on his chair before continuing. "By the way, it seems the Madam is not around. I’m supposed to meet with her."
Kim raised his brows and smirked in mischievously, causing Isaac to chuckle.
"It’s not what you think, Kim. It’s just business," he defended himself.
"Maybe it’s just business for you, my friend. But I’m sure that’s not how the madam sees it," Kim retorted.
Kim and Isaac talked for quite a long time while he used that period to wait for Madam Tai, who had invited him over for some business. They talked about different things: Isaac’s new life and business, how Kim was coping as the new manager, women, wine etc.
Isaac took a glance outside and saw the day was getting cooler and dimmer as evening drew closer.
"It seems I’ll be taking my leave soon, Kim," Isaac said as he was about to stand up from his chair.
Kim extended his arms to stop him from leaving. "No. It’s quite late for you to leave for Bambara. You can stay here. Alicia would kill me if I let you go by this time, my friend. I still like my head being attached to the rest of my body."
They both laughed.
"I’ve missed you, man," Isaac confessed after a good laugh.
Kim nodded. "Me too, my friend. Me too."

"This is your room, Manager Isaac," a woman said as she gestured to him to enter the room.
Isaac looked at her and smiled. "You know I’m no longer your manager, Xiao," he reminded her.
Xiao immediately put her hands over her mouth, feeling remorseful for her mistake.
"I’m so sorry. Sorry, mana—sorry."
Isaac breathed out and put his hand on her shoulder. "Just call me Isaac or Mister Isaac. Whichever one you feel comfortable with."
Xiao nodded while fiddling her fingers. "Okay, mana—sorry, Mister Isaac."
Isaac moved past her into the room.
"Good night, Xiao."
"Good night, sir."
Isaac walked over to his bed and lay down, having a pleasurable feeling run down his body as he gained relief from tiredness.
"I’ve kind of missed this place," he said to himself, turning on the bed and dozing off.
